It's not all about doctors, nurses, hospitals, surgery, people dying. but A LOT of people have died on this show. Some characters I'll never forget. Like Cristina! She was my favorite my biggest favorite character on the show I hated when she left the show. it wasn't the same without her.. but it was still a great show! Derek & Meredith were a big part of that. it broke my heart when he died. To see what it did to Meredith and Amelia!!! Those doctors at that awful hospital had no idea what they were fucking doing! They had no right operating on Derek at all!!! Amelia or anyone else should have been called to come help him. Amelia is just as good as Derek after he died she was an amazing doctor and surgeon. Losing Derek broke the both of them but they survived! And that's beautiful. Amelia being a drug addict she could have relasped and started using drugs again but she didn't. And that makes her the strongest person ever!!! She lost her brother her only brother. if that was me and I lost my only sister because she's really All I have left of my family!! I lost my mother my grandmother my dad. (He's not dead. Just a fuckin deadbeat. Chooses not to be in my life even though I've been sober for years. he still chooses to be a piece of shit!) so I don't let him bother me anymore or affect me. there's no relationship with us. I know nothing about him anymore and he knows nothing about me. he doesn't want to know!! And that's his choice. In my opinion it's his loss a big loss! I'm a great person I'm kind I'm loving I'm caring. I'm funny at times and sometimes I'm happy!! But he will never know. And I don't care anymore I don't let anything or anyone affect me or hurt me that badly ever again. Watched the whole thing in one sitting. Took me back to when I was 23 and first saw Meredith and Derek. I’m 42 now and their love story still rings true.
@@mynameis11111 Colin‘s Time from 23 to 42 is even my whole Life, 3 or 4 Years ago at Home I saw a Trailer where Alex layed on a Hospital bed and had to be reanimated by someone, He must‘ve been shot in that Trailer’s Ep. by that 30 to 40 Year old Guy that lost his Wife in Webber’s Hospital and started a Rampage in it, I began to watch GA some Moths or Years after That with my Mom and I loved it very much from then on! But after Derek died it went downhill, i don‘t know how much it went downhill for me but GA simply wasn’t the same anymore..
A lot of people said they were toxic but I think even over dramatized it's a lot of issues that normal couples deal with just to the nth degree because they're both surgeons. Derek's ego is a bit much but as a surgeon he needs that. As a husband he needs it less
In every series there is that one couple that everyone wants a happy ending for, they break up, reconcile, break up, reconcile over and over until they get married and live happily ever after! Ross and Rachael were the one!
I never was really into the series, but in 2020 I decided to watch the entire series from the very first episode, leaving out only the episode that killed off Derek. It’s a great editing and what I noticed is that letting him die was the only solution to let Patrick Dempsey go, if he had just left Meredith because of a job or another woman, it would have ruined the memory of their love story and nobody would be satisfied…
For years I dreaded watching Derek die. For years I gave up watching the show past the second season because I knew I would be hurt by the end of it all. And tonight, here I am! Bawling my eyes out watching this masterpiece. The show is magical but this edit is nothing less than spectacular. Derek+Meredith forever ❤️
Same, I haven’t mustered the courage to watch past season 8 because I couldn’t fathom the idea of watching Derek die and him not being in the show. This video is very cathartic and a perfect way for me to know how their love story ends.

I've seen sooo many comments on RUclips on how toxic Derek was but seeing this made me realize how toxic Meredith was even to herself....Derek loved even the broken parts of her and yes, Derek was crappy at times but Meredith honestly was broken

Wasn't a fan of the whole ghost thing...That storyline gagged me initially on the first watch but upon every rewatch, I dislike it more and more. The dialogue, comedy and music are ESPECIALLY great in those few seasons. Nothing beats the MAGIC of the first 3 seasons!! 😭😭

@@Nicop2227 Warning ⚠️ : VERY long rant incoming 😅😅 I think Izzie's true love was definitely Denny. Their chemistry and banter was really fun to watch and hard to recreate. I didn't really mind Alex and Izzie because I think Alex's true love had always been Izzie. He was more into her and attached to her (esp later) than she was into him. She was his 'sun'. But when he slept with Olivia, I don't think she ever truly got over that and I don't blame her. Like, how can you fully trust someone the second time around? As much as I appreciate George's character, I could not for the life of me get WHY they put him into a relationship with Izzie?? They never had any sexual chemistry. They acted and felt truly like best friends and the sex scenes between them are always painfully awkward for me to watch. In my ideal world, Izzie and George never happened 😖 I don't particularly like any of George's romantic pairings...I like his character as a whole but his romantic endeavours were really perplexing to me 😕 I don't think he had chemistry with anyone? Maybe Olivia? On Derek: I think my opinion has swayed quite a bit over the years. At first, I worshipped the ground he walked on and swon every time he was on screen. Then, I disliked him quite a bit because I realised he can be quite an egocentric, he really toyed with both Meredith and Addison because he wanted them both in different capacities but like Bailey said, was a coward to commit to a choice. Now, I mellowed out my opinion of him. I really come to appreciate his arc and make no mistake I BAWLED MY EYES OUT FOR DAYS AFTER WATCHING HIS DEATH. Despite everything, he IS McDreamy and I don't think the show would be half as big without MerDer. They are the ultimate OTP and the show runners could never recreate the chemistry Ellen and Patrick had. It was like catching lightning in a bottle. Never before and never since. 💫💜
Watch it. You’ll fall in love with the characters, hate some characters, cry over deaths. It’s incredible. I’m currently rewatching it. All of it. And with the things I know it hurts even more.
idc what anyone says: her heart beats for derek and derek only. he was her whole life. everything went downhill after he died. there will never be anyone better for her. i dont think she needs to date anyone else. their love was true and one of a kind its just not fair.

yeah there were a few things like that, like him saying he wants to die at 110 in her arms or joking she can have a year later bc he doesn't want to be there for zola dating 😭 those hit so hard watching it all and knowing what will happen, and that they don't both get to have the rest of their lives together

I just want to say one thing, The way meredith say DEREK, it’s like she owned him🥺 nobody ever said like the way she did. And look at their eyes, you can properly see not only they were in love with each other but also how they meant for each other as Meredith & Derek❤️ They were legend and their love story was epic, no one can deny this ever.
its crazy because you watch this whole love story play out. its the most beautiful thing to see. it breaks my heart and puts it back together all at once. you see these two and you might think this is the plot that makes greys anatomy, this is what gets the viewers to click. it is that of course, but its everything else as well. its the friendship (mer, christina, alex, and george). its the laughs and cries you let out while watching. all the quotes that have hit me like a truck and will linger in my thoughts forever. its the sense of family you can litterally feel through a screen. its powerful. this show is everything to me.
this is such an amazing compilation.. thank you for this ✨😭 personally, i feel that meredith and derek belonged together. they were soulmates. the way and how much both of them loved each other was so pure, deep and true. both of them weren't perfect humans but their love was extraordinary. their love was always above their egos or disagreements. also, in the alternate universe episode (s8 ep13 - what if) they show derek and meredith ending up at the bar at the end of the episode which tells that even if things had been totally different, the people who are bound to be together, do get together. i think they definitely deserved more time. and the fact that he died when she found out she was pregnant with their third child is just so tragic. zola growing up without her father was so tragic. he also died doing what he loved which was saving people's lives. I knew derek was going to die but could really feel meredith's numbness when he died. the episodes of his death was probably the saddest thing i've watched on television. genuinely, they were meant to be, were soulmates and deserved much more. 💜💙
Wish I had that kind of love story....instead, I sit here at 30..single and alone with minimal experience. How lucky are those that find true love in this lifetime and to have a great story behind it...man, that's a fairytale. If I could choose to have anything in this lifetime...it would be true love. Oh how I pray I find something like this in my life.

I absolutely love Derek and Meredith's love story the power couple the beautiful family the man who always said the most beautiful loving caring things no matter what they loved each other so deeply I watch it over and over again and I still cry no Gray's anatomy was not the same I'm sorry after he was gone one of the most beautiful love stories of all time
I cant even express what this show and this love story means to me. I watched it during the pandemic when we were all going through the worst times, and it was really 'a breath of fresh air'. that said, the first 2-3 seasons were the best imo, maybe even up until George's death. But after that, it all just went spiralling downwards.
Absolutely 100% loved this. 2.5 hours of my life I wont get back but probably will lose again to rewatch. They are what my mom talks about when she mentiones my dad. He died and will always be her one true love that never again will be. Im feeling ALL the feels ❤. Great job!

Just took a great walk down memory lane and I'm crying at the end of it 😭 They are truly the best love story on TV, because we got to see them from the very beginning of their love, their pursuit of a relationship together, their ups and downs - and it all feels very realistic too! Nobody could replace Derek in Meredith's heart, just as Meredith stays within Derek's 'til his last breath (and seemingly beyond). I wish Shonda Rhimes and team could've come up with a great way to write their story further without tearing them apart - either through death or otherwise - because I would have loved to see them grow old together. But, alas.

I was young and stupid when I first watched this show, my life wasn’t great and I wasn’t very mature yet. I thought it was a masterpiece cause it was pretty much one of the only things I’d ever watched. I outgrew my Grey’s phase a while ago, I kept watching til now anyways cause I still liked it, but never as much as I did back then. I don’t know why, but the last few episodes (season 19) kinda lit the spark again for me, and I found myself here on RUclips looking at Grey’s content after years and years, and this video really brings back so many memories from those times; good memories and bad memories. This video is great and it deserves a lot of recognition, seeing the show splayed out like this feels like a rewind of my last 10 years and it’s given me a lot to think about and reflect on. I had forgotten how much I cared about these characters when I was younger, and so it’s really comforting to go through it again like this. Thank you for making this ❤.

I remain so sad and angry that Derek died. So angry that a world class Doctor who cared so much for his patients would do anything to keep them alive and administer the best treatment - would fall victim to a lesser Doctor that didn't have the skill and acumen to keep him alive. It's just so senseless to me. It's real life of course, but makes me so sad and angry.

This was SO BEAUTIFUL ...but you missed one off the greatest scenes where Meredith is on pain meds, being wheeled thru the hospital and says to McSteamy about being the dirty mistress. That was hilarious & epic considering Meredith's reaction to going back to his wife & sleeping with the other guys to try to lessen the pain in her heart. .
I’ve cried the whole time. I remember it when they first met each other and how they went through difficulties in each stage of their life. It’s been a while since I last watched ss14 as Netflix stopped airing the ss after that. To me MerDer is the soul of this entire series regardless of how wonderful other scenes are, I admit. @@Nicop2227 No worries. Here's my lil rant: I loved Denny's character! Wish he stayed alive for longer, JDM is such a dreamboat! Wasn't a fan of the whole ghost thing...That storyline gagged me initially on the first watch but upon every rewatch, I dislike it more and more. The dialogue, comedy and music are ESPECIALLY great in those few seasons. Nothing beats the MAGIC of the first 3 seasons!! 😭😭

I think Izzie's true love was definitely Denny. Their chemistry and banter was really fun to watch and hard to recreate. I didn't really mind Alex and Izzie because I think Alex's true love had always been Izzie. He was more into her and attached to her (esp later) than she was into him. She was his 'sun'. But when he slept with Olivia, I don't think she ever truly got over that and I don't blame her. Like, how can you fully trust someone the second time around? As much as I appreciate George's character, I could not for the life of me get WHY they put him into a relationship with Izzie?? They never had any sexual chemistry. They acted and felt truly like best friends and the sex scenes between them are always painfully awkward for me to watch. In my ideal world, Izzie and George never happened 😖 I don't particularly like any of George's romantic pairings...I like his character as a whole but his romantic endeavours were really perplexing to me 😕 I don't think he had chemistry with anyone? Maybe Olivia?
On Derek: I think my opinion has swayed quite a bit over the years. At first, I worshipped the ground he walked on and swon every time he was on screen. Then, I disliked him quite a bit because I realised he can be quite an egocentric, he really toyed with both Meredith and Addison because he wanted them both in different capacities but like Bailey said, was a coward to commit to a choice. Now, I mellowed out my opinion of him. I really come to appreciate his arc and make no mistake I BAWLED MY EYES OUT FOR DAYS AFTER WATCHING HIS DEATH. Despite everything, he IS McDreamy and I don't think the show would be half as big without MerDer. They are the ultimate OTP and the show runners could never recreate the chemistry Ellen and Patrick had. It was like catching lightning in a bottle. Never before and never since. 💫💜
That afterlife wedding made me remember just how powerful MerDer's love was. That they were and still are the love of each other's lives.

its crazy because you watch this whole love story play out. its the most beautiful thing to see. it breaks my heart and puts it back together all at once. you see these two and you might think this is the plot that makes greys anatomy, this is what gets the viewers to click. it is that of course, but its everything else as well. its the friendship (mer, christina, alex, and george). its the laughs and cries you let out while watching. all the quotes that have hit me like a truck and will linger in my thoughts forever. its the sense of family you can litterally feel through a screen. its powerful. this show is everything to me.

personally, i feel that meredith and derek belonged together. they were soulmates. the way and how much both of them loved each other was so pure, deep and true. both of them weren't perfect humans but their love was extraordinary. their love was always above their egos or disagreements. also, in the alternate universe episode (s8 ep13 - what if) they show derek and meredith ending up at the bar at the end of the episode which tells that even if things had been totally different, the people who are bound to be together, do get together.
i think they definitely deserved more time. and the fact that he died when she found out she was pregnant with their third child is just so tragic. zola growing up without her father was so tragic. he also died doing what he loved which was saving people's lives. I knew derek was going to die but could really feel meredith's numbness when he died. the episodes of his death was probably the saddest thing i've watched on television. genuinely, they were meant to be, were soulmates and deserved much more. 💜💙

I cant even express what this show and this love story means to me. I watched it during the pandemic when we were all going through the worst times, and it was really 'a breath of fresh air'. that said, the first 2-3 seasons were the best imo, maybe even up until George's death. But after that, it all just went spiralling downwards.
Absolutely 100% loved this. 2.5 hours of my life I wont get back but probably will lose again to rewatch. They are what my mom talks about when she mentiones my dad. He died and will always be her one true love that never again will be. Im feeling ALL the feels ❤. Great job!

Just took a great walk down memory lane and I'm crying at the end of it 😭 They are truly the best love story on TV, because we got to see them from the very beginning of their love, their pursuit of a relationship together, their ups and downs - and it all feels very realistic too! Nobody could replace Derek in Meredith's heart, just as Meredith stays within Derek's 'til his last breath (and seemingly beyond). I wish Shonda Rhimes and team could've come up with a great way to write their story further without tearing them apart - either through death or otherwise - because I would have loved to see them grow old together. But, alas.

I was young and stupid when I first watched this show, my life wasn’t great and I wasn’t very mature yet. I thought it was a masterpiece cause it was pretty much one of the only things I’d ever watched. I outgrew my Grey’s phase a while ago, I kept watching til now anyways cause I still liked it, but never as much as I did back then. I don’t know why, but the last few episodes (season 19) kinda lit the spark again for me, and I found myself here on RUclips looking at Grey’s content after years and years, and this video really brings back so many memories from those times; good memories and bad memories. This video is great and it deserves a lot of recognition, seeing the show splayed out like this feels like a rewind of my last 10 years and it’s given me a lot to think about and reflect on. I had forgotten how much I cared about these characters when I was younger, and so it’s really comforting to go through it again like this. Thank you for making this ❤.

I remain so sad and angry that Derek died. So angry that a world class Doctor who cared so much for his patients would do anything to keep them alive and administer the best treatment - would fall victim to a lesser Doctor that didn't have the skill and acumen to keep him alive. It's just so senseless to me. It's real life of course, but makes me so sad and angry.

This was SO BEAUTIFUL ...but you missed one off the greatest scenes where Meredith is on pain meds, being wheeled thru the hospital and says to McSteamy about being the dirty mistress. That was hilarious & epic considering Meredith's reaction to going back to his wife & sleeping with the other guys to try to lessen the pain in her heart. .
I’ve cried the whole time. I remember it when they first met each other and how they went through difficulties in each stage of their life. It’s been a while since I last watched ss14 as Netflix stopped airing the ss after that. To me MerDer is the soul of this entire series regardless of how wonderful other scenes are, I admit.
