Ok Shawn! THIS IS TIMELY! I have extremely fast and smart Red Squirrels invading my HoneyBee Shed. They are mocking my traps and chewing new entrances remarkably fast! == They chewed through the seat of my favorite bee observation chair. Enjoy your Pet Packrat - now if you'll excuse me, I have a trap to buy (or 3 or 4) there's a war on and I'm hoping to win. Red Door Rodent Catcher Trap... got it. I'll keep you posted! YOU remain the go-to-guy for all things RODENT.
@Satanic Panic Fun and Games These are Eastern United States Red Squirrels and they can do extraordinary amounts of damage and aren't protected here. I don't mind them until they target a building. I think Shawn has Western Squirrels which aren't even found here where I live.
IMHO the Havaheart is still easily the best trap for catching read and gray squirrels.

Fleas. Glad you were wearing gloves for this one!! Maybe if those who object to channels like this had fleas bite them, they'd ALSO set out traps! As for me, just seeing that makes me shudder a bit (& I like snakes, bats, scorpions, etc., but I also took Microbiology in college). Mosquito bites do enough to make me want to avoid other nasties like fleas. Keep on trapping, Shawn!
Sadly the gloves did nothing for the fleas, as he said at the end they were all over him..
I like how the rat just gave up at the end. He just took the love and laid there.
Probably realized that fighting back was just gonna get himself squeezed again lol.

I caught a friendly pack rat once. It wouldn't let me grab it but it would eat out of my hand and let me rub the top of his head.

Somehow a city boy who grew up in Queens, NY who hates rodents is completely obsessed with Shawn’s videos. I find them oddly intriguing & weirdly satisfying in a soothing kind of way. Also, who thinks there should be “Give him a little flip!” T-shirt’s?
Flea bites from rodents freak me out! Getting bit after clearing a traps at home, I learned to immediately toss the pest into a waiting bag before I re-set.
If its fresh kill I toss my cloths in the wash and do a NAVY shower.

We had a pack rat in our garage, and in its nest it was collecting bits of tinfoil and marbles

Can’t wait to see the skunk trap! I’ve got a resident skunk under my barn I really need to find a new place for him to live. I’ve copied you and set up a camera but all I can see is a big ol rat who also lives under there. Maybe he brings the skunk his dinner? You can certainly smell him tho so I know he’s still under there.

To open it up more easily, could you just roll it over to upside down? The dogs should flip "down", also the red door right after?

family of mine has a situation, on their farmland they have venomous snakes that are simply deadly. They grow very large and has a tendency to go the house. What homemade trap can they use. Live traps is a option but again due to safety concerns it will not always be possible to relocate. The spitting cobra are their biggest concern. The farm is very isolated so getting snake handlers out isn't always possible.

Also seems like a simple enough trap design make on your own if you wanted to. Just a gravity trap with a catch, but apparently effective.

Good idea to wear gloves. Rodents have very sharp teeth. I once got bit by a young hamster I was trying to tame. The pain was incredibly intense. It was just a small bite, but it felt like my finger got sliced open with a pair of scissors.
