This show really grew on me as the year progressed. Nobody puts out a more challenging show than Avon. The yellow uniforms showed every little mistake and they cleaned it up well by GN's. Having a world class guard and percussion helps also.:)
i don't get how "A Fish Tale" = "Romeo & Juliet". i remember the movie and remember the scene between the two as they look through an aquarium, which was beautiful, but was that this shows intent?

Eddie Tucker I was in this show, so I guess I can kind of break it down. The beginning is more of an introduction to the whole fish idea. The next song is based off of the Montagues and Capulets battling, along with the song after that. The next song, “Kissing You”, is the part where Romeo and Juliet fall in love, portrayed by 2 of our colorguard members. After that, we have Tybalt’s death. Tybalt, in the movie, was Juliet’s brother who doesn’t approve of Romeo. Therefore, Romeo kills him. The final song is just the closer, where everything settles down, and where Romeo and Juliet die. Obviously, our directors didn’t want anything to be gruesome or anything like that, and decided, “Hey, they’re fish. Let’s have them jump out of the fish tank instead.” So yeah. That’s the explanation of this show.
@@mayonnaise4612 thank you!! it's a beautiful show that's performed well. now that i understand it's intent, i'll be able to enjoy the "whole" picture of it now. i judge downstairs, so i don't get to see the GE of the shows. it's always interesting to find out what the shows mean after the season is over... unless it's something that is so obvious, like Broken Arrow 2018. i appreciate it!
They well deserved 2nd, an amazing achievement from last years competition. Silver medal is never anything to scoff at or be upset over. They put on a fantastic selection of music. They played some of the hardest stuff out there too. Dreams is one of the highlights of the year.
Finals cam shook and blurred multiple times during their finals performance, especially the final chord. A testament to this hornline’s power.

I LOVE MARCHING BANDS!

2018 Program: A Fish Tale
I just noticed this but are the brass wearing a different colored uniform?
Can anyone share what is the support system for the very large seascape backdrop? It looks like metal poles? Thanks.
Jim Simmons yeah, it was these huge metal poles
Jim Simmons the metal poles weren’t exactly lightweight though 🙃
@@Pikachu_0457 they were weighted volleyball net posts

sorry carmel but avon should've won
Sorry both of you but blue springs deserved to win
Carmel swept 2018, winning every competition by a long shot. even Marion catholic couldn't do that in their hay day
These fish got fried at finals
They did better in finals than they did in prelims and semi finals though

@@nickniehaus1763 They well deserved 1st. Judges hand it to Carmel every year for political reasons
w0lfman this is a farce, they don't simply give out wins. Carmel 2018 was phenomenal, ridiculously clean, very difficult.
