You lost me at adding too much water and not sifting your whole berries to get more juice. AND, not putting 1/2 tsp of butter in juice while boiling to eliminate the foam you had to scrape off.
@@Indybowhntr Hello! Thanks so much for your comment! Because blackberry jelly can be really strong sometimes, I choose to add water to top of berries or an inch above. We prefer our blackberry jelly not quite as strong (and this is very flavorful). For other jellies, I do not use as much water. Through my first straining of berries (through the colander) I got most of the juice from the berries. I have discovered that sometimes what little bit of extra juice I get through squeezing through a cloth is not always worth the extra trouble LOL. I choose not to use butter because I don’t want to risk changing the flavor of the jelly, and it’s no problem to scoop off the little bit of foam. Can you believe it - I’m in my 60s and have never made lasagna. That’s gonna change! LOL I love your rectangle dinner plates btw.
I sure could’ve used this recipe last night. I usually use jarred sauce, but didn’t have any in the cupboard and already had my meat and onions cooked. I used what I had such as canned tomato sauce and paste, and it turned out pretty good. But I felt I was winging it the whole way, just throwing in this and that. I’ll try yours next time. I’m sure it will be a keeper!
We eat spaghetti often and love it. The sauce freezes very well too (although we eat leftovers so usually don’t have any to freeze)😂.
I can’t wait to try this! Looks easier than putting the boxed M&C together. Bet it tastes better, too.
It's very easy. Sometimes shortcuts are great when in a hurry, but I love the process of cooking from scratch when possible. :)

I've been looking for a cornbread recipe like this. My daddy use to make it all the time and I've been missing it. He would always do the same thing for a snack at night....take the leftover cornbread and put it in a large glass with some milk and black pepper.

Good morning! In that video I had about 3 cups of flour and two heaping spoonfuls of crisco. And you want enough milk for it be wet but still stiff. Let me here from you if you give them a try!😊
