The leader of The Furies was stuntman Jery Hewitt. Sadly he passed away in November suddenly. I recall seeing an interview where he mentioned he got the lead role because of his running ability, and fitness level. He had a lengthy career as a renowned stunt coordinator. His smile that added a great touch to this incredible, iconic scene never changed. God speed, and condolences to the Hewitt family.

I just noticed how well Swan led his guys. He told them when to pause to catch wind. He told Ajax to look. He tagged Snow when it was time to rev their engines again. He even called the flank with Snow because he figured Ajax could take on 2 guys until they circled back to sweep.

When I was in high school, my high school Drama teacher used to be an actress, albeit, probably an extra on the theatre circuit in New York, but, she was friends with some theatre actors and she invited them to come to our school to talk to us about Broadway, Off Broadway, and Off Off Broadway, and I remember this one actor, when asked what New York was like, said, there's nothing like NYC. He said in the summer, with the heat and humidity, and the tall buildings keeping everything boxed in, he said, the smell of garbage and dog poop was intoxicating. And that's why I never had any desire to live in NY even as a fantasy. Lot of people I went to high school with moved to NY or go to college, and then just stayed.

It kind of answered so many questions and thoughts I had on the movie and where they could've gone with the screenplay, whether a sequel (or even a Prequel) was possible. It absolutely was! Sol Yurick's novel turned out to be quite different from the finished script but even that was a good read.

Try to reconcile with him while you can. In the end you will be left with the regret of not having another chance to talk to him and not settling your issues with him. You don't have to forgive every, or any, of his actions in the past. But put it to the side and try to just get a relationship going again with him, for your own mental health. If he has truly done a terrible thing you cannot put to the side, then for your mental health you probably shouldn't even bother trying to make it work. Fuck that, I grew up having to accept an apology shortly after the incidents or he would go into a rage and then it would go on worse than before. So I accepted apologies I never should have had to accept, just so he would stop and calm down. So if his transgressions are that bad - fuck him. At least he turned you on to the warriors 😉

One of the slight little details that I really like while the Warriors are running is how Ajax keeps tapping Cowboy on the back to try and give him some encouragement to help keep him moving. He likely knows that Cowboy doesn't have the stamina the rest do, and he doesn't want him to fall behind. He also knows that Cowboy isn't so heavy in a fight like him, Swan, and Snow, hence why he'd be concerned about him not being able to keep up. It shows that while Ajax is a vulgar, confrontational asshole who's macho to a fault, he also cares for his fellow Warriors and has their back when it really counts.

Who would have ever known that almost after 40 years later that people would still talk about Ajax?! Though, it should not be a surprise, because, Ajax was willing to go down with his friend if that is how it had to be. For many people the core of their being get that.

I remember watching this on the big screen back in the late 70's... It actually made you believe that these colorful characters of gang folklore actually existed throughout NYC's 5.

Reasons why The Warriors would've done well in a Zombie Apocalypse...
      Rule #1: Cardio
The Warriors have got this covered....
      Rule #3: Beware of Bathrooms
I mean, they used the bathroom to their own advantage, so...
      Rule #18: Limber Up
Did I see some Warriors stretching on the train?
Rule #22: When in doubt, know your way out
I guess escaping the Lizzies qualifies?

"There's some guys with makeup on their faces, wearing baseball uniforms, with baseball bats, chasing some other guys in maroon vests down the street, and now their fighting."
    "Whats the address?"
    "RUclips."

Still the greatest scene in cinema. The Furies coming over the hill when they all look back.
It’s creepy and bad ass at the same time.
