That one looked quite technically challenging. I have to wonder how badly that landing pranged the jump car. Probably not as badly as the one where it landed on its rear bumper. OUCH.
@@colormedubious4747 There is a bigger jump with filmed landing in Knight Rider Blooper/Outtakes. The front nose fell off, the rear glass also fell of crashed on the ground. Whole bodyshell bent like a banana.
They hired an engineer to calculate if it was possible and the engineer said the car will probably crash into the buildings. Jack Gill however said he would make the jump anyway, and he did.
That oxygen vent doesn't get enough credit. It was needed in the most critical moments.
Every car needs that to help keep people awake

The 1st one in the Pilot EP with the view from the bottom remind in me of the Brian's Skyline jumping over the gold Supra in 2Fast2Furious.

"I may survive the impact, however you will not". That line will always make me chuckle and that's not even KITT at 3:36 lol. God bless stock footage. But to answer the question "white bird" was my favorite S1 turbo boost moment. lol at michaels face when he ejected the henchmen @ 6:33.
Which turbo boost from "White Bird"? 5:41, 6:04 or the one where they smash through a plane which isn't included here?
KITT you seem to have transformed into an old scrap car with round headlights as you jumped off the cliff 😂 I guess in the 80s they just hoped people were stupid or blind .

3:47 I remember watching this episode and noticing that he would use the turbo boost for straight line speed the entire episode, nice to see that they basically mapped the jump function of the turbo boost to rocket fire for this mission. Felt like an inconsistency at 0:11 since in various episodes the turbo could serve as both a jump button and what is essentially a nitrous button, depending on what was convenient for the plot
What about KITT and KARR's turbo boosts in "Trust Doesn't Rust"?
That's right, another scene was also overlooked here. In (The Topaz Connection). There KITT jumps over a river of some sort. I strongly suspect that this also happens because of the turbo boost.
how many Firebird Trans-Ams did they destroy in these movies?

They should have atleast shown some flames coming out of Kitts exhaust everytime the turbo boost was initiated to show some realism. The amount of energy it would have taken to propel a 1 ton Trans-am over obstacles would have been phenomenal!

That was actually footage from the 1970s film "The Car"
What you saw jumping off a cliff was actually a 1972 Lincoln.
Even if kitts stunts were not real that was one of GM's best looking cars ever. Trans am rules👍

The most important part of Turbo Boost, is to look over your shoulder after landing. Probably to check that the rear end hasn't collapsed like in the shot at 03:59.

Every Turbo Boost? I think there were a few missing, nice to see nonetheless. Some were more convincing than others when you take into account the ramps they used and the camera angles.
So...3:47...how is Rocket Fire equal to Turbo Boost? I never understood that. And next to the button is Rocket BOOST. Was this an error or something? I'd like to understand.
