Uber/Lyft claim the MIT study is flawed. Where is your mathematical evidence to disprove the study?

Great argument. They should be doing a study themselves to make sure that their drivers are taken care of. I don't ride Uber or Lyft anymore now that I found out how they treat their drivers, especially Lyft because they act like they care about drivers. Yet they've been keeping the ride costs hidden from the drivers. Very unfair practices.

Ar Glue That is awesome! I hope more people start thinking like you.

Absolutely. People need to stop riding Lyft. I did a little graph about them on Instagram. They're now taking 50% from their drivers and not paying them for Line rides. Just terrible. I'm thinking I may even do a video about it because people need to start telling each other about how Lyft is crushing their drivers. instagram.com/p/Biz4G_-nlDu/?taken-by=arglueofyoutube

Lyft was by far the worst job ever! Quit before 2 months. Lyft is designed to benefit riders and themselves only. Lyft I will never use your service ever!

Well when I did Uber I made 2.00 per hour , they misclassify you as a independent contractor, u make your own hours witch is cool but Uber basically exploited a labor loophole they could've made the app great for driver's looking to work there own hours but instead they screw over workers , witch is fucked up, on the plus side I did make extra money but it wasn't alot it was more of a got my gas back driving back and forth to work , so it basically subsidized my spending but it's definitely not something to survive on and pay rent or buy anything major, you would be homeless doing Uber and starve to death , #facts

It’s another way to screw over workers. Someone is making the money.

Don't get a car payment. Buy your car in cash. Do your own maintenance and just drive part time. Insurance and a phone would already be a given but remember you can deduct all of it on your taxes along with gas.
If not just forget about it or just use the accepting rides towards my destination in your regular commute to help a little with gas money.

Uber and Lyft are in denial. I tried it before and the month earnings wasn't enough, for me to continue. I was losing money to so I stopped and looked for a real job.

I've never understood how why you necessarily factor in depreciation. If I never intended to sell my vehicle isn't that cost just imaginary. It's kinda like worrying about the value of a half eaten cheeseburger. It doesn't matter. I'm never going to resell my cheeseburger. I'm going to eat it.

This is business, every business there is a risk if you don’t understand it...now every small business owner work between 45 to 55 hrs per wk then , they have to pay rent , utilities, liability insurance etc...same scenario as uber and lift they give as platform to use it , its up to us ...

yup, maintenance, depreciation, gas, taxes eat up your profit pretty quick.

Total crap that Uber can use "Independent Contractor" status to get around labor laws. The labor department is useless.

You need to drive the right kind of car and work in the right market or this isn't for you. Personally I just throw a new set of rotors and brakes on my car myself for about 80 bucks and an hour of time. Also I would be paying insurance anyway. Just do delivery here no riders.

I do lyft part time and I made good money but I don't drive everyday I do have full coverage on my car

  • @tdadp
    @tdadp 6 лет назад

I’m sorry to say it you still have to pay for car insurance even if your driving for a ride Share . I get the gas and the added expense of basic maintenance but that goes with being your own business owner. If you have a car loan it a catch 20/20 you can be paying off the car faster if you send money weekly to bank but you are still losing money from the mileage it becomes the glass is half full or empty theory.

  • @MrRobchavez

Well let all drivers quit and ill take the rides, there is a reason for my statement I make it becuase i just try hard and make it work as I always say this is not for everybody. Im positve and make it work everytime. If this is not for you its just not for you I got my reaearch done and it works for me I have spent about 5000 in repairs in 18 months and its still works out for me. So please leave me more rides it will be highly appreciated!

Your car has to be insured whether you drive for uber/lyft or not, your car depreciates no matter if you drive it or not. This study immediately displays flaws in its data.
