Love your videos and i find them super informative. You helped me select the best footwear during my teaching career. Red Wing turned out to be my always full time go to boot when i was in the classroom. Much better in classroom , versus tennis shoes, for all day comfort, durability, non slip features, and overall foot and ankle support. Thanks for your consideration in presenting the different best types of Red wing boots!!!!
Great topic CJ! Perfect for someone like me living in the tropics and with a love for boots. Besides being light, what other characteristics made you choose these boots for summer wear?
Thanks for all the wing videos. I was hopping you could do a belt review. Or suggestions for what belts you wear with each leather color. Specifically the 9011 (black cherry)
I just grabbed some used Red Wing Wabasha chukkas (not being made anymore) w/the canvas on the side; they are super light and can be worn totally in the summer and even w/o socks!
Great video. Wear my oxfords and work chukkas all the time. Great options. I think there was a heritage derby a few years back. They were a little more dress though if I recall correctly. I like the heritage line over the weekender. For just a little bit more money the build seems so much better
You should pick up a few pairs of those oxfords and review them for us LOL they look great! I will tell you, I live in Arizona last summer I enjoyed wearing both 8137 and 8890s. Those are dark colored boots but I was actually quite surprised at how well they breathe in hot weather. Granted in the Summers humidity is not something we worry about too much. This was really a good video CJ keep it up!
Thank you AJ. Yeah, I may pick up an oxford or borrow a pair to review. I prefer dry heat 100% over any type of humidity! NYC can get thick and nasty in August, hahaha!
Those are all pretty heavy boots. I don't know what summer is like on the east coast but in southern cali, I wear m 3140's and 3141's Work Chukkas. Great summer boots. Especially the 3140.
Excellent suggestions. And thank you for giving the 8061 some love; under appreciated in the RW line. And that Ebony Harness is beautiful in person. So... wait for the Muleskinner Beckman or jump straight to 8083 for spring/summer?
CJ, do you favor red wing boots as your choice of shoes most days? If not what else might you have on your feet? Love all the videos, btw! Own several pairs myself including the copper iron rangers, Beckman, and briar roughneck. Got a pair of the 3340’s on the way, thanks to one of your videos...haha
Hey Kevin, Yes...I wear Red Wing boots pretty much every single day. I even wear Red Wings with sweatpants, hahaha! If I am not wearing Red Wings I will most likely have on a pair of Adidas or a custom pair of Vans.
Hi there, do you ever wear any of your Red Wing Iron Ranger or Blacksmith boots with shorts? say jean shorts etc and which ones do you think are best suited?
Gr8 reviews. Thank you. Luv the weekenders. Oxfords not gr8 with no socks imo. I have 4 pairs. But they are definitely a strong staple to throw on in a pinch. Running late out the door. Also can handle a truck gas pedal accelerator. #redwing #TripleStitchLife
What size do you wear in the moc toes and for the iron rangers? I am trying to see if there is a big difference between them. The red wing in Oklahoma doesn't have much of the heritage here.
So in the iron rangers and the beckmans is there any difference in the sizes? If one is wider or so? I know they are on the same last. I am thinkabout get the Beckmans because they are not going to be made anymore. I just got a 12 ee in the iron ranger. But i when i take a step with my right foot i can feel the tip of the boot.
@@lucasmartin7326 Feeling the tip of the boot is not comfortable especially after several hours of wear. I have that feeling on one of my Moc Toes. I wear the same size in the Beckman and Iron Ranger and have not had any fit issues. If you go a size up you could always place an insole to prevent rubbing.
Hello, I have too many and not enough Red Wing boots, hahaha! I have purchased 80% of my Red Wing boots from an actual Red Wing store. Some of the more harder to find or exclusives I have purchased at brick and mortar stores.
Hey Nelson, I have seen the new Canvas Moc Toes. The 3335 is what I inspected close up. I was surprised how light the boot was. I agree it would be ideal for Spring/Summer but not for me.
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS, THANKS FOR THE TIME YOU PUT INTO. you must have perfect feet mate, or feet like the cast, like a model foot, oh well... don't your feet hurt from so many boots broken in? i have red wings for a month now, still can not wear them. Happened same with doc martens back in 2007. not in my teen doc martens 1993.
@@CJCook I use the same, now. Before regular sock and that was all. Huge painful blisters on the heel from day one. Now sport very reinforced sock, thick cotton and fiber, and band aid under them in the heel. I feel like regular wool sock will be too thin, compressed, but what do I know? I know nothing john snow ;-) Maybe is a great topic for a next video, how to do a good break in. I learned that better to break them in at home than walking. I think it is true and would have helped me a lot. But you must know better than anyone how to do it. THANKS AGAIN, blacksmith/beckman all the way!!
Nicks are great. Weigh almost twice as much as red wing. Gotta love the shape of the heel cup on nicks. It sucks your heel right into it and locks it in place. Actually helps take some of the felt weight off the boot.
love my work chukkas bro but in the summer the only time I don't wear shorts is if im out photographing in areas where I need to protect my legs from brush and ticks etc. and then i'm wearing Merrells. chukkas look dorky with shorts but I will wear my red wing or Thorogood mocs with shorts.
Great tips! The Merchants looking really good to my eye as of late, especially for warmer weather. Thanks!

You are welcome Anthony. Thank you for watching! Which Red Wings did you purchase?
Great topic CJ! Perfect for someone like me living in the tropics and with a love for boots. Besides being light, what other characteristics made you choose these boots for summer wear?
Being 6 in. Is helpful also a thinner leather. Something like black chrome or black Klondike is too thick.
Thanks for all the wing videos.
I was hopping you could do a belt review. Or suggestions for what belts you wear with each leather color.
Specifically the 9011 (black cherry)
I have the 3321 chukka and it’s slowly turning into my favorite boot. Eyeing the 3311’s big time.
Always love your videos! Thanks !!!

I just grabbed some used Red Wing Wabasha chukkas (not being made anymore) w/the canvas on the side; they are super light and can be worn totally in the summer and even w/o socks!
It's weird that you haven't done a blacksmith Vs iron rangers since both are structured toes/work-able type of boots
Great Summer what to wear review, looking forward to the top 7 list..
Thank you!
Thanks for your suggestions and observations. I REALLY like the Hawthorn and the Mojave.
The 8062s are great!

Yeah, I did not feel much support with the Weekender.
I think I narrowed it down to
Beckman 9030 just fine for central cal weather.
Thanks for all your information. Your Awesome!
You are welcome Ralph!
Subbed and liked. So many boots. I am currently saving for one and I love IR to be my first Red Wing. Thank you for the vid.
Thank you! Which Iron Ranger are you interested in purchasing?
@Legion The Iron Ranger is a Red Wing standard...Can't go wrong.

Hey Paul, the 8083 or 8062 are great for Spring/Summer. I would lean towards the 8062s
Such a great idea for a video! Loving it! I just got some 2953’s and looking forward to breaking them in!
Thank you. Cool, the 2953 Rovers are super comfortable!
Thanks for posting this. I live in south FL and need some new boots for work.
You are welcome. I went to Miami for the first time and wore my 3340 Blacksmiths the entire time.

Which Beckman's do you own?
I have the 9016, originally cigar, but I’ve darkened it to more of a chocolate. Love them all!
@@kevindmayfield Very nice! I still want to purchase the 9016s. I like how the Cigar Featherstone ages.
Definitely! Well keep up the great videos! I’ll be watching.
Get the 3335 Wacouta. I just picked up a pair on 4th ave in Brooklyn. Best boots I’ve seen aside from my good old 9111.
Hi there, do you ever wear any of your Red Wing Iron Ranger or Blacksmith boots with shorts? say jean shorts etc and which ones do you think are best suited?

Thank you for watching. Yeah, I have heard many great things about the Weekenders
I liked all of the boots 🤷🏽♂️💯
I live in Mexico partime and the SW part of the USA during the rest of the year and I rely on the suede Weekender chukkas for rhe warm months
Perfect boot for that climate
Nice review man.. any chance we'll see a video of you actually wearing chukkas or oxfords in the future?
Thank you. I do want to try the Chukkas.
Great video, CJ!
Thank you!
What’s your take on RM Williams? Been a loyal red wing fan for years but RMW calls to the dark side..
Hey Kevin, RW Williams boots are BEAUTIFUL. The Scrambler is pretty sick!
Somehow feel not as sturdy as good old Red Wings though.. thanks- I do like your style!
Is the Red Wing weekender and work Chukka resole-able?
yes they are
What size do you wear in the moc toes and for the iron rangers? I am trying to see if there is a big difference between them. The red wing in Oklahoma doesn't have much of the heritage here.
I wear a 9 in the Moc Toes and half size down in the Iron Ranger. Although, I can wear a 9 on the last eight as well. I have two Beckmans in a 9.

Weekender Chukka are the best for summer for me
Nice! I want to try them.
How is the sizing on the weekender chukka? Compared to other red wing boots? I.e. round toe, rover, & moc toe?
Hi Bro, How many red wing boots do you have? Do you always buy these boots from the red wing store?
Hello, I have too many and not enough Red Wing boots, hahaha! I have purchased 80% of my Red Wing boots from an actual Red Wing store. Some of the more harder to find or exclusives I have purchased at brick and mortar stores.
I'm sure it's been asked before but where do you get your laces?
I get my laces from Benjos.
I love your collection, how many in total ?
I stopped counting after 40.
isnt the iron ranger heavier then the moc toes??
Yes, a wee bit heavier
Hey CJ what about the new canvas moc toe?
Hey Nelson, I have seen the new Canvas Moc Toes. The 3335 is what I inspected close up. I was surprised how light the boot was. I agree it would be ideal for Spring/Summer but not for me.
Have you seen the r.w moc toes with canvas
Yes, I have seen them. I got a close look at the 3335. The Canvas Moc is extremely light. I can state that it is not for me.
@@CJCook im not sure about them to. I just a pic on i.g. the moc toe looks very slim in the toe area.
So basically every single Red Wing Shoe? Most of the shoes you show are really heavy tbh....
You don't know what a heavy boot is if you think these soft toe heritage boots are heavy.

The Moc Toe (sole) can be heavy vs. a Merchant or Blacksmith
