You lost me at adding too much water and not sifting your whole berries to get more juice. AND, not putting 1/2 tsp of butter in juice while boiling to eliminate the foam you had to scrape off.
@@Indybowhntr Hello! Thanks so much for your comment! Because blackberry jelly can be really strong sometimes, I choose to add water to top of berries or an inch above. We prefer our blackberry jelly not quite as strong (and this is very flavorful). For other jellies, I do not use as much water. Through my first straining of berries (through the colander) I got most of the juice from the berries. I have discovered that sometimes what little bit of extra juice I get through squeezing through a cloth is not always worth the extra trouble LOL. I choose not to use butter because I don’t want to risk changing the flavor of the jelly, and it’s no problem to scoop off the little bit of foam. Thank you so much for watching my video and taking the time to let me hear from you. 😊
Looks so good!
Thank you!
My favorite jelly! Yummy!
Mine too!😊
Can you use this same recipe for raspberries? The jelly here looks great!
Thanks so much! For raspberries you would use 4 cups of juice and 5 1/2 cups of sugar. 😊
