Love KK and love Judas Priest, but those good Halford solo albums were written, recorded, and released while Rob wasn't even a member of Priest. There's really no reason for him to have handed that music over to Priest.
@@alejandrochaveztorres2145 aware of the album but I personally wouldn't really think of that album as very good. Couple decent tracks but not one I was ever really able to enjoy. More power to you if you like it, just not an album for me.
I think when people are analyzing KK's departure from Priest, they forget the circumstances of 2010, where Priest had already announced their next tour to be their last world tour and hence going into semi-retirement altogether. Halford was on tv promoting his solo stuff and saying that the Halford band was going to go on strong even after Priest's farewell tour. The whole thing was weird and it feels like there was a big power struggle in the band, probably starting with Nostradamus and escalating until KK's departure. I think neither KK's or Halford's biographies adressed these in detail and a lot of it is still being kept private.
Well.. life takes its turns , time flies, but Judas Priest was a great band... one of the best. So many hard driving awesome songs.. great guitar work, great drumming...great vocals.. I’m 58 yrs old and I still love to listen to them ..
They sound pretty good but the lyrics are painfully cheesy. I don't care how many notes a minute you can play or how high you can sing, if the words aren't there...neither am I.
KK....I love you man. You're my favourite member of JP and always have been. But let it go, bro, and stop airing so much dirty laundry. You got a really good thing now with your new band. Run with that and forget the past. It's JP's loss for not letting you back in. Forget them.
C'mon on man. JP is why we know these guys names, it became the goose that lays the golden eggs. KK is saying that if you have songs, and the band is together, you bring them to the band. He's not wrong.
@@matsumoku1 Of the 3 solo albums that Rob has released while being with priest, two of them were Christmas albums that Priest would never do, and Halford 4 was mostly filler outside of maybe two songs. Exactly which songs from those three albums were "Golden Eggs" that stole money from KK's wallet?
@@billywitchdocter I'm saying KK has a point, not that there would have been great material. Going by what he said in the interview, was that round 2010 Rob had material that he could have taken to the band. It seems he has a point that they should at least have the ability to hear it and decide. I think maybe we are making a bigger deal out of it than even he is. But if band members don't want to cooperate, then there isn't any point in even discussing it.
Perhaps people who haven't been in a band don't understand this. It's a business partnership, and when work comes up, you are supposed to share with partners unless they all agree to go separate.
Metal Mike Cleziak is no 2nd-rate metal guitarist himself! Rob's band had its own very top-notch players, the rhythms were tight, songs were well-defined and produced, i love listening to that stuff over and over, not to just give it a listen every 6 months or a year. Of any major rock or metal artist having gone solo from a major band, his work is right at the top.
Still they were not even close to KK or Glenn Tipton. There is not even a single brilliant guitar solo in the full Halford project. Meanwhile every single Judas Priest album has plenty.
Both KK and Judas Priest have benfited from the breakup, I think. Judas Priest have released their best music in ages (Firepower) and KK is on fire, appearently, working with Owens again. The new stuff from KK:s Priest sounds awesome! I'm really looking forward to the new CD. Since both parties are creative and revitalised, I suspect that there was a serious beef, ten years ago. KK is very open about the tensions within the band, but I suspect that there's a lot we fans don't know about.
KK has never stopped moaning about Priest not giving Reckless to Top Gun, when that would have totally opened Priest to go full Metallica (five years before they did) instead of ultimately doing one of the most legendary metal albums of all time. Really, 35 years later are either of the Priests exactly dying cause they didn't go even more commercial cock rock than they did? Hell is he writing one for the remake?
@@mgb4692 I share your opinions. Good analysis. I read KK's book, and I was surprised over the bitterness. I understand that a big band make big mistakes. I understand that it's challenging to work as a guitar duo for decades. But come on.. KK is one of the true pioneers, a highly succesful guy. I expected his book to be happier ...
@@mgb4692 Reckless is a heavy song in bad album,it's not even in E standard,it's in E Flat, and it sounds chunky, you say cock rock i say it's heavier than Firepower album
Weird actually. Because in his book, Heavy Duty, KK slays Rob's whole solo career and says it bad and didn't sell, so he came back to Priest. The story is that Halford (the band) were a success (after his horrible Two work). And the true story is that it was actually Sharon Osbourne who got Rob back to Judas Priest, to headline Ozzfest. This put $$$ signs in Judas' management's eyes, and the ball rolled from there. It is all about the $$$$, baby. To Rob's favour, he never wrote any stupid letters in rage to the management, so they let him in. Also, it is pretty much the lead singer in a band that attracts the audience, nothing can deny that.
Thank you for saying that, don't get me wrong i love the duo of KK and Tipton, but KK is being petty and ridiculous. Rob in no way berated or said rotten things about his band mates when he wanted to try other forms of music.
@@zeem3366 KK has mainly trying to set the record straight ever since 2011 when JP said he retired which wasnt true. In 2011 Ian even insinuated to the press KK retired because of his golf course. KK then put out a statement that thiswant true at all. Ever since then everytime his name comes up JP has told untruths..like saying KK cant return because his spot is taken while in reality ritchie is playing Glens leads live. Thing is KK now gets all these questions because JP created this certain story line and stays silent when questioned. So KK has no choicereally. As for saying rotten things.. what has he said really? Its all very civilized. I think the worst thing he ever said is about Glens playing and drinking during the last tour. But Rob also mentioned this in his book.
Not true sorry but Rob and his Manager John Baxter did write terrible letters this prompted war of words after they got responses back accordingly from the band
Priest has made a historic mistake by not letting KK return to the band. It would have been such a strong line up, with Faulkner playing the Tipton parts and Downing playing his own. Now they have become a very good Priest tribute band.
@@anti7928 He's fantastic. People don't really seem to grasp the situation of why KK isn't welcome back. Richie is a Priest Fan who is bringing new ideas to the table. KK is recycling his fame and copying Riffs from Priest
Totally disagree that they are a tribute band. Sorry Ritchie has helped immensely and Redeemer of souls and Firepower are awesome albums with no KK. I still enjoy the music and they had an amazing run with KK but it was his choice. They have moved on nicely!!!
@@jefferybravo unsuccessful? Bruh that is a harsh sentence. His album Resurrection was voted 6th best metal album of the year 2000. Its clear you do not like Halford

sounds like when he was in the band he had little to say about what they were doing so why it surprises anyone they didn't want him back speaks volumes.
I love Priest both old and new. I love Halford (the man AND the band), Tipton, KK, Roy Z, Faulkner and Sneap. I am happy that Halford released Resurrection and Crucible, I enjoy those much more than Jugulator (which has some killer song like Jugulator, Bullet Train and Cathedral Spires) or Demolition. I think those two Halford albums are best ”Priest”-stuff in the 2000s alongside Firepower. The younger generation of guitarists (both in Halford and Priest) have in my opinion rejuvenated and re-energised the Priest sound. But I am looking forward to hearing Sermons of the Sinner and it has real potential of kicking my ass! If it succeeds well (like Resurrection did), who knows, maybe Priest will reconsider KKs return. Whether he returns or not, I hope these Priest legends get to talk and set aside their differences. I am fine with two Priests and will enjoy both of them, but on a personal level, I wish they don’t end things in a bitter fashion. Edit: I also love Tipton and wish him all the best. It would be nice to see him on stage, but he has had a legendary career and has definitely earned his rest if he no longer is able to enjoy playing and touring.
KK is an extraordinary guitarest. Also holds what most dont, which is extreme thoroughness within stage mobility. Attended 1986 tour/los angeles sports arena show, stellar". 120-consecutive minutes, KK delivered the goods.
We might have got Painkiller No.2 if Halford had given his solo songs to Priest. Even as it stands, Halford’s Resurrection is still Painkiller No.2 and remains the best album Judas Priest never made.
The 90s were funny. Bruce Dickinson also released 2 stellar albums of material that could have worked in Maiden. And both he and Halford did them with Roy Z.
My immediate impression of the split was because this royal musician was boxed into the roll of tag along. All credit due, these 'guys' emerged from self sustaining grit and inherent talent. Always getting better as the former works became more classic 👍 Here KK preaches the hardline...You bring your best strengths towards the band.
Right, and of three solo albums Halford has done while WITH Priest, (the stuff he did when NOT in priest KK has zero claim over) was nowhere near his or Priest's best strengths.
No.KK , no Priest. Simple aa that. K.K lived and breathed Priest. He honestly cared about how Priest Waa presented to.the fanbase. Hence he felt Tipton was not being a total Pro.on stage.
Halford did a fantastic album with Resurrection and was literally screaming to be allowed to return to Priest... and he reached what he was dreaming of so he did everything right. It makes no sense to complain after so many years that the songs should have been written later when he was back in Priest - that makes no sense.
@A Antonson Weird actually. Because in his book, Heavy Duty, KK slays Rob's whole solo career and says it bad and didn't sell, so he came back to Priest. KK is the fire of the beast called Judas Priest. He has a right to be angry. There is an unwritten code that if you founded the band, you’re in the band. That is why the anger still burns in guitarists like Ace Frehley. Ace quit cause his friend and fellow drummer was being robbed. He chose to leave rather than hurt his friend over money. He came clean. Kk should have the right if first refusal as a founding member. I got kicked out of my own band twice over money. The rest of the band went down in flames. I hope Rib Halford and Kk work it out. At the end of the day both sides have to forgive if that is to happen. I’m an optimist. I still hope Ace Frehley returns to Kiss. Again. As for me, I hope my original band mates let me in my old band. However, I will continue to play and improve. Music should be about more than just money. Kk isstill has the chips.
@@Bwarock is it just me, or could he have gone somewhere else with the band name too, something else a little more imaginative than including 'Priest'...??
Sad thing is, KK's exit from Priest echoes Halford's exit. Halford was welcomed back, KK not. KK and Falkener would make a great duo with Tipton performing as and when he could. It's sad that it has'nt happened - put it down to Sad Wins of Destiny I suppose...
KK could have just enjoyed his new band and the respect he was getting for it, but he just keeps sniping away at the old band, because he's super bitter about not being in Priest anymore, but like...he CHOSE to walk away from the band. He's like a jilted ex whose still bitching about his last relationship despite being the one to end said relationship.
Why? He wasn't in Priest for most of it. Just because Resurrection and War of Words are better than the work they did without him doesn't mean he owed them anything. I have KK's new album on order , and that would be like him holding out until he went back. No sense.
@@azwris to each his own, that's the great thing about music. I like Jugulator, Demolition was okay. I think because I saw Halford on the Resurrection tour, I've always appreciated that record a lot after seeing the songs live.
@@brettsmusicreviews2641 I agree that it is a nice thing to have different opinions and that is the essence of a conversation. Resurrection is an incredible album and probably one of the best metal albums of the '00s. Though I still believe that Priest did very well without Rob too. And I think you'll recognize the absolute capabilities of KK's new band when the record is out. Having said these, Judas Priest should've accepted KK back. What do you think? He deserved to be back in the band. Objectively. Maybe he said a lot of things in the past about Faulkner but again they could've found a solution..
@@azwris Ripper did a commendable job. I thoroughly enjoy 98 Live Meltdown where he tore through the Priest catalog. I have the new KK's Priest pre-oredered and can't wait! The two songs I've heard so far are top-notch. As for being back in the band? I think most of us wish they could have worked something out, especially as Glenn can't tour anymore. Faulkner and Downing would have made a monster team on stage. But we wouldn't have had Firepower, arguably the best Priest album since Painkiller (which is my favorite Priest album), nor would we have Sermons of the Sinner coming. At this stage I'm losing hope of a proper Priest reunion and contenting myself to still have quality music from both camps.
@@azwris Demolition had some great songs but jugulator sounded more like Ripper trying too hard to emulate Rob. That being said Bullet Train is the best song on that album and that album had one of the best covers of any of their albums. Demolition had more songs I like but they’re far from what Rob did solo. Judas Priest without Rob kind of proved the fans didn’t really love it
“As you get older you take stock in reality” 😅 THEY ALL do solo stuff. Mick.. Roger.. Maynard.. Ozzy.. That’s the reality. If licks, solos and instrumentals were strong enough in the metal genre to record off of, you’d have exacted your revenge with an album. Instead you quit the band? That only hurts the fans.
Why should Rob have turned over songs to JP that were written by him and co-written by Roy Z? I really love KK but his statement sounds a bit off to me.
@A Antonson Of course that's another thing. I agree with you that Rob never should've abandon the band. But on the other hand it felt right for him to do so, like you said ;) Bruce Dickinson did the same. And both of them have put out some amazing solo albums that musically didn't fit into their original bands.
And to add this: I really love both Rob and KK. I would love to see them get over their dispute and get together again. Especially now that Glenn isn't playing anymore it would be important to still have KK in the band.
Because KK cant write anymore. You don't hear Glenn bitching and his career was stolen from him due to health. If anyone should be bitter, it's Glenn. Helluva nice guy too. I bought him a beer in Manchester, England as he walked past us outside a pub behind the Apollo Theater. They were playing that night on the Demolition tour. He parked his Land Rover in the parking lot across from us, got out with his guitar heading to sound check. Who wouldn't buy him a beer with him 20 feet in front of you? The only member of Priest I haven't had a beer with, was any of the drummers. Rob and KK in the same booth with me at a bar in Phoenix, 1986, and Ian was the Uncle of a barmaid I knew. Sat with him for an hour chatting in 2004. Very low key guy. They are my favorite band for 40+ years and the only one tarnishing the band is KK. Sad, but reality.
@@FranchiseSIX5 You dont think releasing a press statement KK retired (while he did not), being silent to the press or lying about whyKK cant return, deciding as a band to retire a 40 year..your bandmember breaksdown but reconsiders joining the last tour only to be shut out, threatening KK with legal action, etc is not tarnishing the band? And what about the live performance now with Sneap? JP is all about the money now..its purely bussines. Reading KK's book you get the sense that he is the one guy that just wanted to play in a band a have fun and dreaded how JP turned more and more in a bussiness, with lawyers and an manegement that is mostly loyal to one bandmember Glen. I think its to easy to criticise the one who speaks up.
Judas Priest is my favorite band and yet I feel that K.K.D. just complained and felt sorry for himself his entire book. If Rob wanted to have a solo career (like a lot of other lead singers) he had the right do so. K. K.’s great and it’s (almost) always better with the original lineup but this happens all the time and he still got to be a great guitarist in an amazing band, meet and have good friendships with other great musicians, travel the world, be extremely wealthy and well known etc.etc. He should just be happy NOW. Life is too short. If you read his book, read Rob’s book too and then you’ll have a better look at this. Rob is a class act when he talks about K.K. and sadly they’ll never be another J.P., but at least we have all the music and videos to enjoy and they were our band growing up and have new fans all the time which is great. I am just going to enjoy the music and leave all the other stuff out,
Well said. I haven’t read the books but I agree with you. Also the later albums didn’t include kk at all and they are amazing Ritchie Faulkner is spectacular and Scott Travis has been on drums longer than Dave Holland and I didn’t hear any complaints about that change. KK was great no doubt but things happen and I am still enjoying the Judas Priest music!!
@@doug1929 Absolutely. I mean, I even dug the first of the two Ripper records. I don't like Demolition at all, but I thought Jugulator was a solid record. It's not Halford level Priest but I think it holds itself up. So if they can make a Judas Priest record without Rob Fucking Halford and I can enjoy it, then clearly the band is not dependent on any one member to be great. So I'll just keep listening and enjoying. I'm certainly not going to complain about member changes or what lineup is best when they're still producing great albums. I just wish K.K. would stop taking shots at Rob and making himself look petty. I mean fuck, I'm not even 30 and I'm already way too old for that shit.
KK is and will always be one half of the greatest metal guitar duo ever, but here (but not just here to be sure) he's totally coming off as Roger Waters, Dennis DeYoung, Geoff Tate (and the ultimate insult, Paul Di'anno). KKP could totally stand up to JP, but this is not the way to promote it
Leaving Judas Priest and sinking his savings into that failed golf course / hotel project in Shropshire were the 2 biggest mistakes K.K. ever made. He had to sell his guitars and rights to the JP catalog to rebound from that failed investment, and even so, I'm willing to bet financial security is a big issue for him right now. Nobody put a gun to his head and told him to get out of Judas Priest or else. He took a risk, it blew up in his face, and now has nobody to blame but himself. I hope he does somehow get back on his feet, but at the same time, he has no right to feel animosity towards Rob Halford or Judas Priest when he left the band solely of his own accord and made a shitty investment with his money.
JP was going to retire officialy. KK quit to not do the last tour. But he reconsidered the next month. But Priest let the world know that KK retired anyways. KK set the record strait he didnt retire..but people kept saying he did. More than 5 years he whished the band well...but also expected to return when the time was ready. Clearly he had reasons to believe this as he was still part op the JP company as well. Anywyas things art that black and white regarding him leaving JP. A lot of stuf nobody knows.
He's the only band member to get mad about another member's success. Most bands reject weird ideas like Ritchie Blackmore with Deep Purple and Dio. They use those ideas in a different band because its fits.
@@billwren5033 bullshit. The rest of the band had already agreed back in 2003 to allow Rob to pursue his solo stuff alongside Priest. Also, do you see members of Iron Maiden pissing and moaning about Bruce doing solo work? This is a KK Downing problem. End of story.
just listened their debut and holyshit what an absolute gem. Im so happy Ripper is part of it as well. I think Rob is Priest but some fans were bit shit towards him. I still think if anyone could or should replace Rob someday its Ripper. I doubt Ripper wanna do it anymore though. I hope this project goes far!
I think the title is misleading. Imo he's not saying that Rob should have given his solo songs to Priest (after having recorded them). KK is basically saying that through the years, he saved all of his "good" ideas for the betterment of Judas Priest and that Rob should have done the same; instead of using them on multiple solo albums etc.
I have always appreciated KK's talent, but every time he opens his mouth these days, he seems to cry and diss his former band mates. Just like one of Priest's best songs, he's a victim of changes. As such, my respect for him wanes with each passing year.
KK recieved millions in royalty rights from Priest from his lawsuit. KK invested his money into a failed golf course venture. Seems that KK got exactly what he asked for.
Halford and Co. should've buried the hatchet, Downing takes his rightful place with Faulkner on his left. I would've been an incredible duo. Get Glenn out for the last two on the encore? PLATINUM! Sadly, selfishness will never let us see this and if Priest TRULY cared about the fans, they'd give us what we want. Alas.
Maybe kk being a cry baby and quitting the band over stupid shit is enough reason to not want him back.. Then getting old band members to form your own band and naming yourself essentially the same name out of spite because he feels he's owed anything for leaving on his own probably put the nails in the coffin.. I seriously wish he'd just get over it and move on with his life and rename the band to something bad ass and I'd be a fan..the way he went about this whole thing is childish and hard for me to get behind.
They didn't kick KK out of the band. KK quit on his own. He made his own decision, and then he doubled down on that decision by talking shit about the band and Faulkner at every opportunity he could in order to shill his book, even discussing private shit like what Faulkner was, allegedly, being paid. Then he has the audacity to act surprised when the band doesn't want him back. The dude needs to get over himself.
KK is 100% right. Going back listening to Ressurection by Rob and Baptism of Fire by Glen both albums have songs and bits on it that could have propelled the next albums of JP to bigger greatness..really building of the succes of Painkiller. How frustating it must be sitting at home for years while your band mates put their best stuff on their own solo albums while you being loyal to Priest waiting for their return. Btw those mentioned albums and now KK's own stuff sound excellent and really show that if they work together JP would be unbeatable. Shame the route JP has chosen now.
Not sure why KK is focussing on the past so much, he's coming across as bitter and petty. KK's Priest will be great, I saw the one off gig he did at his club and him and Ripper together were epic.
@A Antonson because he's been whining about the past incessantly for years now like they owe him something. He quit of his own volition. And as for Rob's solo stuff.... Halford left Priest in '92 and released albums with Fight, Two and Halford over a period of 9 years before rejoining JP after 11 absent; pretty stupid to think he would hold any stuff back when he's not even in the band. KK has a new project, rather than dragging up his Diamonds and Rust he should be focussed on the future.
@A Antonson have a look through most of his press for the last x number of years, he's whining. Big fan of KK, saw them on loads of your since the first time in 78 He needs to let go, it's unhealthy
@A Antonson ok so all the factual evidence of interviews and you want to blindly ignore it. Not quite sure how the world geys by on uneducated opinion but that seems to be the norm.
Same situation happened to Foreigner. Lou Gramm put out a solo album, Mick Jones took it personal and was like "Lou, that could have been a Foreigner album😭" But Mick Jones is a jerk, he takes more royalties than his bandmates. K.K saying that is interesting, does that mean he thinks Rob's solo albums are better that Priest's Angel of Retribution & Nostrodomus? Cause I do!
I can see this comment getting taken out of context by so many people. What he's saying, in case there is an misunderstanding, is that Halford should never have left JP in the first place and should have written and recorded those songs WITH the rest of the band. He's NOT saying, or so I think, that the guy should have given them over for Ripper Owens to sing. Whilst this seems obvious, just a brief look in the comments shows some have gotten the wrong end of the stick. I haven't read Downing's book, but I have finished Rob's biography, and ultimately there was a lot of miscommunication going on between members, and people not putting their cards on the table. Rob apparently never wanted to leave Priest in the first place, but none of the parties chose to contact the other to sort things out. Then K.K. apparently leaves after having bottled up frustrations for years. Other members have previously left due to money issues i.e. at least two drummers. Furthermore, I'm of the opinion that Tipton was the silent dictator of the band and forced a lot of annoyances upon other members. He's a phenomanal guitarist, and it's clear a huge amount of the melodies came from Tipton, but it's also clear that he forced the songs to dumb down their lyrics in order to go more mainstream (though I'm sure other members probably also went by their own volition after the money started rolling in). Read the lyrics of everything up until Stained Class and it's pure poetry. After that, however, the songs go more pop orientated. As an original member (unlike Halford and K.K.), all directions are pointing to Tipton being quite unfair and untowards to other members at times. Sad indeed. Anyway, would be happy to hear what others have to say about my comments above.
Time to bury the hatchet, do a great show at the RRHOF induction, and THEN do what thou wilt. The fans could've easily gone elsewhere. It took 40 years of work to make a double LP of songs I put on & still wanna hear. I love Priest. But not like my wife, children or my own band & songs. So put it to rest for the fans & give it up one more time.
Rob Halford's solo work is written by Rob Halford so the loyalties belong to him. Just admit you have made a serious mistake when you decided to let the band down and walk away when they needed you most. You were surprised that they did not beg you to return but luckily they found fresh blood. Not a biography could be too thick though as long as it remains candid.
Because his whole life he has been Priest and loyal to it even when the band spread untruths about his retirement..but still he hoped to return when the time was right. As this seems not the case to be..he now is doing his own thing. He could have lived of just old priest songs but decided a new band should have a record with new stuff.
I can’t have any doubt that ken is going to play with JUDAS PRIEST when they are finally inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame and hopefully play a stomach curdling rendition of VICTOM OF CHANGES !!!!!
I don’t care whether that joke of an institution that goes by the name RNR HOF continues to snub bands like Priest. Priest are too good for them and will always be icons of heavy metal. Priest never needed anyone’s approval to do their thing of delivering the finest metal we have ever known.
So, if and I say IF KK returns to JP ever, will he bring his solo songs to JP? He would say yes now as he is getting it off the ground and would love an opportunity to show case them on a bigger platform, but my true answer is no. He will keep all that in his pocket. Sorry mate, love ya, but I think this tit for tat is petty.
I don’t care what Rob and his Junior Pupils /JP/do nowadays. KK&Glen, the primordial crunching rifferama, was/is Judas Priest, plus their frontmen Al Atkins and Rob Halford. I don’t care what they did when Ripper fronted the band, that wasn’t Priest either. It doesn’t matter how smooth they are, how good they are, it’s irrelevant. Judas Priest is history. Rob, pick a band name and carry on with your own project as long as you want. Priest is over!
I hate seeing bands without the original line-up(minus a death or illness etc.) in great bands. I work, so I know its amazingly hard to deal with the same people for years(decades). A band as big as Priest needs to always put the music first, its literally bigger than any individual member ever at this point. However, I think Fight was just good for Judas Priest overall! Fight grabbed the new kids, said, “Hey this Halford go see his actual band.” I never thought for a minute Fight wasn’t limited edition basically.
Judas Priest isn't Priest without the K.K. Downing/Glenn Tipton guitar tandem trading solos back and forth, just like Metallica isn't real Metallica without Cliff Burton's unique bass playing, just my opinion.
Sour grapes he left and he thought the band was done without him but they went on without him and have continued on. Oh and let's badmouth Glen when he's struggling with his illness I'm sorry but he's making excuses for his bad decision
Looking forward to KK's Priest. He is a LEGEND and should be treated as one.

K.K.’s Priest sounds incredible. Looking forward to the whole record. Owens is delivering the performance of his lifetime.

They sound pretty good but the lyrics are painfully cheesy. I don't care how many notes a minute you can play or how high you can sing, if the words aren't there...neither am I.
Kk is the Priest...!!!
KK....I love you man. You're my favourite member of JP and always have been.
But let it go, bro, and stop airing so much dirty laundry.
You got a really good thing now with your new band. Run with that and forget the past. It's JP's loss for not letting you back in. Forget them.
I get Megadeth-vibes all over again.
I'm really looking forward to getting this new album. With K.K. and Ripper in the same band, it will be awesome!
___________
There will be 4 people in his audiences

K K Downing LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IMO the best two guitar players that feed off each other.
KK hinted Rob wrote his share of letters as well. Do agree its all about the $$ and a lot of other stuff is smoke and mirrors.
KK won’t make money with this solo effort. I love the guy, but to be perfectly honest, the album is a turd
Priest has made a historic mistake by not letting KK return to the band. It would have been such a strong line up, with Faulkner playing the Tipton parts and Downing playing his own. Now they have become a very good Priest tribute band.
Sneap plays Glenn's parts fine, and Faulkner is writing material for Priest.

KK and Glenn were an incredible guitar duo.
The majority of songs they wrote - and recorded - MINT.

I see his point but I really love Halford's solo stuff.
It was cool to see him perform with Babymetal.

Pure legend....gosh LEGEND 😎👌
I bet the bank that no new artist in this last decade will be as relevant as Kk is now when they reach his age.
Great post. Totally agree with your view on the Halford albums.

Totally agree. Both Resurrection and Crucible are better than anything Priest have released since Halford returned to the band in 2003.
Always getting better as the former works became more classic 👍
Here KK preaches the hardline...You bring your best strengths towards the band.
Right, and of three solo albums Halford has done while WITH Priest, (the stuff he did when NOT in priest KK has zero claim over) was nowhere near his or Priest's best strengths.
Why JP didn't contact KK when they did the latest 350 bounds cd++box. He is a founding member anyway!!
They’re not obligated to as he no longer has business rights to the Judas Priest brand……he sold off his royalty rights a couple years ago

Halford did a fantastic album with Resurrection and was literally screaming to be allowed to return to Priest... and he reached what he was dreaming of so he did everything right.

Absolutely. Long time fan of Priest and KK, but the album's songwriting is very, very poor.
@@Bwarock is it just me, or could he have gone somewhere else with the band name too, something else a little more imaginative than including 'Priest'...??

And I think you'll recognize the absolute capabilities of KK's new band when the record is out. Having said these, Judas Priest should've accepted KK back. What do you think? @A Antonson Of course that's another thing. I agree with you that Rob never should've abandon the band. But on the other hand it felt right for him to do so, like you said ;) Bruce Dickinson did the same. And Glenn did that with Baptizm of Fire. Phenomenal guitar work.

Alas.
They don't care about the fans come on
Maybe kk being a cry baby and quitting the band over stupid shit is enough reason to not want him back..
Looks like KK was plucked out of medieval Europe for this video.
Maybe because the interviewers are asking him questions about Judas Priest
@A Antonson have a look through most of his press for the last x number of years, he's whining. Big fan of KK, saw them on loads of your since the first time in 78 He needs to let go, it's unhealthy
@A Antonson ok so all the factual evidence of interviews and you want to blindly ignore it. Not quite sure how the world geys by on uneducated opinion but that seems to be the norm.

@@notion14 I mean. Come on. Judas Priest and Halford are still kicking ass. This is a mess. 😂
Priest was a great band. was.

Precisely..
He has been out of Judas Priest for 10 years, and now he puts out something. Why not sooner.
Because his whole life he has been Priest and loyal to it even when the band spread untruths about his retirement..but still he hoped to return when the time was right. As this seems not the case to be..he now is doing his own thing. He could have lived of just old priest songs but decided a new band should have a record with new stuff.
KK got dingbatty as he got old.Leaving a bit too soon was a good move. Now he's screwing it up trying to hang on too long.
Even though kk is old he needs to grow the f up.
I can’t have any doubt that ken is going to play with JUDAS PRIEST when they are finally inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame and hopefully play a stomach curdling rendition of VICTOM OF CHANGES !!!!!
They'll probably never be inducted. That HOF is a joke. Half the crap they induct aren't even rock acts.
Yes we know.
You know..
He’s right
I don’t care what Rob and his Junior Pupils /JP/do nowadays.
You quit the band KK.
His solo songs do not sit well with Judas Priest fans, I at least think so.
His only solo that was anything of merit was the first "Fight" album. Imo.
Cool Guy and both him and Glen are Awesome guitarist! To bad at this stage they become you know.......
HALFORD , KK DOWNING , GLENN TIPTON , IAN HILL AND LES BINKS THAT'S ( MY PRIEST.) GET EM ALL BACK TOGETHER WHILE THEY ARE STILL ALIVE.
Judas Priest isn't Priest without the K.K. Downing/Glenn Tipton guitar tandem trading solos back and forth, just like Metallica isn't real Metallica without Cliff Burton's unique bass playing, just my opinion.
They sound just fine with Richie...and Glenn's condition will not allow him to play anymore...I say rock on with those who can JAM PRIEST
@@kellyballaro7846 no they don't,their leads song weak now
Sour grapes he left and he thought the band was done without him but they went on without him and have continued on. Oh and let's badmouth Glen when he's struggling with his illness I'm sorry but he's making excuses for his bad decision
Hooooomoooooo
i thought KK left the band to run a golf resort but when that went belly up he wanted back in?
I am looking forward for the greatest Tim Ripper Owens and KK in the new way better than JP - KK's Priest album!
In my opinion Halford's solo albums: Resurrection and Crucible are better than anything Priest have released since he returned to the band in 2003.
