in '83- high school - my 69 camaro had a Z-28 emblem but had a 350 4blt. 4spd from a chevy fruit hauling truck 4:11 gears & had 325hp...very fun for a 16yo kid!
My 67 rides amazing after redoing all the factory bushings, shocks, leafs and springs etc. No teeth jarring or harsh ride at all🙌🏾 goes down the freeway like a dream. Been in the family since 75🥰
Nice! Please tell me you greased that clutch pedal before you gave it back, lol. I subbed after seeing that beautiful green Catalina you just recently finished. You guys do fantastic work!
Too bad the current Camaro does not look this good. Look at all that open space and good visibility in all directions. No design has ever been better than the first generation. Add three point belts, a driver & pax airbag & this is the way to fly. In 20 years it can be converted to electric for even more power. That chassis is almost as beautiful as the body. 👍👍
I've been watching and following RS for a couple years now, in the new year i'm hoping a full chassis, irs, ifs for a 69 Mustang with RH drive steering rack can be imported to Australia to get grafted in my car here, certainly get the feeling it's what my 429 BBF and T56 are gonna need.
It would be important to have a Survivor type chassis like those available for Camaro and Pontiac Trans Am so that the chassis can be installed without having to make modifications to the floor and structure of the '68-'73 Nova.
Excellent as always. I'm sure it's a dream to drive. But oof! I just can't handle those high-offset front wheels that end up on all these conversions. Just takes away the vintage vibe. Is that due to upper/lower a-arm length? Could that be shortened an inch or two to allow a bit more "dish" (I guess lower offset) on a front wheel?
As mentioned in the description, squeak was from the original clutch pedal assembly that came with the car. Since we were only doing the chassis swap on this one, we unfortunately didn't catch it until the test drive. It was remedied before it all headed back to the customer.
RS has top quality parts and builds. There is growing demand for electric conversions of our muscle cars. Will RS be the first to offer a skateboard type chassis with batteries built in for electric motors?
As battery options an motor packages become more available, we don't see why not - check out this concpet we did for Ford Performance - roadstershop.com/galleries/1978-f-100-eluminator/
Nice I have a 67,does this really allow for a good ride? My car rattles my teeth after most drives, would love to have a car that can drive like a modern sports car
Anyone know where to get that steering wheel? I have an original 15in thin grip version on my chevelle and want a smaller one with thicker grip. Side not that squeaking is horrid.
For something more autocross specific, we'd probably recommend our FAST TRACK setup - roadstershop.com/chassis-and-suspension/vehicles/1967-69-camaro-chassis/
Are you guys working on AWD chassis? I live in PNW, it’s always rainy and hilly. Would be great to have an AWD. I want a car that I can drive all seasons…. I’m wishing an AWD chassis for mustang Fastback 65
We get asked about AWD setups quite a lot - the short answer is that it's unlikely to be a production setup due to the extensive parts packaging and engineering that would need to go into it for most platforms. The resulting cost would be extremely prohibitive to most buyers.
I have two of them under a pair of '67's, the only way to roll. Even with a Morrison front clip and a Ridetech 4 bar in the rear with welded link bars in my '68 Camaro there's still no structural integrity in the vertical axis. A complete 3D designed top of the line chassis like the Roadster Shop makes all the difference in the world. RUclips.com/user/davidcwhite/videos
SPEC is designed to work with the original rear rails, so a mini-tub kit will usually get you to a 345 wide rear - larger sizes you would want to look at our FAST TRACK setup for 1st gens - see both here - roadstershop.com/chassis-and-suspension/vehicles/1967-69-camaro-chassis/
Not sure where you are hearing that timeline, SPEC Camaro current lead time is 7 months from placing deposit. Give us a call and we can go over details for you.
I don't know. It doesn't look vintage and looks more resto-mod than anything else. This is the kind of car that ends ends up in those consignment dealer showrooms. It's easy to fix though. Pull off those aftermarket wheels and put on period. You can still advertise modern underpinnings.
Dang that clutch peddle 😬

Can't wait to get my chassis in.... any day now! Thank you.... everyone at RS thank you!
How do you like it?
@@INDPNDT_CHRIS IT is AMAZING!
the color combo is so perfect

Wish you offered a spec chassis for the 82-92 Camaro.

🥵 i had thought maybe the paint was not clean but wow to my surprise its perfectly suits the white interior perfectly
Sweet!
Did you sort out that squeak when you shift the transmission :)? Nice build. You guys do a great job.
As mentioned in the description, squeak was from the original clutch pedal assembly that came with the car. Since we were only doing the chassis swap on this one, we unfortunately didn't catch it until the test drive. It was remedied before it all headed back to the customer.
Good deal. I didn't hear that in the video. Guess I missed it. So you are using the original clutch pedal assembly to actuate the Tremec?
Awesome
Holy Moly
great update on the classic mags..... and what steering wheel is that???...perfect quiet serious period class.
Nice!!!
How does it handle pot holes with the lower ride height?

Might want to fix that squeaky clutch pedal.
Great idea Matt. 👍
👍👍👍
Wondering if the 65/66’ Ford Galaxie chassis will ever make it into your offerings?
Nice
I have a 67,does this really allow for a good ride?
My car rattles my teeth after most drives, would love to have a car that can drive like a modern sports car
It will transform your '67. Give us a call and we can go over options
very nice camaro. are those r/s wheels sold to the public
forgeline.com/wheel/rs5
Love the spec chassis. Do you guys make one for the 66-67 Chevy II novas?
Sure do! roadstershop.com/product/1962-67-nova-spec-chassis/
Anyone know where to get that steering wheel? I have an original 15in thin grip version on my chevelle and want a smaller one with thicker grip. Side not that squeaking is horrid.
How much a restoration like this costs?
What does something cost to purchase and have you install? Also, are there more performance options like for autocross? Thanks
For something more autocross specific, we'd probably recommend our FAST TRACK setup - roadstershop.com/chassis-and-suspension/vehicles/1967-69-camaro-chassis/
What is the labor cost for something like that on that Camaro
I love the roadster shop! BUT, don't take a nice clean restored Camaro like this and do all this stuff!
While I agree if the owner isn’t comfortable driving the car stock then it’s the right move. These cars sit in garages far too long, meant to be driven.
Do you do chassis for late model camaro 1990?
Are you guys working on AWD chassis? I live in PNW, it’s always rainy and hilly. Would be great to have an AWD. I want a car that I can drive all seasons….

What's average cost of a rolling frame/chassie? I assume one could be made to accommodate tubs?
SPEC is designed to work with the original rear rails, so a mini-tub kit will usually get you to a 345 wide rear - larger sizes you would want to look at our FAST TRACK setup for 1st gens - see both here - roadstershop.com/chassis-and-suspension/vehicles/1967-69-camaro-chassis/
Do you offer a spec chassis for a 70’ Oldsmobile 442?
Our SPEC Chevelle chassis should be compatible with all GM A-body platforms - check it out here - roadstershop.com/product/1968-72-chevelle-3/
Whats the price point on chassis in video? Trying desperately to get rid of the rear rough ride on my 69.
Check out the links in the description - SPEC 1st gen starts at $11,995
What’s the lead time on these? I keep seeing 1yr + thrown out all over the place.
Not sure where you are hearing that timeline, SPEC Camaro current lead time is 7 months from placing deposit. Give us a call and we can go over details for you.
What was that annoying squeak??
Its' a secret.
(We hid a clue in the vid description. )
What colour blue is it?
LeMans

The only thing it needs is hideaway headlights.
