Regarding computers of the DOD era... I know of someone who didn't use folders. ALL of her programs and data resided in the ROOT folder, in C:/. That folder have a static number of possible entries, something like 256 entries, while folders and sub-folders can expand if needed. Guess who couldn't save that Word file when about 90% of the drive is free ?
I agree. Why is there a PGA and a LPGA? Absolutely no reason for it. Golf is an individual sport that doesn't require physical interaction between the players. Is it because men are afraid of being outclassed by a mere woman?
I had a friend in high school that had to bully them to let her try out for the (American) football team and then they denied her despite her playing VERY well because she was under 5ft tall and they didn't want to risk her getting hurt. She raged about it for weeks because she's the youngest of 4 and had grown up playing very rough football with her brothers. I hope that nearly 30 years later things are better there but i doubt it.
@@Uncle_Jon Not much better than a boomer in the Tech area, so with virtually every story I think 'That could be me' without the part where they act like insane people. Looking forward for some good videos 😀😀
Dont worry, I woke up feeling crummy and had to skip work. Can say Opal my old cat is happy about it, though she did get huffy when I decided to start moving around more to not be stagnant in one spot. She had gotten comfortable laying on my leg and causing a cramp.
"Self-Service" tills... I very much hate how companies push them. Just like self-serve gas, the company wants to eliminate the low-level job and just make the customer to do it. Then they put it on the customer for any issues which happens... when there was no training or compensation for doing the work. If a self serve till knocked off $5-10 off my bill for using it, I would consider it. But it doesn't, the rich company pockets the savings, as they are greedy. In that last story, if I had an option, when they expected me to do the self-serve till instead of being checked out by an employee, I would have walked out. I would take it that they were refusing me service, as they were not allowing me to check out.
It sounds like the Lion Dance did cleanse the space from evil spirits 😁
Story one.... Sifu was a BOSS, and most wise! 😎👍
Re: 1st Sergeant, managers hate when the evidence doesn't support their trumped-up issue.

Linux ext2 had this issue too, IIRC 512 entries. The ext3+ fixed that issue
@@JasonW. Leftover from the floppy only era. Who in their right mind would ever save over 100 files on a single sided, single density 5.25" floppy ?
I've always advocated competence above nepotism. If someone wants to do something: Let them. *Assuming* they can meet the requirements.
Your name is Jon??? John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt??? That's my name too!
🤣👍

Tell the manager to listen to "Honor to Us All" from Mulan, then tell him that's traditional as well.
Somehow you started playing on Spotify, so here i am 😂
Lol... Been on Spotify for a bit now. It's hard to figure out how to get people over there though.

The OP of one story having to explain MS-DOS was the text-based precursor to Windows made me feel old.
Oh, my god. That intro was funny with the Arnold Swarzeneggar "Well, duh!" clip.
