      @@Forcefield23 sure, you can buy Vienna city pass via WienMobil app or shop.wienmobil.at/products and the supplement from ÖBB machines (17.10 euro 7days pass online + 1.90 euro from ÖBB machines or online via app ÖBB tickets or shop.oebbtickets.at/en/ )

    You paid 1,90 cause you already have a center pass. If I don’t have a center pass, I need to pay 1,90 and then pay 17,10 for a 3 day pass or weekly pass at that same machine, did I understand this correctly? Thank you

    • @romeorada
      @romeorada  2 года назад +2

      Yes, that is right. The supplement (1,90 euro ticket) is valid for the first 2 train stations (Bahnhof Flughafen Wien - Bahnhof Flughafen Wien - Schwechat Bahnhof). After Schwehat train station the city ticket is valid.
      I am not sure if you have the possibility to buy 3 days pass at the same machine, but for sure you can buy it from the app WienMobil or shop.wienerlinien.at/index.php/tickets (you have to create a free account first).
      There is also a ticket shop (not a machine) where you can ask - opposite the Spar supermarket

    From 21.09.2022 to 08.11.2022 the train S7 between train stations Flughafen and Schwehat will not be operated bacause of construction work (aviation.direct/wien-schienenersatzverkehr-auf-der-flughafenschnellbahn-s7).
    You can take the train REX7 to Praternstern or any other trains (RJX168) to Wien Hauptbahnhof

    The Vienna City pass for 7 or 31 days can be buoght here: shop.wienmobil.at/products/T7T31_VIE for 17,10 or 51,00 €
    7 days ticket has the same price as weekly or 72 hours tickets

    Great video! In Austria do I have to validate my train ticket like in other countries (eg. Italy and Germany) or I only have to print it?

    • @romeorada
      @romeorada  Год назад +1

      No, from the airport to Vienna using ÖBB machine. Also no, if you buy the tickets online (the valid date/time is already on the ticket). Is not necessary to print it because there is a QR code that can be scanned by the controllers (shop.oebbtickets.at/en/ticket?cref=oebb-header and/or shop.wienmobil.at/products). Both companies Wienerlinien (Vienna public transport) and ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) have also good apps for Android and iOS.
      If you buy a single ticket in Vienna from the Wienerlinien machines that are installed in every subway stations, yes, you have to validate it because there is no date/time in order to avoid to use it for multiple time.
      So: buy online/via app is not necessary to print or validate, but be sure you have enough battery on your mobile device to show your prove in case of control.

    could you tell me about this Vienna city ticket? what is it and what does it do besides lower the price for the train to the city from 4.20 euro to 1.80 euro? thank you

    • @romeorada
      @romeorada  2 года назад

      The price is now 1.90 (increased with 10 cents) if you have a valid city Vienna ticket www.wienerlinien.at/tickets (you can buy also in the app wienmobil).
      Otherwise is 4.30 euro - this include the supplement 1.90 euro + 2.40 euro the one way ticket in Vienna.
      The supplement (1.90 euro) is needed for: Airport(Bahnhof Flughafen Wien)-Mannswörth-Schwechat then the City ticket (2.40 euro or 24h/48h/72h/weekly/monthly/annual ticket) is valid in the S7 or other ÖBB train.
