Great video! Love your haircut! The color on the final jumpsuit really does flatter you, so you’ve proven having your colors done does make a difference!
Thank you Nikki, i'm really enjoying my new hair and I wore my green jumpsuit yesterday and felt really nice in it. I was inside as really its a bit too cold for it outside lol xx
Love love love your hair! And both versions look great! I think I’ll need to give this pattern a whirl! The rise always is the trickiest bit isn’t it!!!
Thanks Rachael! Yeah it seems to be an issue for a lot of people doesn't it. Next time I'm going to try shortening the bodice and then leaving the rise alone xx
Firstly your hair looks lovely, gorgeous and glossy . Love both of your Zadies. I've never made it because i've always thaught it was a bit oversized but this looks great, I can imagine it looking fab in a viscose linen.
Thank you, i'm really enjoying my hair. Yes it would look lovely in a viscose linen. I'm not keen on it looking oversized, so glad i made the decision to go smaller xx
Love your Zadies so much! You are the first person to make me really love the pattern! I fall below the size measurements, especially on the hips, so I think it would just swamp me, but yours are gorgeous! Caitlin X
Thank you Joanne, yeah the blue is definitely my preferred one for fit, just which i'd have had enough fabric to make it longer. Still, it's nice to have different ones for different occasions xx
Hi, firstly love the hair, really suits you. I love the green of this zadie and think the white top underneath looks great and pulls out the white in the material. The blue was lovely too and thought the top half fitted you better than this one. I would probably always wear a cami underneath but that is down to our own preference. Re the bottom for me I would add in a bit more room but agree with you moving the waist higher. You are so right the material makes such a difference but once mastered what a great pattern for your wardrobe. Give me another few months and I may make one too as I have been losing weight and want to lose some more of my tummy first. Great review ❤
Hi Yvonne, thank you very much, i'm really enjoying the hair too. Yes that's true actually re the white cami top. I do feel the blue one fits better. I wore the green one yesterday and it was lovely to wear, but I feel it just doesn't look as good in the fit. I'm also in the process of losing some weight so wanted it a bit closer fitting to enable me to wear it once i'm a bit smaller ;) xx
So beautiful!! Love the longer length and the color is great on you! Isn’t it great to have a handful of handmade options for a special event ☺️ well done!
Great vlog and also really good time for me. I made it a long time ago but never finished it because it was too big so really interesting to see your review. I’ve worn my toile today to check how I feel in it. I do think the bottom trouser part has too much fabric in the back of the leg but I don’t want it to be tight. I sized down two sizes for the bottom half. I also feel on me that the top needs to be lengthened as my waist sits lower that the join. I will do that next time although that will alter the whole length of the garment. The legs are too short for me on my version. I think yours both look great. It does make a difference when you use different fabrics. Mine is cotton sateen and it’s a heavier weight but warming in the winter. I think I prefer your toile if I had to choose one and the reason is that it hangs better. It is possible that you could put some weights in the hem of the 2nd version and it would look different. Lovely colour though. Your hair is so lovely as you have it now. Wow!
Thank you, that's a great idea for weights in the bottom of the hem. On the first one I forgot to mention that I hemmed it with bias binding which has added weight to that one so perhaps I should have done the same for the green one. If I make another, I think i'll shorten the bodice and will leave the rise alone to see if that then gets the fit spot on. I hope you manage to sew your version to your liking. Thanks, I'm really enjoying the hair like this xx
Thanks so much Sarah. I'm glad i made the toile. I think i'm going to try shortening the bodice next time and leave the rise along to see if that works better for me xx
Both your Zadies are lovely! I’ve made two and thing it works better with a slightly more structured fabric; it helps the bits like the sleeves and wrap to hold their shape and not go baggy or floppy. I used a rayon for one and a viscose linen for my second and preferred the fit of my second one. Also, when I attached my binding I sewed it onto the right side then flipped it under so you couldn’t see the binding at all and prefer that finish. It also made it easier than folding the binding half around the raw edge (I didn’t do it on purpose, I think I misread the instructions!) but your versions are both lovely and I love the green fabric. It’ll be great for summer and holidays 😊
Thank you!! Now that is actually a really good idea for the binding lol, and I think it would sit really nicely. Will give that a go if I make another one. It definitely works better in a more structured fabric doesn't it. But I think i'll enjoy wearing the green one when it is much warmer than now ;) xx
I’ve made three Zadie’s already and I will make more! I made a facing I stead of bias binding for the more satin fabric for my last Zadie. I saw the idea on Pinterest. I’m gonna make a shorter version for summer.
Oh that's a good idea! Also adding the binding where you flip it under completely would be an idea too, so much less fiddly lol. A shorter one for the summer will be lovely xx
I wonder if Nancy Zimmerman videos are popular in the UK. She was a ‘first’ in the US to create sewing teaching videos for Public Broadcasting TV. She passed away but her videos are still available on RUclips. I just saw one on pattern fitting where she did a sway back adjustment by redrawing the back collar. That was a new idea to me….
Thanks Elaine, I wore it all day on Thursday and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be, but definitely not as forgiving as the navy cotton on xx
Luv both of the jumpsuits, but the first one definitely seems to have a slightly better fit. This has been great inspiration as I am just in the process of starting my first make of the Zadie. Wondering if you might be able to share your measurements as I am still struggling to determine which size would be best to make?
thank you, so glad it's been helpful. Yes my measurements are B36", W31", H43". I am in the process of losing weight, so that was my main reason for sizing down so much as I want it to still fit me when I am a little smaller xx
Thank you so much :) I figured our measurements were quite similar.. this will definitely help selecting a size seeing how this fits you... I've also been on a bit of journey to loose weight, its nice to know this pattern will still fit alright through weight fluctuations 😁
I bought this pattern at least a year ago, and have never got round to making it. This has fired me up. I think I’d like the legs to be a little narrower. Would it be possible to scale them down a bit without ruining the whole thing.
@@helenweatherby1694 aww that’s great it’s given you the inspiration to sew your version up. I think narrowing the legs would be fine, I’d suggest tapering them in from below the waistline or from below the pockets, depending on the type of look you’re after, but I don’t think it would ruin the look at all. Xx
😮great vlog as always I prefer the toile on you too. Your hair looks great. The tie will. Find your natural waist so if you make it again I would shorten the bodice and leave the crotch alone you will probably find it fits you perfectly then. Great makes and your the first vlogger that has made me want to try it, I too like close fitting clothes ❤❤
Thank you so much Linda! So glad I have inspired you :). I will definitely do you suggestion re the waist and crotch as I think you're right, it should fit a bit better then. xx

Thank you very much Jan xx
Your hair is gorgeous Karen you look amazing, the cut really suits you ❤❤❤❤
Thank you Patricia. I'm so glad I decided to cut it as i'm enjoying this style again xx
I like both of your jumpsuits. Love the color of the second. You look amazing with your new haircut! Really suits you!
Thank you so much for your lovely compliments xx
Hair is looking fabulous 🤩 and the colour of your Zadie suits you brilliantly.
Thanks so much Brenda, it's nice to have two different versions. I enjoyed wearing my green one yesterday xx
Such a cute jumpsuit, I love the color on you. Your hair looks great, very pretty.
Thank you Polly, I enjoyed wearing the jumpsuit yesterday and i'm loving my hair also xx
Both of your Zadie’s look lovely, the green one really compliments your colouring. Love your new haircut xx

Aww thank you! Yes I think it would be tricky to size down so much if you fall below the measurements as it is so very generous in ease xx
Love your new hair style it really suits you!
Thank you Alison xx
Love your hair. The jumpsuit is nice. I prefer the blue jumpsuit over the green one.
Thank you Joanne, yeah the blue is definitely my preferred one for fit, just which i'd have had enough fabric to make it longer. Still, it's nice to have different ones for different occasions xx
Stacey J Studio has just done a tutorial on sway back adjustment which you might find helpful 😊
Thank you, I will have a look xx
Nice hair lovely jump suits 🎉
Thank you very much xx
Your hair suits you so well. It's a bit more sophisticated looking. Your Zadies are lovely and the white cami looks just fine imo❤😊
Thank you Karen, im really enjoying my hair. Yeah I think it's because i initially thought i wouldnt have to wear anything underneath it. xx
Your hair looks beautiful it really suits you, both jumpsuits are lovely! ❤ I want to dig my pattern out again now having seen yours.
Thank you 🤩. It’s a fab pattern xx
Lovely Zadies Karen and lovely hair 😊❤
Thanks so much Annette 😀❤️ xx

Thank you Anne xx

I've just done a sway back adjustment on a pattern using nancy ziemans pivot and slide technique no cutting the pattern, it was so much easier. 😊
Thanks Sue, I will check that out for sure xx

Thank you 🤩 xx
I love your short hair, I always have. You look gorgeous with short hair! ❤ 🌹
Thank you so much. It’s definitely a style I’ve gone back to quite a bit over the years xx
I like clothes a little bigger. So your first one I liked better, but both are beautiful.
Thank you 🤩 xx
