  • SeamFil can repair nicks, fill seams and make gouges disappear with this one-part system. SeamFil bonds to the laminate and dries hard, becoming a permanent part of the laminate surface. SeamFil also resists moisture, detergents, and other household products as effectively as the original laminate. Typical applications for this product are filling standard joints, cracks, chips and other imperfections where the dark substrate is visible. Properly used, custom colored SeamFil will hide defects beautifully for the life of the counter. Purchase SeamFil at www.ColorKam.com

    Will this work to repair a hole in melamine? I just bought a house and noticed the previous owner replaced the single knobs on drawers with pulls, leaving a hole in each drawer where the knob was. This looks like a nice way to fix all those holes.

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Smasty, SeamFil could be a possible solution however I may recommend our other product WoodFil EPOXY. The reason for that is SeamFil can fill small holes but from the sounds of it that hole runs through the entirety of the drawer front. It would be challenging to build up the SeamFil to fill the gap. It also shrinks. WoodFil on the other hand does not shrink and is designed for this kind of application. Its an easy two use two part epoxy stick that will dry harder than the melamine and comes in white. You can purchase both products from our online retailer at www.americantechnologyinc.com. Also please feel free to call our customer service at 1-800-837-4971 and they can answer any further questions you may have.

    Perfect, but what about if the kitchen county is kind of combined in 2 colors, as sample light grey and dark pattern, how to fix it to give its natural look? I like your video, but I need more tips for different formica kitchen counters. Thanks

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent  3 года назад +4

      Hello and great question! Unfortunately SeamFil is a solid color so if there is a pattern in your countertop and a scratch or damage runs through multiple colors the repair will be more obvious. If you provide a sample to our facility and circle the color you want matched we can match that color however if there are multiple colors we will attempt to make a phantom color that most closely matches the combined colors. If you have further questions our customer service representative can be reached at 1-800-837-4971 and they would be happy to help. Have a great day!

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent  8 лет назад

      +Sapele Steve Thanks so much for the inquiry. Unfortunately we don not recommend using SeamFil to repair Corian. SeamFil relies on bonding to the wood substrate beneath laminate and what we have found is SeamFil will often not bond well with Corian. Sorry that we can provide more help! Have a great day.

      Take it from someone who just bought/used this product in the past week or so - it works. I spent $50 and got my custom color made along with the repair kit, and then applied it to the countertop. I'm not a DIYer. I just wanted to ensure I got my $1400 deposit back when I move next month. That wasn't going to happen with a hideous burn hole in the countertop. It's all fixed now - and some say miracles don't happen....

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent  7 лет назад +1

      Hello Sajid! Thanks so much for the question. Unfortunately SeamFil is unable to properly bond to cultured marble. It is designed to bond to the substrate of laminate material and lacks the adhesive properties necessary to adhere to marble. Please let us know if you have any further questions and good luck with your repair.

    I had a stain on my plastic laminate countertop so I used baking powder and a steel scouring pad. The damage is not noticeable on a closer inspection but from a distance during the day, the spots stand out because they don't shine like the other areas. Can this method be used to fix it?

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent  5 лет назад

      Hello and thank you so much for your question. For our product to work the substrate below the laminate needs to be showing. From the sounds of your description the scratches do not go through the laminate so our product unfortunately would not be able to adhere. I'm sorry that we cannot be more help and we wish you the best of luck with repairing your countertop! Please let us know if you have any further questions. Have a great day!

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent  10 лет назад

      Hi Jack,
      The easiest way to be certain you order the correct color is to check your local Lowes or Home Depot. They both typically have laminate samples in their K&B section that you can cross reference with your countertop. Once you feel you have the right color, simply call or place your order on line. Please feel free to contact info@kampelent.com if you have any other questions. We are always happy to help!

      Chip off a piece of your countertop (from a non-visible area) and send it to Kampel. They will figure out which custom color it is for you -and send you everything you need to do the repair - the color HAS to match - period. Take care of this detail and you won't regret it....

    How does one color match the Seamfil?
    My counter top seems to be a mix of a very dark green/ black tiny speckled color.

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent  4 года назад +1

      Hello! Thanks so much for the question. The best way to match your countertop is to first figure out what your laminate make and color is. Once you have that information you can visit our website and see if your countertop is one that we have a color match for. To do that go to the "Special's" list and through the drop down options you can see. If it is not on that list we can custom match any color, however keep in mind that SeamFil is a solid color so it will not have the tiny black speckled colors you mentioned. If you have any further questions feel free to reach out to our customer service reps at 1-800-837-4971. You can also watch this video that explains our color matching process: ruclips.net/video/Mkw1kbVyTIM/видео.html.

    is there a difference between the sf99 to the regular solvent?

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent  3 года назад +1

      Hello Trini. SF99 is specifically formulated to work with SeamFil and not cause damage to laminate countertops. When you say regular solvent are you referring to something you could buy at a store? If so depending on the formulation of the solvent it can cause crazing and damage your laminate. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask or you can call our customer service representative at 1-800-837-4971.

    will this work for a burnt countertop?

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent  7 лет назад

      Hello Glory! We hope you are having a great day so far. To answer your question it depends on the size of the burn mark. If it is a small burn less than 1/4 inch SeamFil may work for you. If it's a larger burn lets say from a pan that is larger than 1/4 inch our products unfortunately will not be the correct fix for your counter top. If you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask! Thanks for your question!

      hab1b1 Thanks for the question. Unfortunately it looks like the burn is to large to use SeamFil for the repair. It sounds like the scratches are only on the surface of the laminate. Scratches like these tend to be harder to deal with as they are not deep enough for SeamFil which bonds to the substrate beneath the laminate. If the scratches are deep enough to see the wood beneath them SeamFil could be a good option to try. If you have any further questions feel free to reach out to our customer service representative at 1-800-837-4971. Thanks so much and have a great day!

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent  9 лет назад

      Hello Petra,
      Thanks for the inquiry. Unfortunately SeamFil is designed to repair Laminate and not Vinyl as it's possible that the chemicals in the SeamFil may cause damage to the Vinyl. Also since SeamFil is a flammable product we have not yet discovered how to quickly and easily ship it outside of the U.S. (hopefully this will happen eventually!) I'm sorry to say that I think you may have to look for another repair product in your area. Best of luck and sorry we could not help you out more.

    • @Kampelent
      @Kampelent  3 года назад

      Thanks for the great question. There are a couple different approaches to find out what the color of your countertop is. If you know who installed our countertop you can ask them what the color is, if that is not possible if you have an extra piece of your laminate laying around you can send it to us and we can custom match it. You could also go to your local home depot or lowes and look for a similar color there. They often have samples of laminates and you can find one that matches. If you have any further questions we would be happy to answer them. Just call our customer service representative at 1 (800) 837-4971. Our hours are Mon-Friday 8:00-3:00 EST. Have a great day!

      It's not a belief or a faith thing, it works or it doesn't. works for the uploader. I'd think a lint free rag my prove better or at least as good anyway, without risk of residue, but again, it worked fine for the uploader (577666). I have a very old red diner style kitchen table that went through a pretty serious accident on the road where it ended up severely scratched. without an hd or lowe's type store anywhere nearby, I'll maybe need to take my chance with an online source as you mentioned a few, or maybe that was another video I watched.
