I view it as evolution as well as a business choice to get it right. The name has cache so from a business perspective it just makes sense. It has to be less of an emotional decision. It's about survival.
There's no way a 4 door Mustang could lose. You can get people with 2 kids to get a car with character and history. I'd buy nothing other than 1 Mustang after another if it had a back seat and a trunk. This type of attraction is what Ford wanted with the Mach E. A 4 door Mustang with an electric motor would also be a car I'd buy or one I could see turning heads everywhere.
Exactly I know most people would get that as long as it’s good looking and maybe even keeping a V8. It would also have awd which opens up the market for buyers who have avoided Mustang due to snow
It be great they just bring back the Lincoln continental and whack coyote 5.0 in it and keep the Mustang as a coupe. Be a good competitor for Audi and Mercedes rivals
I would if it looks good because my Sti is 4 door and much easier to get in and out of than the s650 not to mention a lot of v8 luxury cars use 4 doors anyway but a lot of people will need it to grow on them though because it’s going to be ugly or weird at first. I used to think the s650 rear tail lights were ugly but now I like them.
Let’s just hope it’ll be full-size to fill the American full-size sedan’s void as the Cadillac CT5 is already mid-size. I was so excited when I heard the announcement and got very frustrated when I heard no cameras were allowed there. Just like how Camaro and Challenger fans are moving onto the Mustang, Charger fans will soon have something ideal to move onto as well.
Yeah most likely it won’t be a full size as I’m not sure if mustang platform can be stretched that much but it would be nice to have a full size. Ford can get a lot of charger sales as people upgrade it and don’t want to go for EV charger
I would not buy a sedan mustang, unless it’s all wheel drive. Imagine an all wheel drive sedan with a whipple…that would be awesome. How about a Shelby Cobra, all wheel drive, supercharged sedan. I’m fine with it being in the lineup, but I’m not really interested. I would buy the off road mustang, which sounds pretty awesome and I love the raptor style renderings.
Yeah the sedan has the market to capture with charger no longer being there. Ford can keep a V8 and supercharged V8 like the charger line up and I’m sure it will sell. Off road Mustang would also be nice but I feel like that won’t move past the concept stage
It's not only for the public my friend is going to be for police shoes there's no Dodge charger so the only thing you got is SUVs which most of the handle like crap you want something that handles like a sedan
I'm guessing it won't be called Mustang but it probably is using the S650 platform hence the rumor "4 door Mustang". It'll probably be a Falcon, Torino, Crown Vic, or Thunderbird. My money is on them reviving the Thunderbird.
Thunderbird would be cool! As long as it has V8 and great styling it can sell well. Mustang name would probably sell better but let's see what they come up with
@@Red5oh I've been wanting them to bring back the thunderbird. If they do it right, it would be their coolest car since they brought the GT back in 2017.
Ford needs to target us s550 owners because in business, you want repeating customers and to get us s550 guys to sell what we have now, Ford needs to entice us. We have the s650 but the pricing is turning us off that we would rather keep our 550. Now with a 4 doors sedan, perhaps it will get us to trade in our 550 for the latest design of this sedan. Once again, only if the pricing deserves the value of it. I'm thinking this Stang sedan will compete with the Acura Integra which also has 4 doors and high horse power, a little higher than the egoboost at 310 HP. Regardless, the Stang sedan will then compete with other sedans like the Camry and accord but knowing that the Honda n Toyota sedans are not cheap, so will be this sedan stand. I'm saying $38k for Stang sedan as it is a tad higher pricing than the Accord or the Camry base but not higher than the s650 stang. No way this sedan Stang is going to cost the same or higher than the s650 egoboost unless it's a V8 then it'll be pricing in between the s650 egoboost and the GT. I think adding an extra door to the mustang line will make the sedan to look funky like them lucid air. I mean the charger 4 doors are funky looking as is.
Yeah agreed that is S550 owners just aren’t tempted with S650. Also doesn’t help with price increase. I think if ford can offer 5.0 with attractive design and usable back seats, I can see it taking sales away from other sport sedan. Most people looking at sports sedan won’t consider accord or Camry so pricing it around it won’t make much sense
They could easily call it Falcon or Torino, just as 2 examples. Ford has 120 years plus of history behind it. There is no reason why they have to slap the Mustang name on everything, when they have so many names sitting in the shelf.
They could definitely do that but Mustang just has a strong brand recognition that others don’t. Imagine Escape EV instead of Mach E. It wouldn’t sell as much as it would be Tesla vs ford instead of Tesla vs Mustang
@@Red5ohyeah but it made its name, created a whole segment and inspired others as a 2 door that straddled the line between a sports coupe and a GT. Anything else isn’t a Mustang honestly. The 4 door cruiser v8 identity was where the Falcon found its niche in Australia. They should bring that back
@@Red5oh are people who are buying the Mach E really buying it bc it has “Mustang” in its name? If anything the fact that a 4 door EV shares the name with one of the most iconic vehicles in the past 60 years is only irritating the loyalists like myself who feel that the name is being diluted. There is no reason they couldn’t just call the Mach E and left it at that. They are trying to do the same thing with this new sedan that’s coming out
needs a wide body option. no dealer mark ups . this is exciting stuff!
Yup I’m actually excited to see what the 2026 mustang will bring with the sedan version! Awd 5.0 with attractive design will sell good
Yes . Family guys need a 4 door sports sedan. I’m a Singer GT2 owner. Got kids.
Yeah there’s a market for sport sedan where you can still have fun and haul kids when needed
I am a 2013 SHO owner and I would definitely get one.
Yup that would be a good upgrade!
4dr + 5.0 + 6spd = sign me up!
Yup that would be a great combo! Even with a 10 speed
As long as we still have the coupe and convertible then yes. Bring on the sedan.
The more the merrier! It would help keep the cost low and hopefully have more sales
I just don’t get why they’re calling it a Mustang. Call it what it is, the true successor to the Crown Victoria.
I view it as evolution as well as a business choice to get it right. The name has cache so from a business perspective it just makes sense. It has to be less of an emotional decision. It's about survival.
If it’s a coyote and AWD it’s a no brainer
Yeah I’d be all over that combination!

If it comes with a 5.0 and stick shift, yes.
Even without stick shift having a 5.0 in sedan would be nuts
Scale of Economy, i like that! Volume seller to preserve the V8.
Yes we all the V8 so whatever Ford has to do keep it alive. Although 5.0 awd in sedan form would actually be sick!
would buy it in a heartbeat. my wife and daughter complain each and evveryyyy time they get in my mustang now. please ford. throw a dog a bone
Yeah the market is definitely there for 5.0 Mustang sedan! I feel like I’d get one as a daily too as long as prices are reasonable
i love the idea 4 door mustang
I’d be all for it!
Honestly It's clean !
Yeah I’d buy it with the right spec
I feel police departments will start picking up considering stelantis fumbled that with killing off the charger
Yeah that's a good point which would mean even more sales for Ford to justify the sedan with 5.0
They definitely won't crash as much!
Lol awd and more balanced weight will definitely help!
It be great they just bring back the Lincoln continental and whack coyote 5.0 in it and keep the Mustang as a coupe. Be a good competitor for Audi and Mercedes rivals
If they do h the Mustang sedan they might even just rebadge it as continental for Lincoln which would be good
I think Mustang should be 4wd so we can have the best of both worlds 2wd and 4wd
Yeah exactly we can offer awd and rwd so if purists want they can just go for rwd
It’s going to be called the thunderbird.
Have the confirmed it? Either way coyote sedan would be good
If it looks good, I may be willing to trade my S650 in towards it. All just depends on the execution!
Yeah let’s hope it looks close to these renderings! Also hope ford doesn’t increase the price even more
So long as it have the 5.0 I'm game. I LOVE sedans with high performance engines.
Yup! Keep the coyote and give it a nice design and we are good!

Yeah if it looks like these concepts it would actually sell if Ford made the price to be somewhat comparable to fastback
Mos def would buy

If no 4dr charger police dept.'s can use them!. Might be ok!!?? Will see.
Yeah that would help sell to more people and offset the cost!
Will it fit properly in the garage it looks too long. It won’t be affordable
I think it would fit as my guess is that it won’t be longer than a mid size sedan like a Camry or accord and most garages can fit those
I would not buy a sedan mustang, unless it’s all wheel drive. Imagine an all wheel drive sedan with a whipple…that would be awesome. How about a Shelby Cobra, all wheel drive, supercharged sedan. I think the rumor is that it will be AWD.

Yes only with a manual.
I’m sure both would be offered
It’s going be a T-Bird,
Not the Stang.
