I made one of these with a wheel made of a 12" diameter 1/2 thick steel plate. It penetrates and pulls a core well, but I'm finding that as the wheel rolls all the way around and the tine tries to exit the soil, it kinda tears the soil up as it tries to exit. Like it doesn't just come straight out, but sweeps a path up through the soil. Not sure I'm explaining that very well, but curious if you have noticed the same thing. Do your tines kind of tear the soil as they exit? My tines are about 3.5 inches long so that might be the issue - Do your tines penetrate about 2"?
Geez man thats really cool that you would want to buy one i haven't really thought about it. What do you think it might be worth? Spent about 5-6 man hours on it...?
@@chadwittmers3109 How much does it cost you to get the parts needed? Plus your time to make one? Seriously if you work this out you can make some cash. Youve got a winner here in the lawn community. Figure a Yard Butler 2 core push aerator is 70-100$ online...Put some rubber around the Flywheels so it wont dig into the lawn...its probably really heavy...like hundred pounds? 249$?

Nice build! What's the diameter of the flywheel, and what distance do you get between the holes?😀
Nice! How/What did you use to make the hollow tines?
Used 3/4" ID steel tubing cut at an 60° angle.
Well that was useless
Shit that is to fast and to short. Lol
How does it look finished, how hard to you press it down to dig in vs its weight.
Well, how much do you want to make another?
