As an Indian, i left unanswered why Aussie bowlers can trouble batsman badly n why not my team bowlers.. Those were the days when Aussie mostly played only 1 inning n opponent played two ☺️
Close but I would have to put the West Indies, who didn't lose a Test series for nearly 15 years from 1980 to 1995, on top. It was a truly outstanding Australian team though. There was such a predictability about their winning, not just in Tests but in ODIs too. The only time they failed to dominate was when playing India in India.
Statistically, over the last two years, India has been by far the best test team. Their W-D-L record is 20-5-2 with 8 straight series victories. But the only away series in that period was against those dismal WI & SL squad. It's an abomination that a cricketing powerhouse like India takes almost 3 years to play a test @ countries like SA, Aus, and Eng. I think BCCI has figured that every time they go on an extended tour of Aus, SA, NZ, and Eng, someone always loses their job, so they rather tour those countries as less frequently as possible.
2005 ashes, Mcgrath rolls his angle and misses that vital test match, my heart sank as i knew there goes the ashes. Apart from Warne our other bowlers were ordinary and straight up and down bowlers,e.g. brett lee who had absolutely no sideways movement in English conditions, he had no brains to slow the ball down and try to get a bit of swing etc. No one came close to Glen but the lozenges that the Poms used on the ball came a close second.
It's diffiicult to imagine a more brutal and devastating result. You are a deserved number 2 in the world and you have every right to be confident at home. Aust just put their foot down and reminded the world how powerful that team was. Hayden Martyn Gilchrist tons, and McGrath/Warne taking wickets. An innings and 360 runs between 1 and 2 in the world ? Crazy.
Unbeatable players, amazing to watch this collection of skill coalesce all into one team. Hayden? Langar? Mark Waugh, Steve Waugh, Rick Ponting? Really? Then, Damien Martyn, Adam Gilchrist, and the three most dangerous bowlers in the modern game, Warne, McGrath and Lee. Is it any wonder these guys broke records? In this particular game, Australia won by an innings and 360 runs. Martyn scored 133, Hayden 122, and the world's best ever WK-batsman Gilchrist an unbeaten 204 from just 213 balls. They broke records because even though they all had off days, there were enough game-changers in the line-up to cover them. Amazing period of cricket, all caught on camera.

This Australian team was the best team in the whole cricket history, Do you agree?
Close but I would have to put the West Indies, who didn't lose a Test series for nearly 15 years from 1980 to 1995, on top. It was a truly outstanding Australian team though. There was such a predictability about their winning, not just in Tests but in ODIs too. The only time they failed to dominate was when playing India in India.
I would like to know your thoughts in the present scenario teams you would consider best each format?
for me ODI-INDIA , TEST-INDIA and T20-WESTINDIES
Statistically, over the last two years, India has been by far the best test team. Their W-D-L record is 20-5-2 with 8 straight series victories.
But the only away series in that period was against those dismal WI & SL squad.
It's an abomination that a cricketing powerhouse like India takes almost 3 years to play a test @ countries like SA, Aus, and Eng. I think BCCI has figured that every time they go on an extended tour of Aus, SA, NZ, and Eng, someone always loses their job, so they rather tour those countries as less frequently as possible.
Good point of view but looking at the 2019 world cup India must start touring such conditions
Biggus Dickus India will tour all the nations they have hosted last year.England , Australia, New zealand before 2019
Good video mate! Warne & McGrath were legends, I was a big fan of Gillespie as well!
My Heroes. Best Victoria/ NSW combination ever.
McGrath the bowler of Batsmen era
The world's most dangerous bowling attack.
Frdanielpoovannathil
They tried to defend but ended up giving their wickets away. Accuracy means McGrath 🙏😍
Really miss shane warne, glen mc grath and all other legendary bowlers, hope in future, people like these will be born again
Crazy.
This aussie best ever to walked on planet earth
Aaaah those were the days... Hopefully we can get back to that standard soon...
Amen 🙏🏻
Yes I remember when South Africa destroyed the Aussies at Newlands CG back in 2011. Aussies got bowled out for 47 runs only...2'nd innings that was...
I remember when Gibbs dropped a catch the loose the World Cup
Do you also remember Australia winning the next match?
This aussie best ever to walked on planet earth
@@thefury4424 yes that was devasting for us...But sandpaper sold for cheap in Aus a few years back didnt it? 🤣🤣🤣
@@Emersonion and didn’t your captain get zippers banned from international cricket uniforms?
Mcgrath and my boi Shane warne** destroyed south Africa. This team is greatest ever our generation ever witnessed . 100% legends
Warne was a magician!! RIP
When you have warne and mcgrath in same team that qualify as cheating
Also Brett Lee, Jason Gillespie as back up!!🤣🤣
And mick kasprowicz
Golden Era for Australian Cricket. You have Stuart MacGill, Brad Hodge, Damien Martyn, Micheal Clarke, Darren Lehmann, Andrew Symonds, Colin Miller , Hussey brothers waiting for their opportunity!
@@ussmc1 not too mention people like Andy Bichel, Stuart Law etc.
@@ussmc1 Martyn was in that team
Weren't they just great
STEVE WAUGH
BEST CAPTAIN
Waugh inherited this team. It was Tayler that built the team, and the winning culture.
@@7s29 Allen Border Actually, But ok..
Best odi team of all time----- Australia (2000 to 2008)
Best test team of all time------ West Indies(1976 to 1995)
Pakistan 1992 - 2001
Despite of fielding and Fixing
The late 90's to early 2000's Australian team is the greatest bunch that ever played the modern day game. They could hit any target and defend anything. Top notch!
This team was winner of 16 consecutive test match which was record . Until india break that streak in kolkata test match laxman and dravid amazing partnership they produce to beat mighty after follow on
But it wasn't only that test record.tgus Aussie team dominated world Cricket n for fuck sakes won three world cups in a row.its hard to win back to back but 3 is something I don't think will be achieved again especially in modern cricket
Gelen Macgrah &Shane war both boller best performance of Ausi...won Tests match
Imagine McGrath at one end, Warnie at the other.
Prince and Boucher were among the batsmen that Shane Warne dismissed the most times.
Good bowling. Two of the greats.
9/10 wickets to warne/mcgrath . RIP warne.
I miss this Australian team
What a team Australia was in those days
Nice stat John, really strong sides by both teams. Just one of those days...
McGrath is a legend for me.
They were a deadly combo
Yes this team was second great in whole cricketing history ..
First one West Indies in 1975 to 1983.
Contain.. Michael holding Viv Clive four deadly pacer..
Such a fluent action, effortless and accurate... Noone would stand a chance!!
great test that one if you are an Aussie :) player of the match was Gilly who knocked up a casual 204 no.
Best test team of all time,a few goats in that squad..
Aus without warne and mc grath is really tough to imagine
Undoubtly the best test bowling pair of that era.
An elite bowling combination
RIP Shane, the spin wizard.
Great bowling by Shan warne
Warne and McGrath destroyed many a batting line up in that era. But what about the slips cordon? The batsmen knew if they nicked it it wouldn't be dropped.
Mark Waugh, ever ready to greet the cherry.
McGrath getting hat-trick wat a sight
Glen McGrath with the pace and precision become so lethal to play for any batter....
Now this is real Surgical strike !!
Unbeatable combination
This Australian side was so dominant that it left opponents in the dust ... what made it even worse any opponent that was touring would have exhibitions matches against the state side who they would struggle to win but more likely loose = it shows the amount if talent the backups were knocking on the Australua team's door
If you wanna see what i mean see ODi Australia vs Australia A... how Australia A were a better side than the msin Australian team
They had a stacked team
Although it is heartache watching the Aussies demolish SA, I have to admit that, that Aussie team was truly a great team.
'Total Domination from ball 1'
'The Australian flags are flying high, and so they should be!'
...Those were the days! 😌
#BaggyGreenForever!
To McGrath, anyone can fight with you but no batsman can fight when you are bowling
Warne really great. He also won the 1st IPL as captain.
It was a great era for Australian cricket.
