  • No other show or movie car stunts could hold a candle to the crazy ass car jumps performed for the 1979 TV show The Dukes of Hazard! That legendary orange confederate decorated 1969 Dodge Charger RT or better known as "The General Lee" performed multiple record breaking jumps that simply blew the minds of viewers of the time and it still does today! In fact, there were approximately 300 1969 Dodge Chargers totaled throughout the making of this show sadly, but they certainly weren't sacrificed in vain as they all went out in recorded honorable glory!
This is a collection of all the best General Lee jumps throughout the whole TV series in full HD!
Oh' and for all you Duke/General Lee perfectionist critics out there, do know that there are no duplicate or fake car jumps in this video. Although some jumps were filmed in the same locations multiple times making them look similar, these are all unique and real General Lee jumps in my video!
This one took me a lot of time and focus to put together folks, so I hope you thoroughly enjoy the best jumps of the General Lee brought to you in full HD glory!

if you have never seen a general lee jump in person, I can tell you, the sound of it landing is the sound of death, like a fatal car crash, it is un nerving, but a thrill to see.

Back when car jumps were REAL and no CGI. I love how the show made it look like the '69 General Lee Charger shrugged off every jump, especially when hearing the narrator, but almost every single one are brutal, car-destroying lands in reality. They're epic, but painful to watch. The show killed 325 old Chargers. :'(

We're all still Alive and so is the General Lee. If ya look listen to John Schnieder there were 4 new ones built by fan folk the last 4 years by various individuals. I believe John has 2 of his own. For anyone interested there had been a You Tube of one of his being built but I think due to the political dumb shit the video was pulled. He has had at the least 2 built with his own creators and money... I saw one of his General Lee's on display at a Cabela's sporting goods store and possibly the same car in Arlington Texas a few years ago.

One morning at Lake Shurwood we saw a small plane at 12,000 feet, a stuntman was skydiving to work he landed with a beer in his hand, true story. There will NEVER be another Show Like it. I was a crazy teenager and thought it would be fun. I would buy crappy cars for very cheap and see how far I could make them fly. This all ended when I broke my back, a leg, arm, and a few ribs at 19 years old. I'm not gonna try to do that ever again, lol. 4:42 and 10:19 are my favorites... Same jump location, different episodes. Fun Fact: They stiffened the front suspension and put cement in the trunk to get the cars to fly the way they do. Most of the jump ramps were short and steep so they could be hidden better, which tended to cause the rear to bounce up if it wasn't deadened.

I wish they would show the unedited version of these jumps sometime so it shows the car folding into a pancake when they land lol. It's amazing how naive I was as a child thinking that was real.awesome video though thank you I didn't realize they jumped that thing so many times They must have totaled a hundred cars

Great video. Nice to see these jumps in such high quality. :)
Although I deeply apologize, but I must do my "Duke/General Lee perfectionist critic" as you put it, because, despite your being certain there are none, quite a few of these jumps ARE duplicates. They don't just look similar, they really are the same. One example, the jump at 0:39 had its footage reused at 3:58. I didn't wanna mention the duplicates, but when I read your statement in the description, I'm sorry, I felt the need to.
    Again, despite this, great video.

Yeah, did the best I could not to; but there probably are some partial dups as you mentioned. They recorded in the same areas so often that it is pretty hard to tell on a lot of the shots. Thanks for the input and kind words too :-)
