For your carport, I'm not sure what is available in the PI but a traffic topping used in parking garages should be used. Something from BASF, Sika or Vulkem-Tremco used here in the US. Or an epoxy type coating. Or another layer of concrete topping slab with a. brush finish, that way you won't have to worry about scratches.
Garage flooring - depending on local knowledge of course, but epoxy is often used on such spaces, on top of concrete. There are a whole range of colours available, but dark rather than light will help hide any markings, even though epoxy resin is very tough. The challenge sometimes is to make sure that the space is clean before and during the pour and drying stage. The other consideration would be texture if you think it is going to get wet, and whether slipping is going to be an issue, but I'm sure you can work that out. Great progress being made Finn. Looking forward to seeing it completed as I am sure you are too.
Finn I suggest for a downligth ligtiing fixtures get aa 3000k color temp for your bedroom its a warm white. . for living room kitchen and pantry use 4000k its a natural white. . for your covelight use 3000k dimmable.. thats the best i can recomment. Im happy that your living in your dream house.. ❤❤
For the garage, use hard cement. If you ever look at the floors in warehouses, they are usually hard cement, because they take a lot of punishment, but are easy to clean and maintain. You are worried about scratches, but what if one of your vehicles starts leaking oil? It's much easier to clean on hard, smooth cement, then just something cheap that might crack or break over time.

You may want to consider polished concrete (cheapest), or 1/4 pebble washout(recommended), or finally resin epoxy (most expensive) for the garage area.
Harvesting rain water is a great idea just be sure to watch videos about it so you avoid fouling the water. You are both so kind rescuing the kittens. God bless you both.

I would speckle paint garage and then epoxy it...done Wow planting a Kamagong tree is the best. Through the DENR i purchased about 50k board feet of tree. There was a large sub division being built in Cebu and i bought them. Makes a great floor.

The house looks fantastic and looking firward to see the pool get built. Where I live most people put down a clear liquid waterproof on the garage floor. Some use a concrete paint and some use an epoxy coating with color or a pattern. It all depends on how much money you want to put under the truck! You have to be HAPPY when you see a Rainbow, a lot of people doesn’t know how to appreciate the beautiful Natural Nature they don’t take advantage of appreciating what it means, they just shrugged their shoulder because these people don’t appreciate what nature means when there is a rainbow, a bright star, a blue Moon, etc. So if people are Happy because Finn and Sherlyn are so appreciative of what Nature brings that makes them happy.
Finn in your bathroom make sure that your tile guys make a couple shelves for you out of the tile because you won’t be able to put your shampoo bottles just soap or anything else that you need to put inside your shower instead of putting stuff on the floor or on the sink, so have your tile guys make you some nice tile shelves in the shower

We have a 150m2 flat roof house here in Masbate and the cement/ concrete shrinks when it's getting hot and water always finds a way through. Coating helps but the only thing that helps is time....😊
Finn if you thinking long term. Consider buying extra tiles. Just in case in a couple of decades you break a tile and can’t get replacements. Happened to me after 34 years. Fortunately I had spare tiles now you can’t even see which tiles were replaced.
Some concrete slab or brick type on garage floor, you could also use natural stone or limestone that will looks more natural but had to thick and flat with hardened soil underneath. Don't forget slightly elevated angle just in case your car is wet or while washing. Great looking hilltop house Finn.

hi fn! for your carport flooring i suggest you can use a scratch resistant tiles and mostly they are italian or spanish made which is available in cebu incase you don't have it in dumaguete. expect the price is higher because of the quality but anyway it will cover a smaller area. second option is, you can use a concrete pavers and theres a lot of designs you can choose from.
@15:48 Kamagong is the name of the tree and Mabolo is the name of its fruit a.k.a Velvet Apple related to persimmons. It is a dioecious tree (needs a male and female tree together to produce a seeded fruit) and will produce a seedless fruit if a male tree is nowhere near it. Bears fruit in 3-5 years and will live up to a hundred years.

For the car port just a concrete finish and coat in Non-Slip paint. Durable, easily repaired, non-slip and easy to clean. Dust won't stick to it. Good to have cats as well, not only great pets but will scare off the vermin and snakes. Be prepared for a few presents now and again.
Hi Finn The top tile deck as you say expansion is a problem. I would build in expansion joints probably divide in to four squares then use silicone instead of grouting plus the outside use silicone for expansion as well. In New Zealand I use a brush on rubber type water proofing and it looks that your contractor is doing that. Have considered garage grinding the concrete polish. But concrete looks better with black oxide in mix .
Really love you guys heaps , truly mean that , who buys 2000 litre tanks these days ? At least 10 thousand would be better in the long run , you've got plenty of room , still too many workers around that you don't need .

for the garage, you should be able to buy a rubber compound that you can paint on the floor. it provideds a rubber sealant and cover that goes over the cement. it keeps things waterproof and would prevent scratching the cement.
Moving along good. You know, I was watching and saw that you were going to use horizontal wire for balcony rails. If you plan on having kids, you might want to reconsider. Kids can slip through horizontal wiring. You might want to consider vertical slates that you can use in the future to replace wire. Maybe construct rails so you can replace wire with slates down the road without having to rebuild the rails.
Glad to see you took my suggestion on railings. When they poured tge cement for the flat deck the could have added Sadara which is a dry water proofing powder that is mixed in the cement and its very cheap and last. Maybe next time. Maybe in your pool?
I work for a waterproofing company. They use a epoxy cement to waterproof area. For your carport /garage epoxy which a 3 stage product a white base to seals the base. Next a clear epoxy sealer down with a plastic flakes in the color you want. Then put finish coat that is a clear epoxy down. That should last a long time. They put in garage in the U.S.

The garage parking spot .... look into just making it an epoxy floor garage ) they also have like a hard rubber floor tile that's popular ! i have in my garage ... so working with cars or anything and if i get oil spill etc its easy clean up

Look at Polyaspartic floor material for garage floor. It's stronger then a epoxy finished floor. Also Rhino Linings garage floor coating kit.

Polished concrete is probably the best for the garage. Cheap, easy to clean, doesn't require maintenance.

Moving along good. You know, I was watching and saw that you were going to use horizontal wire for balcony rails. If you plan on having kids, you might want to reconsider. Kids can slip through horizontal wiring. You might want to consider vertical slates that you can use in the future to replace wire. Maybe construct rails so you can replace wire with slates down the road without having to rebuild the rails.

Glad to see you took my suggestion on railings. When they poured tge cement for the flat deck the could have added Sadara which is a dry water proofing powder that is mixed in the cement and its very cheap and last. Maybe next time. Maybe in your pool?

I work for a waterproofing company. They use a epoxy cement to waterproof area. For your carport /garage epoxy which a 3 stage product a white base to seals the base. Next a clear epoxy sealer down with a plastic flakes in the color you want. Then put finish coat that is a clear epoxy down. That should last a long time. They put in garage in the U.S.
