I never got why they called it a turbo boost. Turbos do create boost. But, boost makes you go faster. They should have come up with a better name for KITT's jumping ability.
I think the name turbo boost is because: 1, It sounds good, better than rocket boost or jumping whatever, for instance. Names, colours and sounds are very important in this show, think of the Green lighted gas pedal from season 3, totaly useless but very cool. 2. Turbo refers to kitt's turbine, used for a combination of speed burst and jumping

The Japanese dub from TV Asahi called it "Turbo Jump" more often than turbo boost, but let's be honest turbo boost sounds more exciting than turbo jump
Jose,it’s totally possible to do so…of course the car would have to be heavily modified to withstand jumps and landings from them,also the car would have to have a high powered propulsion system to achieve thrust and lift to make the jump.
