    Funny how the manual that comes with the 230s smart, doesn’t explain how to get into trim mode. Thanks for showing this! Took 2 attempts, but now the heli flys so much better! Before this I had a bad drift to the aft and left. It would also pitch forward hard when coming out of idle up back into smart mode. Now all is well. Pirouettes are solid. Thank you 🙏

      Right on, glad this vid is still helping people all these years later. I had a lot of fun with that heli. Have spare booms, tail rotors, main gears and links on hand. If you get to throttle hold in time often enough the main gear will survive.

    I have the 230S Smart as well and I was constantly having to adjust the trim due to constant drift, all to little avail. I had never heard of the trim flight until I saw your video. I immediately went out and tried it and all I can say is thanks a bunch. The heli now flies almost hands free. Works like a miracle!

    I've done mineon fairly windy days on my 200 FP and it still totally works just fine. Gotta commend Blade for the 200/230

    I know you mentioned being out of RC and this video is old but I think you saved me. I keep flicking throttle hold before the bind button at the end. and I think that's cancelling my trim data. I'm about to find out soon enough! 😊

    Thanks for this video. I just got a new 230 S V2 and haven't flown it yet. And I thought the mountains looked really familiar and realized you're in Missoula.

    Love your video, but you can't just plop, a geared tail down lol.
    Maybe a few times, but this chopper looks interesting. Still selling, I like the night one!, and since you can, plop it down due to the rear motor being direct lol. Man every video I've seen, that tail is rock solid, would love that!
    Again, great video. Just poking you on the, "plopping" part hehe. Cheers mate!

    Both of the 230s smarts I have purchased drift hard tot he left. like at times I have to be full right stick to keep it from running away. not stable at all. happens inside in a controlled environment as well. Even when let off an hit the panic button it goes quickly left, both of them do it. the second one not as much as the first. i have two RTF models, the first one is on its wat to Horizon now to be looked at after i sent them video of it.
    i also can not get it to complete a trim flight, i do the procedure you show here and i get the first wiggle but when i land and press the panic/bind button again i just get a flashing red light on the receiver and a beeping tone. i have 660 in Heli's and neither one work.

      sorry for late reply, sucks that it isn't seeming to setup properly for you. I've been out of the heli game for long time now and don't have any of the 230S setup in my memory anymore. I'm sorry I can't be of any help. I would honestly look into the OMP 2 heli, ohiomodelplanes.com/products/omp-hobby-m2-rc-helicopter-v2-version-omphobby-m2-v2-preorder?variant=32289396588618

    Mine does nothing, it's a v2. No menu. No beep or swash hopping. Flies great, but that's not the point.

      It's been so long since I've done any helicopter stuff I'm unsure what could be the cause. If you have Facebook try and join the RC Heli Hangout group and ask there.

    Hi,can you tell me how to bind Dxe to 230 please, be much appreciated.!Thank you.

    • @RCBound
      @RCBound  2 года назад

      Hey, I've not messed with RC stuff for a long time. I believe you need a bind plug in the receiver. Then power on the heli, then hold bind button on DXE while powering it on. It should bind. I would look up the manual on the Blade website to be sure. I also saw someone use no bind plug. He powered on the heli, then flipped the heli and held it upsidedown. After that he powered on the radio while holding bind plug.

    thx rebound for your repliy, just got another question if you don't mind, how can they sell it as RTF , if when it arrives you have fine tune it and mess about with the settings ,in the hope you don't bin it ?.. Anyway in answer to your question havent done a trim flight , just havnt had a nice day for weeks , going to take it to a model meeting in a field on sat , near me and hope they can sort it out for me , , watch this space ( if no luck I post it to you and let you sort it for me ??? , before I end up selling it on eBay , oh love your videos , ( p.s no I haven't updated the firmware or calibrated it , wouldnt know where to start, would it need that then seeing its straight out of the box ? )

    • @RCBound
      @RCBound  8 лет назад

      Yes, is it frustrating. I however don't fly with autoleveling so I never was as frustrated as the those seeking autolevel. the update and calibration most likely will be required to get your heli flying good and hovering in place while using autolevel. You very well could attempt a trim flight as the heli is now and see if that works. If it still doesn't hover with minimal input then the update and calibration would be required. I hope the people at your meet can help. I would definitly be willing to update, calibrate, and trim flight it for you but it would be cheaper for you to do it. I don't think you'd really want to pay to ship it 2 ways though.

      wow you seem to know your thing about this , which is great , I've emailed this club and it's on for this sat 12/03/16 weather permitting , but I've told um it needs setting up an still in the box as I'm unable to to do this due to work committments, am not totaly satisfied they can help ,but I'm prepared to turn up and see wot happens, never say never !,, it could be coming your way if not , am happy to pay shipping cost + your time ,, Thankyou :-)

    • @RCBound
      @RCBound  8 лет назад

      +Clive Grellis I don't think shipping it my way will be necessary. Those people helping you better know what they are doing or it will be frustrating for everybody involved. Male sure they have watched the video on how to perform the trim flight. Also remember, if you don't update it first and perform the calibration process, you trim flights might be futile attempts. I would suggest taking extra tail props out there with you. Possibly an extra main gear and a pack of pitch links (the all plastic ones up to the grips) too. My very first crash took out all three of those. Booms will be good to have on hand just in case. It's also a good idea to reinforce the front skid mounting point. You'll see how weak it is and I just put a global of hot glue right above the front skid mount on both sides so it won't flex up much. Good luck!

    I have the 200 S RTF model and have not yet flown it, as I am a beginner ...are the trim instructions the same for both the 200 S and 230 S...thanks..

    • @RCBound
      @RCBound  7 лет назад +1

      Gary Vale I'm not sure, I suggest looking that up in the manual or calling HH tech assistance

    • @garyvale8347
      @garyvale8347 7 лет назад

      ...my question is why wouldn't I just keep the heli tied down on a level surface and perform these steps ...seems it would be a lot easier than hovering in place .....especially for me as I am a beginner....

    • @RCBound
      @RCBound  7 лет назад +1

      Gary Vale when a heli flies it leans a bit to the right in order to maintain a stationary hover. This is because the tail is pushing the heli a bit to the left as it is also acting as anti-torque. So, in my mind a heli needs to be in flight in order to do a proper trim flight. However, I think I've read that some people have had pretty good success holding the heli down and doing a trim flight. I would suggest getting a cheap quadcopter and learning to hover and do basic flight with it then just do a proper trim flight for the heli with confidence. You can get some small quads for super cheap.

    just got mine delivered today , am new to this hobby and have notice that the swash is tilting to the right ( looking at it front on ) am guessing this is ok for me to attempt a trim flight ? any advice on this ? Help me guys ..lol

    • @RCBound
      @RCBound  8 лет назад

      yes, the swash will tilt a bit. Proceed with the trim flight just hold your cyclic to correct for the tilting swash upon lift off. Have you updated the firmware and calibrated your heli yet? That might be necessary if trim flight doesn't not work.

    With FM mode 2 you can flight inverse ?

    • @RCBound
      @RCBound  7 лет назад +1

      Wora N I believe you can fly inverted with both FM1 and FM2. FM0 is normal mode. FM1 and FM2 are referred to as Idle Up 1 and Idle Up 2 where throttle(head rpm) is locked and governed allowing the heli to fly inverted while giving negative collective pitch input without effecting the throttle input. In FM0 the throttle is mixed with collective pitch and when you drop the throttle stick below 0 it will lose power accordingly.
