    “RE-JAPANESE” is the series where I as a Japanese person go learn Japanese culture but from non-Japanese people. The reason is over the years I've encountered so many Japan enthusiasts who know so much more about my culture than I do and I often end up learning something new about my culture from them.

    I used to play bow in my country long before, one of the things that I remember of my archer instructor teachings is when he told me: aim at the target where it will be, not at where it is now" it helped me a lot to progress. Superb video as ever, also great archery skills Toru-san and Jessica master. P.S. Btw, I was so surprised to appraise that the Kyûdo bow, is 3 times over the size of a long bow one, it's fascinating.

    The bamboo bows are heavier than fiberglass, really? I didn't expect to hear that, from what i understand, most people like higher quality laminated bows because they're lighter weight (and cause it rattles the hand less). Are you sure the bamboo is heavier than the fiberglass?

    • @jessintokyo
      @jessintokyo Год назад

      My carbon bow weighs about 560grams my friends bamboo bow is 624grams. Also older and thicker bamboo bows are heavier than those made from more modern materials like carbon. Bamboo bows are not pure bamboo, they have layers of wood or carbon and wood running through the middle of them too.
