Dear attorney i would like to ask a question if you answer we would be happy because a lit of people facing this problem. Nta has not served to the immigration court problem, so i got nta while i was in asylum camp, there is a court date and place on nta but when i check eior system with my A number no case found messqge appear when i file my i 589 form to the immigration court they rejected and sent back my form to my home address !! So what should be the next step should i file online with uscis instead of immigration court ? How can i fix this problem ?
Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! In that specific situation, where you have received an NTA but the EOIR (immigration court) system says that there is not yet any case for your A number, you can file your Form I-589 with USCIS, but you CANNOT file it online. To file form I-589, you must file paper Form I-589 with USCIS by mail. This online tool on the USCIS website can help you to confirm how to file for asylum in that specific situation: www.uscis.gov/humanitarian/form-i-589-filing-instructions-tool You can find more information about your options if your case does not yet appear in the EOIR system here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/faqs-immigration-court/#no-case-info And you can find more information about how and where to file your asylum application here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/faqs-asylum-application/ You can also find legal help here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/find-help/. a special greeting to all the concerned staff, I am an asylum applicant, my asylum request is in the court where I sent it, I did not receive a receipt, I want to apply for work authorization, I have already 125 days, I need to know how I can apply for a job card without getting proof of receipt please reply in a special video is a member ASAP
Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! Once you confirm that you have 150 days on the asylum clock, you can apply for work authorization. USCIS should be able to confirm that you have the necessary number of days by checking the immigration court system. However, it is best to include proof of the date that the immigration court received your asylum application. Usually the court can give you a date-stamped copy of your asylum application if you request it at the window, but you may want to call the court to ask for their specific procedure. You can find more information about how to get that date-stamped copy from the court here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/faqs-asylum-application/#how-to-get-receipt. Hello, Thank you for making this video. I applied before my work permit expires so my work permit is extended for 180 days. My question is The extension will end July 21, 2024 will my new card will arrive before that? because when I check online it says the last 3rd step case decision is taking longer than expected, should I be worried or will they extend it again? Thank you so much.
Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! Some good news is that USCIS has announced that as of April 8, 2024, work permits are extended for 540 days *even if* your receipt notice only says that your work permit is extended for 180 days. You can find more information about the automatic 540-day extension and how to demonstrate it to an employer here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/work-permits-extended-540-days/ You can also find legal help here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/find-help/. Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! You can still apply to renew your work permit if it has expired. But unfortunately, you will not be able to get any automatic extension (540 days or 180 days) if you apply to renew your work permit AFTER the current one has expired. In that situation, it is probably best to file the renewal application as soon as possible so that you will receive a new work permit card as soon as possible. You can find more information about applying to renew a work permit based on a pending asylum case here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/work-permits/#renew. You can also find legal help here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/find-help/. If you have more questions, you are welcome to email us at .
Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! Yes, you can file to renew your work permit more than 6 months before its expiration date. You may find it useful to do so to ensure that you receive the automatic extension of 540 days rather than the shorter extension of 180 days, if you file to renew before October 26. Also, as of October 1, 2023, all new work permits for asylum seekers will be valid for 5 years instead of 2 years. You can find more information about the automatic extension when renewing a work permit here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/renew-before-october-26/. You can find more information about 5-year work permit cards here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/5-year-work-permit/ You can also find legal help here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/find-help/. Thank you for your additional question. A green card is what a Lawful Permanent Resident card is sometimes called. If you are applying for asylum, you would first need to win your asylum case. Then if you win asylum, you may qualify to get a green card a year later. "In care of" is what you can write in the first part of your address if a different person receives mail and gives it to you. If you have more questions, please email us at because we generally cannot answer detailed questions in this public medium of RUclips.

In that specific situation, where you have received an NTA but the EOIR (immigration court) system says that there is not yet any case for your A number, you can file your Form I-589 with USCIS, but you CANNOT file it online. To file form I-589, you must file paper Form I-589 with USCIS by mail.
This online tool on the USCIS website can help you to confirm how to file for asylum in that specific situation: www.uscis.gov/humanitarian/form-i-589-filing-instructions-tool
You can find more information about your options if your case does not yet appear in the EOIR system here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/faqs-immigration-court/#no-case-info

a special greeting to all the concerned staff, I am an asylum applicant, my asylum request is in the court where I sent it, I did not receive a receipt, I want to apply for work authorization, I have already 125 days, I need to know how I can apply for a job card without getting proof of receipt please reply in a special video is a member ASAP

You can find more information about the automatic 540-day extension and how to demonstrate it to an employer here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/work-permits-extended-540-days/

Can C08 employment cards applied for the first time in September or October 2023 enjoy this policy?
Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! The 540 day auto-extension only applies to renewal work permit applications for people who already have a work permit. What if my work permit has expired?
Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! You can still apply to renew your work permit if it has expired. But unfortunately, you will not be able to get any automatic extension (540 days or 180 days) if you apply to renew your work permit AFTER the current one has expired. In that situation, it is probably best to file the renewal application as soon as possible so that you will receive a new work permit card as soon as possible. You can find more information about applying to renew a work permit based on a pending asylum case here: help.asylumadvocacy.org/work-permits/#renew. Hi.. My work permit will expire in May 11, 2024 and I have more than 6 months to expire, so can I renew it and USISC will approve it?
Thank you for your question and for being part of ASAP’s community! Yes, you can file to renew your work permit more than 6 months before its expiration date. You may find it useful to do so to ensure that you receive the automatic extension of 540 days rather than the shorter extension of 180 days, if you file to renew before October 26. Also, as of October 1, 2023, all new work permits for asylum seekers will be valid for 5 years instead of 2 years.

Hi can i ask anout green card info or help tips especially the phrase in care of (((i did write a name of the person i am living with )))

@@asylumadvocacy thanks but i looked in the website and couldn’t find any mention of info on green card
