@@l-3364 I'm not talking about the performance. The kids are amazing, Broadway quality performers. I'm talking about the design content. The only thing they didn't do was shoot red white and blue confetti cannons out of their butts. Meaningless.

@@graceehastings8443 The point is the show (not "score", I mistyped the word, sorry) has the obligation to mean something specific. Every show worth doing is a commentary on the present day. Why did they choose this theme in this year? Why a patriot theme with the worst president we've ever had? You know, this championship was held on the day that Trump made fun of the firefighters fighting the California blaze, some of whom died in the blaze, and insulted the bureau of land management.

My school opened with American Salute for my senior year show and yours sounds so much better than ours. I wish my band didn't simply overlay drumline on top of the piece.
Watching this two years later on inauguration day as we begin a new chapter in our country's history, the message of this show couldn't be truer.

This was an absolutely fantastic performance, but 4th place was the only place it could’ve been.

@@solsar3011 I mean, a drumcorps is also a lot smaller than these bands.. but yes, I guess its kinda obvious
Well for one, DCI marchers are all professional and experienced to March and play at the same time. Usually in a High School band, the possibility of people simply just Marching and not playing exists and that can also hold back some.
I see some comments talking about how it was very bad that this pro America show came out during the Trump administration. While I agree that it’s bad to have a show celebrating trump’s America that’s just now how I see this show. I think this is a commentary on what America should stand for and how it could be great if we valued the right things. For example, they spell out truth at one point. Something the former president is not exactly known for. They have the section commemorating veterans, when trump lied about having bone spurs to avoid the draft. I see this show as a plea for what could be and not a love letter to trump.
Meanwhile, we're still working on staying in lines 😭😭
Ugh. Great until the woodwinds broke into swing music...or rather attempted to break into swing.
This should have been the National Champion show. There were quite a few of the placements that were wrong this year.

The beginning was good, that's about it, as a fan of Texas A&M's band it's always nice to see downfield drill by a MARCHING band.
