They won't. As soon as Nintendo released the Switch, they began working on their next system. As soon as the PS5 was released, sony started work on the PS6. This is normal for Valve to be doing and isn't news. I think the point of the segment was that valve is planning on doing sequels _at all_, rather than "soon."
No kidding. I do most of my driving in places without service. When you're doing multi-hour drives in places with no cell. It gets scary when your check engine lights turn on. Especially when you're 20 miles from the nearest town.

A cell phone won't do much to help save your life if you don't have signal. But all I need to do is to be able to send an SOS text message to somebody. I'm honestly pretty hyped for this
Yeah. Someone I know just fell from a 30 foot cliff and lived. A big reason why is because someone in a group traveling next to his had a sat phone. so when it comes to 2fa there's another level to the story. SMS based auth is vulnerable to sim swapping of course, but there is another kind of auth that's even easier to defeat, and its app based. Push notifications. If all you have to do is click approve for the 2nd factor that can be exploited by the attacker signing on at the beginning of the day when you're signing into things and see the second one as probably just another login you did that morning, who knows you haven't had your coffee yet, better accept so you can get to work. Auth apps that make you type a code or a 2fa usb key are the best ways to go, personally I'd recommend the usb key.
It's too bad google intentionally crippled 2fa keys in android by not including webauthn support in webview and forcing the egenral android webauthn into google services instead of letting everyone use it. It's probably the most frustrating thing I've noticed that they've done.
New version doesn't really mean it would be a steam deck 2 it could just me some improvements to the original of the system you know like a 1.5 version of the system like replacing certain things that has been breaking in people's systems just like how i saw a video of someone dropping their steam deck and the right trigger wasn't working anymore because of a cheap plastic that was used for it. Also for a new version they could be releasing a lite version as it could be smaller and a little weaker and more affordable for people that would want the system to play small light titles like maybe games as Katana Zero as an example because for a lot of people i know that owns a SD right now are mainly using it to play their favorite indie titles on the go and of course would rather play the game at a constant 60fps instead of owning something like a Switch that might get them only 30fps (also i love my Switch so i am not hating on it).
I'm in once it can run a full VR headset. I want some kind of back strap for the Deck, one or two cables and a lighter headset. Then I'll buy the whole package.
This was phishing, not a hack and had nothing to do with text based 2FA. It was just a phishing attempt where the user had to fill in their own code... which would have worked with an authenticator as well.
I was hoping the RTX 40XXs would be out before the end of the year. Looks like it's coming out next year if details are going to be announced in December.
My main concern for about the Corsair curved monitor was not addressed in the video on short circuit channel, usually curved displays have an algorithm in built to make video appear without any distortion, since this acts as both flat and curved, does the display also change its displaying mechanism on the fly , does it have any sensors to detect the monitors present stance, any feature to compensate for the distortion???
Sorry, distortion wasn't the right term, "Efficient Depth-aware Image Deformation Adaptation for Curved Screen Displays " From web "Curved monitors can be good for photo editing but it's not the best option for complex perspective adjustments because the curvature can cause distortion in images." To avoid this samsung uses an image / video processing method to correct any deformation and to bring depth to the media.
Interesting not something I have heard of or had a problem with but then again all I use my curved monitor for is games and youtube. If you have that problem this might be the perfect monitor for you curve it for games flatten it for your complex perspective arrangements.

I'd rather they reconsider the form factor and airflow than give early adopters the option to reuse the plastic shell.
@@GSBarlev 1080p would be terrible for 15 watt gaming, they're going to stay at 720. And it's just a pc, not hard to keep compatibility.
@@rzul FSR is only going to get better, and I would be shocked if AMD doesn't have a skunkworks team working on a SoC that can compete with Apple Silicon on efficiency. Besides, there are plenty of non-gaming applications for that could benefit from higher resolution (namely media playback).
Finally, note that the GPD Win4 is going to have a 1080p screen (with a flip-out keyboard that reminds me of the Sidekick phone in all the best ways). And that's with current-gen tech.
@@GSBarlev bet the GPD Win4 is gonna be 2000 USD so im instantly not interested.
That's so much wishful thinking that it becomes unreasonable.
The Starlink thing is not going to provide Internet. It's connectivity for texting and voice calls, not data. The 2-4 Mbits is equivalent to 1000-2000 concurrent phone calls.
can't wait for steam deck 2 episode 2
Let's hope they can count to three 🤞
Heard that one only last 45 mins… :(
I could use an authenticator but the amount of times I format my phone whenever I feel slow means I forget to transfer the authenticators
TechLinked is genius. Seriously, I love catching up with so much content in the tech world in such a short vid.
Nintendo: We won't raise our prices ! :D
Everyone: Your console was already outdated when it hit the shelves, you aren't even in a position to raise prices.
I just bought a *Steam Deck,* so I'll skip *Steam Deck 2,* but I'll maybe pickup a *Steam Deck 2: Episode 1* when they come out!
I think I'll just wait until Steam Deck: Source.
I'll pickup the steam Deck VR
That google mess is so bad LMAO
If the Steam Deck 2 is true I just hope that it will be available everywhere especially the USA territories like Puerto Rico not just certain select markets each year.
Puerto Rico can't even keep the power on...a steam deck is the least of your concerns
I hope it focuses on power consumption instead of performance this time
Honestly the starlink Tmobile thing is amazing. I drive through signal-less areas a majority of the time. It's scary when your tire goes out or you start hearing engine noises and you know you're 20 miles away from the nearest town.
Sure, 4mb isn't a lot, but for emergencies it will actually save lives. Not to mention those who get lost at the gulf cost or the 2 coasts. Imagine Tom Hank's castaway if starlink-tmobile had been a thing?
Hanks: "WIIILLLSOOOON!". Mr Wilson: "What are you doing? Just call for help!"
I didn't even realise they killed Duo until now
All tech news should be delivered like this, by Riley and James heckling in the background. I have to watch it twice as I keep missing bits due to laughing so hard. That Meta joke killed me 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Sony be like : There's inflation everywhere except the US.
Ridiculous
6:49 "and trust me you don't want to be stuck in there"
"with mark Zuckerberg" 😂🤦I mostly watch techlink because Riley always crack me up with his spontaneity and meming. I'm not sure what it is with the the formula of them having 1 person being the anchor and another in the background making comments but I love this style of delivery and it keeps me coming tuned in for the next notification.
I love Riley's humour hahah
Good, cause my mind is absolutely blown by how I can go from playing mass effect to BoTW to crash bandicoot. I'm in love.
The new steam deck would probably be something at a higher price point with a better screen. A chip update doesn't seem likely in the next 5 years.
Mate NOONE said 5 years.
Oh my God... Imagine being sucked into a game where you have to live with Mark Zuckerberg!! 😰😭
I ordered my 512GB Steam Deck 1 year ago, and it finally arrives 4 days after this video. If they release a new Steam Deck 2 before all the pre-orders are delivered, and game developers stop supporting the older hardware in the 1st Gen before 2025, Imma be ticked off!
They won't. As soon as Nintendo released the Switch, they began working on their next system. As soon as the PS5 was released, sony started work on the PS6. This is normal for Valve to be doing and isn't news. I think the point of the segment was that valve is planning on doing sequels _at all_, rather than "soon."
Indie games will continue to target lower-end computers. I'm not afraid of Steam Deck becoming obsolete instantly.
I think th tmobile star link thing is Morse satphone services on a regular cell phone rather than a data connection thing. Which tbh sounds awesome
No kidding. I do most of my driving in places without service. When you're doing multi-hour drives in places with no cell. It gets scary when your check engine lights turn on.
Especially when you're 20 miles from the nearest town.
I was thinking about buying a steam deck, but now with a second version on the way I feel pressured to wait.
I wouldn't say it's anytime soon. You're probably looking at 4 years away minimum.
It's okay, the scalpers will get it before you get a chance
Minimum 2 years away but more likely 4.
dont wait lol. (this is the same company that released the index 4 years ago and still hasnt made a second version (but they HAVE made new VR patents so we all know something is coming.))
@@Snoop_Dugg nope... Valve made counter measure with them last year ago when it first available to reserve
i dont see myself getting a Deck until the 2, if I even do. I dont really have a use case for it. im interested, but know after a short honeymoon phase, itll collect dust. but if I do buy one, ill see what a v2 learns from this whole thing.
Wow, its crazy how close to wanshow end this goes live ;-)
What I would be looking for in a steam deck to is the following: OLED screen, and preferably the ability to play in 4K, lastly, it needs to be able to connect to the television similar to the Nintendo switch.
I really hope Valve Knowledges the meme and names them Steamdeck, Sd 2, Sd power or something like that, and then go back to Sd 4
Knowing Valve, I wouldn't be surprised if it goes Steam Deck, Steam Deck 2, Steam Deck 2.1, Steam Deck 4
@@vibaj16 it'll be Steamdeck, steamdeck 2, steamdeck 2 episode 2, steamdeck 4
"More than two, but... less than four...?"
Lmao the Google Meet news was just hilarious
Rick has so much positive energy. Watching him host Tech news always excites me for the day
A lot of people haven’t even got the one they ordered yet…
The Steam Deck 2 will be interesting.
I just hope this new Deck becomes available instead of waiting almost a year to get one.
Ill grab it if it comes out in like 2 years. I love the deck but to make it perfect a deck 2 needs a 1080p screen imo
And then people will play at 720 because no one likes having 20 fps on low, and it will look worse than 720 native.
I'd prefer 720p better battery life.
An OLED screen would definitely be awesome. Also to clarify id like a deck with a 1080p screen that achieves similar performance with that screen that the current deck does at 800p. No one wants low frames lol.
@@pqfire0950 yeah good luck with that, maybe if you triple the price
@@serbiagamingiscool515 hey i mean maybe it is asking too much. Hell this current deck is insane for the price. All I'm saying is that i probably wouldnt upgrade my current deck to a new one unless there was a good reason.
So would it make sense to get the original (first) Steam Deck, or are you better off waiting for the 2nd one???
I think it would make sense a new steam deck every two gpu generations or so.
I know the 4-2 Mbits per cell zone doesn't sound like a lot... BUT that's ok! I've actually wanted to get a sat-phone or some alternative for when I am out in the middle of nowhere or in the middle of a forest or on a mountain or something.
If every phone worked as one, imagine how many people would be saved, whether out at sea, on hiking trails, car crashes in long rural highways, deserted islands, etc. Honestly, this is an amazing humanitarian move for T-mobile and Elon Musk
Dang it, I JUST got my steam deck yesterday!
Sameee I just got the 512bg one too
@@RotorRad There will alway be something new around the corner and it will always be better. I think you’ll still like what you got!
@GH0STST4RSCR34M true. But the steam deck two will be the FINAL steam deck (as we all know, valve does not make third installments)
@GH0STST4RSCR34M And don’t hold your breath for a Deck 3.
@@pickleshanks the controls in some games are wonky as hell, and the layout for desktop mode was unusable until I found a tutorial to fix it, but now that I've tweaked it a bit I've started to have fun
so when it comes to 2fa there's another level to the story.
OMG, Linus was mentioned in a book! He'll sure to be famous after this.
I hope he'll use this new fame to get more views on his RUclips videos.
What is a book?
ok
Ooo, we get to watch the Osborne effect first hand with the Steam Deck 1.
Riley is the best host for this channel and you can't convince me otherwise.
man, XENEON is actually a kind of curved display i'd buy. adjusting the curve is JUST what most of us need to eliminate motion sickness
Then I'll buy the whole package.
has it truly began? a official not secret riley royale?
Oh F**K I laughed so hard "BUSTIN BEATS NA MEAN?, BOIIIII" you guys are a sick duo!
loved the HL 3 reference 😁
Steam Deck 2: Episode 1
This was phishing, not a hack and had nothing to do with text based 2FA. It was just a phishing attempt where the user had to fill in their own code... which would have worked with an authenticator as well.
Semicolons can be used to replace conjunctions in sentences with too many commas.
I was hoping the RTX 40XXs would be out before the end of the year. Looks like it's coming out next year if details are going to be announced in December.
GTC with details will be in September 20, 2022. I guess they made some typo/bad reading. Even the article they are showing says September in title
Xbox prices were raised in India, twice for Series S, which was already overpriced here.
No curved monitor (that I know of) has such an algorithm it's just not a problem. Just curious but have you ever used a curved monitor?
@@raptorjesus5488 no, but recently i was checking out the Samsung curved monitor, and in specs it said something like that.
Sorry, distortion wasn't the right term,
"Efficient Depth-aware Image Deformation Adaptation for Curved Screen Displays "
From web "Curved monitors can be good for photo editing but it's not the best option for complex perspective adjustments because the curvature can cause distortion in images."
To avoid this samsung uses an image / video processing method to correct any deformation and to bring depth to the media.
Interesting not something I have heard of or had a problem with but then again all I use my curved monitor for is games and youtube. If you have that problem this might be the perfect monitor for you curve it for games flatten it for your complex perspective arrangements.
I hope steam makes the first steps into gaming on ARM
Google should rename "Meet" to "Meat" and really confuse everyone. Then call the retired version "Met" as in the past tense.
I've never laughed harder at TechLinked than when hearing "Nice one Google. This sucks. You Suck."
imagine with steam deck 3 announcement they teas all the 3rd sequel of their games (HL3, L4D3, TF3, Portal 3). that would be sick.
