1:42 I like how she actually pointed out that this feature wasn't coded well. I feel like too many people complain that Mojang adds so much more stuff for April Fool's than their actual updates, when really the April Fool's stuff is just hastily thrown together with barely any testing

This is actually incredible for elevators because it only moves things that it's attached to when it BEGINS the move (and can be moved at all), but ALL blocks can be used to stop its movement at any floor. This means you could VERY easily make a multi-floor stopper by having a piston push a block in the way of the place you want to stop on, then simply move it back out of the way before starting movement again.
That’s what I thought when I first played it!
Use slabs, and other non-full blocks that don't touch

Honestly! Last year's had so much I wanted in vanilla, for mapmaking purposes - particularly /transform. They did add the size-changing that /transform had, which is probably the best part, so that's great :>

@@tridisian8235 there's a radius limit of 30(or 32) blocks. You can move anything that's within this radius but place one block farther out and it won't move.

This is so much smoother than the best motion you can get with shulkers in a vanilla datapack.. I hope that the smooth movement makes it to the game somehow, even if it's only a mapmaking feature

@@Orion_44 Pardon is a French word borrowed by English, and with the pronunciation he used, he was definitely speaking French. You wouldn't normally change accents when shocked, unless you were putting on a fake accent.

@@FyreMoon1 though you may not believe me, I'm actually not TOO into Undertale! I'm far more interested in Deltarune, but I sort of have to know Undertale by proxy. Curiously, I can name far more Undertale songs than I can Deltarune, though.
It'd be so dope to have a minigame based on something like this, and I see a lot of people saying that this was hastily thrown together with little testing, but my way of seeing this is that if they can do this in their free time for fun, imagine what could be done if they listened to the better ideas of the community and chose to try to add other cool stuff in like usability for the fletching table.
Dude, if they add the lashing potato, I would be very happy. Although it would probably not look like that, they would probably call it something else. But that definitely has some potential.
At this point this april fools snapshot might actually become a version used in adventure maps

I think floaters and grappling hook are a real test here, maybe for an end update since are mobility focused.

I hope mojang sees how excited everyone is about this and the actual FUN AND UNIQUE stuff they add in the april fools update. So that they can add something that's more polished to the real game that moves blocks attacked to it.

April fools updates make me a little mad that microsoft apparently is interfering so much with development. April fools updates although they have many flaws. You can still tell that mojang team still has a lot of creativity and ideas they just are limited in what they can do. Since they also need to support the corporate needs for minecraft as a business/brand.
I bend over backwards to get a piston elevator to work, and they just add this as a joke.
