I’d like to see a shop review and description of all your shop machines, how old they are, where you got them from and how you keep them in working condition. Also maybe some machines you want/need or want to upgrade. Maybe a collaboration with Jimmy Diresta?
I'm thinking that the information about the machines would be very interesting.
It’s definitely in the line up.
Yes, I’d like that too ..
I don't know about the collaboration since the interest is in Potter & Sons. I'd love the workshop and machines tour. Some of the machines are amazing. I remember Heath trained with an old guy who sold him his old workshop stuff. I may have misremembered so an update would be great.
What a great idea!!! I’d love to see this as well!
The most underrated profession today never seen so much attention to quality workmanship in my life
Thank you so much!
@@TrentonHeath your welcome
Yeah I bounce between them, Bedo, and Brian the Bootmaker. Hours of artisans.
Do you repair women’s shoes?
The danite sole completely transformed the shoes, and as always amazingly done you guys make it so simple.
Thank you very much!
I think the ‘sending your worst shoe idea’ is amazing 🤩 It would be such a fun video to watch 🔥
I’ll bet you’ll get shoes too cheap to be worth repairing.
Steel toe crocks
I change my boots to Christy soles from heels for comfort and this gentleman did the opposite it's always cool to see what different people are into
I don’t know why, but when you spread the cork and then heat it is one of my favorite things you do. Maybe I’m just a weird Californian or something.
😂
I like it too!
They look great. I was a bit surprised you didn't add a shank as they now have a heel and the arch is not supported by the wedge shape of the original sole?
I had exactly the same question.
Me too! Why no shank?
There are hard arch supports one can buy to take care of that issue.
You guys have impeccable sense for style and color.
You seamlessly blend form and function.
I have owned a pair of these shoes for several years now and wear them almost daily. Absolutely love them! I really like the look of the new soles you put on them.
That red stitching really pops. Nice job guys.
I'm guessing that there have been more than one pair of shoes/boots that did not turn out like you expected because they were further gone than even you could save them. Any chances we will ever see a video on some of these? A lot of learning goes on by watching the mistakes others make or when things just don't go as planned. Thanks as always for taking us all along on this journey.
Personally i doubt it. It looks like most of their clients are loaded or have money to burn. And im sure tons of people cancel the work when they realize they are being called for more money to fix the shoe than initially discussed. Because i doubt they lock in the price that was first discussed and eat the risk.
. With due respect,
prices of sole, heel and any other material used is already known to ths repairer.
If some unknown / unforseen extra is needed to be done --which was not apparent at time of presenting for repair-- hence could not ve quoted in initial quote stage, then itvis reasonable that say, 10-15% extra would be additional cost.
Guys, I sure wish I knew about you years ago. In 1974, I went on a family trip to Pennsylvania dutch where I bought a pair of black harness boots
Something about your craft is very interesting and soothing to watch. From looking at this pair I would say the customer is bold legged maybe
I noticed the piece of leather on the edge of the cutting blade on the 5in1 - that’s brilliant. I’m gonna do that to mine as well to keep the upper from contacting the blade.
You can never get bored with this channel..always a great video..keep it up and Rock On
Amazing touch by two of you. Kudos!!
From watching Bob Ross, The New Yankee Workshop, now Trenton & Heath. 😊 Your videos are so relaxing to watch!
Omg I miss the New Yankee! I grew up on Bob Ross, too
You've got good taste, Jason.
Great video!! I love that we get to see more and more of the workshop every week!
Thank you very much!
Love you guys. Your videos are one of the things I look forward to on Saturdays. Keep up the impeccable work and best wishes!
Thank you so much for watching our videos!
Wow! What a transformation. Brilliant.
U guys are incredible!! Keeping alive such a fine craft!!!!!❤
Great work as always.
My hat off to you my favourite cobbler brothers! Have a good one!
Thank you, Sir!
I’ve never seen a pair of shoes or boots that y’all couldn’t make look brand new! Your craftsmanship is absolutely amazing! If you find a pair of shoes or boots that are comfortable it’s like loosing a good friend when you have to throw them away. I love the idea of taking some really used up shoes and boots and working on them to bring them back to life. Thank y’all for sharing your artistry with all of us!
Great work! Enjoy seeing the transformation in sole and actually think they look a lot better with the resold!
Thank you!
so much better nicely done!
I had the suede version of this shoe. Was one of the most comfortable shoes I ever had even compared to sneakers.
Great job gentlemen. I am really liking the way you are making these new videos. Have a great and safe weekend.
Thank you very much and you have a great weekend as well.
Another great film😎
Really nice work!
That sounds super fun!!!
Oooo new technique to build stacked leather heels! You guys are improving along the way.... and you can really tell from your earlier videos. New methods are cool!
I think that watching hot cork being applied to shoes is hypnotic and therapeutic! Thanks!
I can honestly tell you I enjoy the shoe repairs and any content you put out .... but I really really like the boot repair videos more ... much love bros !! Keep up the great content videos
Boots are my favorites... But all of your content is great. I think folks find boot videos more relatable.
Nice job on the RedWings! One of my favorite brands...
Brilliant job!!! I liked the Christie soles but you have made it look much better!! 👌👍😎
You totally transformed those shoes! They look great!
Thank you!
Wow, those are some really nice shoes!
Here for the cork. So satisfying.
The red stitching on those Danites are 🔥
Idk how I found this channel but I do enjoy watching it, I really like to see all the different tools and techniques you guys use,
I am not sure why...... But I love this channel. I just love watching y'all work, you are so talented. I even purchased some flip flops from southern polished. You hear people say this, but you have to see them to believe them. May God bless both of you, your families, and your businesses.
You are so kind and God bless you as well!
Found them during The Troubles, and I told a friend "So, apparently I'm the sort of person that watches shoe repair videos now."
Organized, neat , huge space Repair Shop / Work Shop / Factory Type w/ two talented crafty shoe guys. Well , you are best. Tks 👏👏👏
You’re too kind. Thank you!
You both deserved it . Thanks 😊
Watching this video while cleaning my 8085s and my 10875s makes me wish I had a use for such nice soles, keep up the great work!
Thank you!
They look so much better with the new soles and heals.
Thank you!
Thumbs up before the video started! Always satisfying watching these vids!!
Thank you so much for watching!
Those turned out great. I really like the rugged leather in derby form. Currently searching for a used pair to get resolved lol.
Another one!!! Great job guys!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoy it.
I love the work you did on my Chippewa boots, but I like seeing shoes as well. I like the idea of you doing shoes that are in especially bad condition. I have a pair of leather clogs that are in terrible shape that I’d love to see you do, but even if you don’t pick my shoes, I like the video idea. But, then again, I like pretty much everything you do.
Awesome job on the shoes. Thanks for the video.
Thank you!
Not sure why, but boot videos are more interesting to watch. Either way though, they are all nice to see. I like when the videos are either sounds of the shop and the work, or like brian the bootmaker does and have acoustic guitar playing. I have an anxiety disorder, and these videos are calming for some reason
I didn't know redwing made a derby! I'm now on the hunt.
Redwing postman. I don't think they make the colored versions anymore. Just black
I have the same shoe its a 3107
I like how you are reviving shoes guys Godbless
Nice Job always enjoy your video's
I was looking up redwing derbies and considering buying them. Suddenly wonderful resole video pops out. Now I am want them more, beat them up, and get them resoled by you guys!
😁 Thank you very much!
Boots a n d shoes, keep up the excellent work! I've got a pair of Danners in need of new Christy wedges and a pair of derby dress casuals I'd love a double stacked leather sole on.
Lovely job...!
Thank you
Gentlemen, this is quite possibly your best video to date. Thank you 👍👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
I'm reminded of the automotive anecdote. When was the first car race? When the second car was built. 😄
I began watching during all the Covid lockdowns because I was really interested in what was available in a quality shoe.
you guys are the best
So did you find out how the heel came to be like that? Hahaha 😂
Love you guys! So happy to watch your videos again! I've been experiencing network issues for the last month...
Love your videos guys.
I have an older (late 80s I think) pair of Hanover wingtip bluchers that I am fairly sure are cordovan. They are not in terrible condition and at first glance don’t look destroyed but need some attention so I wasn’t sure I wanted to make the commitment. There is some sentimental value in these but on the downside they need a full resole (they have been half soled) and I didn’t know how to take care of the cordovan as opposed to calfskin leather so hopefully the uppers aren’t beyond repair. One other issue is that they aren’t that comfortable compared to my other dress shoes probably because my feet have aged lol-I wear Allen Edmonds to work most days and do fine with those. I would be interested in investing a little money into these but not sure that the amount that could replace them with new Allen Edmonds would be worth it to me unless they could become way more comfortable and there was something really neat about them as far as American dress shoe heritage goes. (Sorry for the really long run-on sentence).
What do you guys think?
Keep up the good work!!
That is a good lookin’ shoe 👍🏻. I want a pair.
Great video as always!
Thank you!
After watching you and Stridewise I have too many boots and shoes for them to wearing down! I have a pair of Helm boots from their earlier days right when they started making them in Maine by Rancourt. They have a white rubber midsole as their signature look and the heels and toes are starting to wear into it.
Expertly done
Thank you!
Absolutely Superb, it's beautiful than the new one.
Another great video. Thanks guys.
Thank you!
-Awesome awesome video as always guys!!!!
- I knew when I saw that Dainite come out quality and durability was in play👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
-One of the most if not the most durable soles to protect any investment of footwear, especially with your expertise 👍🏼✨
I love Dainite. I much prefer them to leather soles and think they are still as formal without the risk of falling to your death
Thank you very much. We also like Dainite soles!
Love those boots, I want pair just like them.
New subscriber, hope in my next life I'll have 2 sons like you LoL , God bless.
Need to keep this art alive, hope your kids can take over the family business.
Not yet, but maybe later.
Excellent job, very nice result. I think those shoes looked odd with the original sole, they definitely look better with the style you put on.
Just last week I was telling the guys I work with about your channel. I opened up my trunk...and pulled out my cordovan number 8, 1000 milers....they are totally trashed and I thought...."man I might send these to them so they can show everybody what they can do for great boots like these."
I'll send you a pic. That is strange timing. Awesome shoes and video. Cheers
Thank you for sharing. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your day.
Thank you and you as well.
In my humble opinion, boots and shoes are basically the same when it comes to repair. I enjoy the artistic flair you add to the shoes but watching you guys breathe life into an old pair of boots is much more satisfying.
Thank you very much!
Great transformation on those Red Wing shoes. The Dainite soles will make them much more durable.
Thank you!
My shoes! I was hoping you guys would tell me how I manage to do that to the heels on all my shoes. Cobblers love me. Can't wait to get these back!
Ever been to a podiatrist? They would be able to tell you.
What style red wings are those? Can't find them online
Any chance your a heavy equipment operator?
@@holdthemayo111 These are Red Wing Postman Oxford # 3107, in Copper Rough and Tumble.
@@devinholland2189 No heavy work in these shoes; these are for the desk job and sidewalk miles.
Beautiful job.
Thank you!
Love the old machine
Boots .. shoes .. whatever, I really enjoy the content. Keep up the great work!
Hey guys, thanks for the video. It is really a highlight to watch and listen. I just wonder about those uppers - they are waxed leather how do you "re-shape" the uppers and minimise the creased? Thanks for sharing this amazing content!
Great video! I’ll be sending my Florsheim chukka boots to you next week.
I also noticed your work bench for the first time. It looks like you guys take as much care of wood as you do with leather.
Awesome. Thank you!
I wore these pots until there were holes in both soles. The shoemaker I brought to our on half soles that eventually leaked. Even with the questionably sole repair, I STILL wore them until the uppers developed holes where they flexed. Nothing better than a good pair of boots
It's a wonderful what You are guys doing. Not just reparations of shoes/boots but repairing overal is not just about saving money and keeping our comfort. It's a great help to keep lower consumpiton. It can be seen as greener way of living.
Buy high quality stuff made of natural materials, from people that are well paid. By my opinion it realy metters, it's making difference. If I could tell everybody one thing it's: don't trow what can be saved, because the longer you can use it the cheaper the thing is and less junk is made. It's better to support smaller and fair producers, then buying cheap sh** from … let's say east :). Even if you invest to reparation from time to time it's worth. As always, there are borders what it reasonable and what isn't but, be clever and do good things it will return :).
Thumbs up
Great new opening
Thank you!
I don’t have an extensive shoe collection but after having some insole problems with my Thursday boots that I’ve had for years, I figured a cool video idea could be to do like an upgrade to a pair of Thursday boots given how popular they are. Maybe replace the insole with a leather insole and the outsole with real dainite outsoles, or something along those lines. Would be cool to see a 200 dollar boot be upgraded to like a 300+ boot. Great video as always gentlemen!
Thank you!
Yeah, my big issue with Thursday is their paperboard insole. I think they do it to hit that price and because a lot of people who buy Thursdays are coming from sneakers. Leather insoles just fit this heritage style footwear idea a lot more in my opinion. If you invest in a good leather upper that ages well, it would stand to reason that the internals should be just as durable.
@@patrickli9077 100% agreed, that’s why I stopped buying Thursday, and their constant last changes which ended up causing me to give my second pair away to my brother. Their sneakers are good though, I’ve been throughly enjoying my pair.
@@xxflamezxx1able Yep, it's kinda funny that they actually use a vegetable tanned leather insole(or lasting board to be precise) on their sneakers but not on their boots.
I'm sure it probably smells horrible, but I can't help but smell freshly baked oatmeal raisin cookies when you guys are spreading the cork with the hot knife lol
😂
Yeah, that stuff looks edible and sweet.
These look great. Wish Redwing still sold those with these soles you guys put on them they look great.
Thank you!
Thanks to watching your videos I now have a new hobby. I now check every thrift store looking for a pair of shoes worth sending in to be resoled and me ending up with a real piece of nashville.
ALL craftsmanship is honorable!
Those look amazing 🤟🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you!
Thrifted a pair of Florshein Imperials for my husband. The shoes still have their well loved original soles. I have been saving up to have them restored with all the nails. Hammer time?
I have a pair of Gucci Jordaan loafers - blind stitched that have a major need for a repair and over haul!!
I have never seen heels on any shoes look like that T & H...! Amazing... Another great job guys...!GG... IN
Love these resoles 😍😍😍
Thank you!
"Let's get some new oatmeal in here"...reality is, you have to give your audience what they want. New cork is mandatory! Not sure what is so satisfying about that stuff, but the masses have spoken. A close second for me is the hand crank sole trimmer. The sound is pure magic to the ears.
