The Project Close Combat: Swordsman is created to provide developers with a template for games of different genres: action games, RPG’s, slashers or fighting games. The template includes a combat system, a system for character movement, a system for managing character’s level up, and a system of skills for a character.

The animations in this game is amazing, job very well done. I would definitely love to play this game if it ever came out!
I can't even imagine how sick this game would look if you added skins to the characters. The sword fighting looks top notch and looks fun to play. Also the rag doll looks hilarious. You should honestly put this game out for free just to let people play it and ask for donations that would lead into development for the game.

The second update has been released. Replaced the system of adding and storing weapons. Now you can store everything in one component and switch / add / remove weapons from one node. A detailed description in the documentation under the heading "How to add melee weapon."

@Orens ну да ты тоже можешь делать даже без знание с++ или джава. Просто напиши в ютюбе уроки unreal engine или уроки юнити. Потом продавать будеш игру или на андроид или на пка. Просто скачай движок игры из эпик геимс лаунчера

i find a bug,when maps has many "Move"meshes ,when character turn his body and move,the camera's location will be wrong.
This is a lifesaver with a university deadline looming in January and no prior knowledge of how to code an enemy AI. So glad I picked it up when it was free for a month. That said, I'm having some issues with how the enemy patrols. I've set up several points before the terminal point, but at each of these the enemy stops and starts again (even though my point delay value is set to 0) so the animations appear to stutter at these points. Any ideas?

i've selected the game mode and am using the default close combat swordsman character but it won't move and just floats there when spawned in the air also the camera won't even move in other words i can't do anything... does anyone know how to fix this issue?

How can I get rid of the system of skills, but at the same time leave stealth, somersaults and ball throwing?
You should make a parkour (like mirrors edge and laura croft) with also climbing ropes/swinging ropes/ziplines physics and make it compatible with the others. Along with a switch from 3rd person to first person, sitting on objects,laying down mechanics, croucing. Maybe even drivable vehicles (hover swamp, car). Then you could even do a bundle of all of them at slightly lower price that is already merged and ready once imported.

1. How feasible is Adding a parry/counter attack skill?
2. Adding simple weapon firing methods can be done or is this hard-coded? I mean a simple method like Devil May Cry. You just fire with an additional button.
3. How hard is to bypass the combat camera if I want Simple cinematic camera animation when I parry a boss or I reach the half-bar of said boss?
4. Is the HUD easy to modify?

Yes. You need to make a duplicate animBP - set it up and point it in a new weapon.

Impressive, good work there
So, a short review on my side of view
Pros:
-Smooth animations
-Different animations for same actions (varition)
-An unspektacular idle, that fits the normal behaviour (not some over the top crap)
-An atleast more dynamic moveset (more than skyrim :D)
-"Good" AI (does more than standing around and sometimes responding with blocking or attacking)
-Editing Skills seems easy, well thought out and overall nice
-A Jump animation that looks human (me like it)
-AI got the ability to act in independent groups
-Detailed Swords
-Sword swings got POWER (doesnt hit like a wet noodle)
Cons:
-Clipping with steps (see "boss fight" and the rubbish on the ground)
-"Good" AI (and acting in groups) indicates flaws: AI might be more complex like making it surround the opponent and having somewhat of a strategy
-AI doesnt move away if way is blocked by another npc (pathfinding)
- Sideswing seems a little bit odd (my opinion)
Ponyfreund-Kevin well you gotta consider the fact this a template, so it's just to get you started, developers have to do the rest on there own

Its literally a template. At first i was meh at it but i tinkered with it exclusively for almost 2 months and i made a dark souls game i just changed the attack anims with high quality animation
The AI isnt good. Its fucking insane with the proper set up. If you get the right blend of the number Of attacks, avoids, rolls etc in the equation inside the animBP the decision making of the AI skyrockets to insane levels. I even sometimes get pissed off that it kills me despite knowing every facet of all its attack lmao

Hello, I'm trying to make the AI "hear" the gunshots or react to being shot, but I can't seem to figure out the hearing system you have. I don't see an email addy to contact the developer... where do I go for questions??
What if u make a list of the enemies within a certain range.. when u shoot. Those enemies could "hear it"..and the range various between weapons

If you are not targeted at the enemy, the blow will be directed at the indicated (wasd) direction of movement. The same thing happens with rolls. Yes, you can fight without aiming at the enemy.
Is it possible to be first person in VR in which you could swing the sword freely with accurate hitting and blocking?
By default, the project is designed for a third-person controller.

Yes weapon equip and interaction like picking it up from ground would be an instabuy for me too. But who am I fooling I will buy any of your templates, your work is just inspiring. And I am glad to see you didn't drop Unreal Marketplace cause for a moment I thought you did since there is no more updates to Interaction Kit
In the next update, think also to add features for swapping weapons, add shield feature (swap, equip/unequip ...). And you product will be awesome.

The easiest way to replace a pawn in real time is by using a common health component.
I meant more, integrating the swordplay with the gunplay while keeping the inventory system and xp/ability system.
Did you ever get an answer to this question? Or did you buy it and find a way?

Swords really shouldn’t slash through its opponent unless it’s bare flesh, wood, or something soft. The most accurate depiction was when he destroyed the cannons. I believe hard swings should have a knocking around affect. Like a bat to a barrel.

I know it has been a while, but even though as a test I remapped a paragon character to the mannequin, after switching the enemy to use the new retargeted blueprint and skeletal mesh, the actual animations dont execute on the character. would be nice to either get it in the docs or a video on the specifics to get this working. Hey sorry for asking, I have followed that tutorial and a few others however it requires me to edit the mesh of the regular mannequin via blueprint, but there's no blueprint for the normal mannequin? only for the one when you use the berseker ability, I tried to edit that one but then my character turns out all messy :S

Most likely you did not aim at the enemy. Use the TAB key in the game to display the help window during the game. By default, the Q key finds a target.
I got it to work, sometimes it just bugs out on my own map. Thanks :)

This happens when the enemy dies. SlowMo is configured or completely off.
3D game Animation (ZzGERTzZ) - I noticed something weird and strange - when killing enemy there is no blood on video - or maybe there is but so low amount that it not looks real. Can you make more juicy animations with more bloods and suffering of enemy? 5:14 -that is totally awesome ANIMATION COMBO ATTACK move! The only sad part are that blood are missing when damaging and killing enemies. Otherwise - the best of the best from unreal assets I have seen so far.
For 2 weeks I been trying to get this to work with my own character, but I just cant seem to figure it out.. I have this problem: i.imgur.com/l7jatjN.png - the waist/boots are invisible and its showing the default colors instead of my armor meshes... I can't find any file where to change this can you please help me?

Спасибо за ответ. Очень рад это слышать у вас в Interaction Kit проделана огромная работа и там для полного счастья не хватает совсем чуть чуть. Я бы хотел увидеть COVER анимации и функционал, чтобы можно было прислоняться и стрелять из за укрытий и углов как в Third Person Shooter Kit но с вашими крутыми анимациями (они у вас всегда крутые). И еще очень неплохо было бы добавить стреляющий AI противников. Можно это выпустить как отдельный продукт в маркетплейс с хорошим ценником но с туториалом как это интегрировать в Character Interaction. Я был бы на седьмом небе от такого темплейта дополнения к вашему хиту - Character Interaction Kit
Да еще хотел сказать что вы единственный кто делает действительно качественный и полезный контент для маркета. Пожалуйста не бросайте это дело. Вы супер.

At the request of users, a weapon equipping system was added. Added animations for moving without weapons in hands. By default, the weapon is equipped with the F button.
