- In his video we finally get flights on the new blade Infusion 180! I apologize for the delay in this video. Ran into some unfortunate events and had to do some figuring out but we got it perfect and I was happy enough to make a video with an explanation on how to fix the issues.
I spent hours and hours figuring this heli out. Tuning was a pain and a challenge with no regrets. Nice flying and great video. I have flown today about 6 batteries with no issues. 850 lipo's are ok but 450 mah is where its at. Much lighter and tons of power. I'm using Tattoo 450 mah 75c and they are perfect and affordable. Can't wait till Microheli comes out with some upgrades. Why do I see you throwing a 3 blade head on this one. Hint hint Lol Take care and happy flying :) Todd
Thanks Todd! I appreciate it, I have put around 50 flights and countless hours into this thing already lol I was the second person to receive one and have been trying everything. I used your numbers that you gave me on the last video I wasn’t far off from yours. I still need to find tune a little bit more detail is not hundred percent perfect to my liking but it is right there! Don’t worry! Microheli has already started the upgrades! 😉. Of course it will get a three bladed head as well!
I had all the same issues as you. I was getting ready to text you for your settings. Tail has been nuts...thanks for the help!!
I knew I wasn’t the only one lol I have two of them and they both had the same issues. Hopefully the steps will help you as well!
Please make the video, especially the forward programming settings you are using. Crashed mine due to the same problems you were having. Great flight
Thank you! Appreciate it, I will be making a separate video I have gotten quite a few requests. I’m gonna try to have it out as soon as I can Wednesday at the latest!
I Just picked one of these up brand new on fb marketplace for $150! Just watched this video and going to check the head block and make sure my gains are close to yours. Waiting on the batteries to get here for now. Thanks for the tips again! 😀
Awesome man! That is a heck of a deal! It is a great helicopter. I really enjoy mine now that I fixed it!
Note; I iust got mine July 2023, and it stil had the play in the head! same plastic part with too much tolerance. Come on Blade, that aint right..Fixed it thanks to your video
Wow, really!? That’s good to know. I thought the issue was resolved! I’m glad the video helped fix yours!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 yes it helped me get airborne; Now the only thing I am not sure of is to program that last part; P-mix 1 (panic button perhaps?). // `in normal flight mode I definetely have to make constant adjustments, it does not hover autonomously, am I correct on that? (i got an old DX7…)
@@BartMassee it will never hover autonomously, it does not have GPS. you have Auto level witch will bring the model back to level but it will always need to be corrected to some degree. You need to go into forward programming. Unfortunately I don’t think the DX7 will do that? I will look into it!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Excellent, yes thats what I thought. I see people take their hands of the radio, but aint doing that! I feel comfortable hovering and landing, and it feels epic. Just upgraded from my tiny blade mcpx, and finally happily flying a bigger Heli!! I love it!!!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 So was flying in a little wind, and the tail rotor blew out fluttering intensely... out of the box, this is not what I would expect, should I put better component tail rotor on there? quite disapointing really
My helicopter was perfect for about 30 fights then it started getting the shakes. Definitely will try your tips. Yes, please make your tutorial videos.
First thing I would look at is the slop/play in the head block. Grab your helicopter by the blade grips and rotate side to side and you will notice a lot of play. That’s where your shakes are coming from. I’ll be making a quick video probably be out Wednesday on how to fix it. Until we either get a replacement head block or a micro Heli upgrade!
Great flying as always sir,I might have to get one of these,I just got the 180 fusion, now I just need to get the infusion.
Thank you! I appreciate it! The Infusion is a great model to add to your Collection!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 okay I’ll be getting one soon
@@glenn4452 check out my other videos on the Infusion 180 about the head block fix. I’m sure HH has fixed the issue by now but it’s a simple fix if yours has any wobble/shakes.
@@westhobbiesrc8051okay sir, thank you will do,and thank you for everything you do for this hobby sir.
Great videos with serious knowledge. I learned so much.
I will have to try those tail settings as I put this model away after the first day and was about to sell it on ebay as you well know it flies like garbage out of the box. Out of the box it honestly has been the one chopper that I actually wanted to get rid of right away. Hopefully after applying your settings it will fly better.
Unfortunately I know your frustration! I had a lot of frustration in the first week or so. That is why I have not posted any videos on it, but I am confident now that it flies 99% perfect! I still need to fine-tune a little bit of detail but it flies 100 times better than it did. Also check your head for slop and play. That will create a massive vibration causing crazy cycling shakes at high head speed.
I added a surgical glove finger under the jesus bolt. and trimmed it a bit. Did the trick!! thanks for saving the day, it flies very well now.Probably going to order the scale airbus kit!! thanks a ton !🎉
Thanks for the information Jeff ,, really helpful,,I got so many I play around with Im not sure I have room for this one..so many things I'd rather have but I think it's a really good little helicopter..for someone wanting to learn and fun with flight times sound awesome
Course! My channel it will always be the truth and how to fix it! There has been a few videos released on this helicopter and not a single person explaining the issues and or problems. I have two of them and they both did the same thing and I know from reading posts and talking with others I’m not the only one. But! It is a fantastic little helicopter. It is perfect for someone just starting out or want a little bit tamer machine. The flight times are great! I have gotten eight minutes with normal flying no problem.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 I really like these blade helicopters now that I finally put the dx6e piece of junk down and bought me a regular dx6 3rd gen .I can't believe how precise you can toon them with forward programming..that new 180 fusion flys so good now I don't want to fly anything else,,then I put my 230 on it And was blown away with the hands off hover it gave my fleet,,my new old blade 150 is awesome on it too .. haven't tried my omp stuff on it yet cause I got them on open tx ,,radio master coming soon for them ,,my open tx radio now is just a cheap jumper ..so I'm getting me a radio master next, it just never stops lol but I love it and I'm excited
hello WestHobbiesRC . Thankyou for your video. can you tell me /us sometime, what all the Readings in Forward Programming mean. ie In Tail section, what does "0/sec, "Start" and "Stop" mean ? I'm running all stock std parts. No issues with Head slop / vibes yet - looks tight so far. I have adjusted the Tail PID's from out of the box 120-55-128, to 80-40-80 in Normal, and FM-1. Thanks for your time and Informative videos. Data
Hello! Thank you! I’m going to be making a full setup/tuning/adjusting video on the 6250 FBL. But the tail start/stop 0/sec would be a delay in the motor. So at 0 there I no delay, at 1 there would be a 1 second delay and so on (at least that’s how I understand it) thank you for watching and I’m glad you’re head is good and tight!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Thank you, and appreciate for your reply. Look forward to viewing your video on the 6250 setup. I communicated with Horizon Hobbies over the subject of putting a Manual out with all the meanings of each FP Option. They cannot confirm if that would ever happen. o to have someone from the Automotive Industry to do a Manual for them.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Thanks for the comment about the Loose Head problem. I would never have thought of looking there for that problem, as I'd expect no problems from a New Hello. One thing I can say though, is watch out for a Loose Collar on the Main Shaft. Mine came with a collar that had it's screw strip the thread in the collar. that caused the Collar to slip up the Shaft, and allow the Top Main Bearing to come out of it's Holder. caused a rather unbalanced head / Blade Flopping experience.
Beautiful flight my friend, one question from me is whether the helicopter os rx replaced? If not, how do you bind it?
Thank you, what do you mean by RX replaced? Binding is simple just insert bind plug and hold the buying button on your transmitter while powering up.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 yes, if I buy this type, can i bind it directly without having to replace it
@@KalibasauRC_64 putting a brand new FBL on the heli? If it’s the same, yes. Just have to bind it when your done.
took up the issue with HH support; They offered to send a new part, to solve the tolerance issue, and they said its a rare occurance. They will send new fitting part.
Good! I hope the new head block fixes it. I’ve seen wat to many of them have the same issues to be a rare occurrence.
One other thing about this heli, The tail blades are a new style that Blade came up with and have way to much flex to hold the tail in a punchout. Cheap plastic that has flex and flimsy. A after market carbon fiber blade for this would make it far better. Most of the blade heli's have better plastic 3 blade tail rotor blades. I have no idea why they would put these blades on it. The main blades are from the old 180 CFX. Same blades that come as a spare for the Fusion 180 Smart. I love this Heli even with the hassles. All in all sure beats spending time having to build one and 180 size for me makes for a great easy to see park flyer. :)
Yeah the tail blade is definitely not the best. But Teleperformance isn’t terrible either, I did see someone I think Coeshow619? Used a three bladed drone prop on the tail. I am going to see if the M2 carbon fiber microheli tail blade will work! Hopefully in about a month we will start seeing the prototype microHeli parts for this helicopter on the channel 😉 they are coming!
I can understand having to tune it a bit but to have to pull the head apart and install heat shrink on a brand new heli to get it to fly properly seems ridiculous, just my thoughts and I have many Blade helis with no issues.
I 100% agree! Definitely not cool to have to do that on a brand new helicopter. Unfortunately the model was rushed to market, I think that there should’ve been some more testing done but it honestly is a good model. I enjoy it now that it’s fixed I know that a new head block is in the works so hopefully soon we will get a replacement block that just fits right on.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 thanks for the honest review, I can’t wait to get ahold of one of these, when the issues are worked out lol.
Of course! Like I have said many times, I will always give an honest review regardless of if the model was sent to me for review or not. That is an understanding I tell everybody and if they don’t wanna work with me that’s cool too. I built my channel from the ground up and I’m not going to turn on loyal or push products just for a free model or two. It is a fantastic helicopter! I really enjoy it especially now that it is fixed it flies great and the long flight times are a plus!
Great video bro! Thanks for the tips on the head. If I get one, I'm doing what you said. See you soon in Tullahoma. :)
This is blade's first ever attempt at designing a direct drive heli so I am not surprised that there are issues with it.
Really the issue was just the FPL tune, I have two of them and they’re both severely off. But now it is flying pretty good! Of course the slop in the head block it was a big deal. But not all of them are like that.
Junk guys
Cool heli
Great video my guy. And i just picked my heli it’s a logo 600 se. Do you think it’s good or do you have any other recommendations in the same category ( i will be running it on 6s)
Logo makes a great heli! I’m pretty sure parts are easily available. Definitely a great size, 600 is one of the best sizes out there as they are still big but not too expensive to crash and repair. Any Align Trex 550/600 is a great one as well!
How do I set up battery voltage telemetry in a DX 6 Gen2? Any help would be great.
Have these issues with the sloppy head block and tail tweaking been fixed in the later batches? I sure hope so because I just ordered one. LOL
I hope so and have been told so but I can’t confirm. I hope yours is perfect but if not, I have videos on what to fix! Lol
Yes, I saw that and I'll be paying attention if I need the fix(ex)! Thanks!@@westhobbiesrc8051
Hey Man you got us dizzy by all doing rolls non stop.... anything else? I would like to see how it's doing on fast tik toks and piro flips etc
I’m sure others will love for you to watch their videos! I’m still waiting on you to post videos on your incredible insane amazing flying skills!! I’m sure you would have a amazing audience! 😂
When is the warthogs review? lol
Ike the A-10?
@@westhobbiesrc8051 the Toy brand but seeing an A-10 would be nice
Do they still even make them anymore? Man I had so many of those as a kid lol
@@westhobbiesrc8051 I don't know. I think they still have a website you can order from but I haven't seen them in store for ages now
50 flight already
How can you say don't attack Blade, who's fault is it for the vibrations and slop. Don't get me wrong, I like blade and my blade helis
Because of the simple fact that when any model is put to production especially a all new designer is bound to be issues. So there’s no point in bashing a company over a issue that has been since resolved and taken care of.
Be straight forward and say that this helicopter is garbage, you had gotten two and still needed quite a bit of tweeking .....im sorry thats not in anyway normal, im not saying that blade is junk because they're not, however, let's call a spade a spade..... i love your videos and truly value your opinions, but i feel that on this one you spend alot of time making excuses for a helicopter that obviously missed the mark, there's noway anyone especially newbies should or someone with your knowledge have to do aaaaall the tweaking you had to do and research just to have it fly decent.... keep keeping it real.... i love Blade helicopter and have almost everything they made even the old flybar helicopters, but this infusion 180 is no normal bnf blade helicopter, doesn't even come close to the same class Blade fusion 180 smart bnf.... HUGE DIFFERENCE from the infusion 180.... i have both and stripped all the guts out of the infusion 180 so its just the chassis, blades , canopy and gave my infusion 180 to my 8 year old nephew to play with his little army men. So with all do respect, i still value your opinions and still love blade products, but this here helicopter was a Huge POS.... please forgive me if i offended anyone, this is by no means the view of the masses, just my unbiased personal experience and personal view having many Blade Products, which I'll continue to purchase.... all in all, they have a remarkable history of great quality products.... Absolutely no one should have to spend hours and hours on a stinking BNF anything, let alone a bnf helicopter from a reputable company just so you can fly it normal without vibration and all the other issues... I'm just saying.
The helicopter is not garbage. It’s actually a fun little machine especially as a beginner or somebody that just hovers around and flies in normal mode. Yes, and I have said it in other videos. It did take a bit of work to get it right. And I have said in other videos as well, that I hoped they would’ve updated and fix the issues that was found which I again have explained in other videos, so no, the helicopter is not garbage but yes, it did need work. Still fly mine regularly both of them actually the only “modifications that were needed to fly right” where a peace of head shrink and some gain adjustments. Now any and all helis regardless of the brand that are BNF or RTF or even when you build from a kit will need gain tuning and adjustments. But you have to know what to look for what do.
Sorry, but I do not consider this a beginner heli: too much to fix and adjust to get moderately flyable. For me, a beginner helicopter is something that can be flown by a beginner out of the box. This looks like a great helicopter for an experienced pilot who knows how to tweak/tune helicopters but not for beginners.
Unfortunately there is no such thing as take it out of the box and just go fly. No matter what every helicopter will need some kind of adjusting whether it’s just a simple gain adjustment or more. This is a new model so yes there is bound to be issues on a complete brand new design. Now do I think the testing should’ve been done more? Yes but it will be fixed soon. It is 100% a beginner model.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 I disagree. The OMP M2 can be flown out of the box by a beginner with stock settings. It may not fly how you as an advanced heli pilot likes it but I am learning to fly Helis on a OMP M2 and I was flying with no adjustments to setting straight out of the box. It was not until my first crash on my 3rd flight, that I had to make any adjustments and even then it was only to level the swash plate after replacing a servo arm. I have made no other adjustments to my M2. So that is my standard of what a beginner heli needs to live up to. Oh, and I have been flying with auto-level off for 90+% of the flight time.
What changes do you think are needed to an OMP M2 out of the box for a beginner to fly it well? Not what adjustments are needed to make it fly the way you want it to fly. My answer is NO Changes Needed.
Given how much you had to do with this heli (unless you are saying it is a pre-production model), it sounds like you can not say the same thing for this heli. If it is pre-production, wait to review a production model with No Changes before calling it a beginner heli.
@@bitogre out of the box a M2 you need to slow the servo speed down and change gain setting if not you get some crazy shakes. You have to remember these things are mass produced. So just because one person gets one that is perfect or maybe 10 of them that are perfect doesn’t mean all 10,000 of them are perfect. No matter the brand the company so on and so forth every helicopter needs to be gone through and or adjusted depending on the production. There is no such thing as take it and fly it. If you do that then I highly recommend you start getting into a routine of going over everything checking bolts checking Loctite so on and so forth. I have had an M2 come straight out of the box with the blade grip thrust bearings glued together from too much Loctite. But! It was brand new, it’s a logic that everybody in today’s day seems to think they can literally take some thing and go fly it unfortunately that’s not always the case. So yes this is definitely a beginner model and if you were going to be in this hobby you really need to learn how to set things up and or fix things and or look for problems. Again! These things are mass produced. So there will be issues! There is many Infusion 180s that have zero issues out of the box and are fine but there is quite a few of them that have issues. How much I had to do? I literally did two things LOL that is nothing! Or completely programmed in FBL from the start. I started flying in the days where you literally had to build everything from a box of parts there was no such thing as a pre-assembled model in a box. No this is not a preproduction model but a model rush to the market. Things will get fixed and the next batch will be better. That’s the way it works lol
Omp m1 or m2🤫
Got both lol
Another money pit from HH OMP M2 rocks
Lol How do you figure it’s a money pit? Gain adjustments- Free. Adding a peace of heat shrink-0.02 cents….. yeah big money pit!
It's no M2 that's for sure I'm going to pass till they figure out that shit
Unfortunately not, it’s a different level of heli. It’s more of a tame easy going heli. But I think with a little upgrades it could be a beast!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 I'm hoping so as well.
I know it will! And don’t worry! We will have some microheli upgrades soon!
