    Olay was Ulay, Cif was Jif, I was 8, and pestered my mum for a bottle of that Once stuff, having been reeled in by the ad! It came in 2 colours (orange and green) in a very modern looking ribbed clear plastic bottle, which you had to shake to mix the formula, which looked like a space-age oil and water preparation. I think I spent most of the 1980s mesmerised by how cool everything looked and forcing my parents to buy it all for me. Those were the days...😎

    I have these on dvd that they sell on eBay but luckily I can watch them on here as the dvd I have got scratched up 👍

    Although I'm watching this on RUclips I can't help but think I preferred the days without internet and god it so upsetting watching these ads realising just how Britain isn't great anymore !

    One of my favourite things to do is phone all the old companies advertised and pretend I’m a time traveller and just seen their 1986 advert… it’s quite fun.. however when you ring up Bristol Hippodrome to book tickets for 1986’s Singin’ in the Rain production but they proceed to take my booking because Spring 2022’s show is.. yep you guessed it.. Singin’ in the Rain LOL!!!

    Baked beans 19p a tin 37 years ago. I just checked and they cost 22p in Tesco now. I wish everything had stayed so cheap

    he was great . but sadly tv times dis continued the magazine i think they should bring it back

    The best times for TV adverts. However you can see now see with the influence of American cuisine that the average Brit would end up being about 3 stone heavier than back in the 70s/80s.
