You know what I love about this group? Is that not only are they a great band and great musicians, but that they are great role models. They’re not on drugs, they’re not drunks, they don’t party everyday and not trashing everything. Instead, they go hiking, explore and enjoy nature, and just spend quality time playing music. You couldn’t say that about most rock bands
David L. Well let’s not be negative about this. They’re good kids, grew up with loving and supportive parents. Seems like they’re hearts are in the right place. I have faith they will still that way.
It's really fun to find your favorite albums and show em to each other, like kids in a candy shop. Even if you're not really into whatever they find, seeing people stoked is great. Hell, you don't even need friends, people in music stores have been really chill and outgoing in my experience.
true. i almost busted a gut when i found aftermath by the rolling stones at my local record store and this chick was like 'congrats, man!' and was totally genuine about it and we ended up talking about it for a long time ha
There's never enough mate. Just trying to listen to the Top 50 on Spotify inspires me to really go out of my way to listen to new music every day, just looking for that next chune
thank you Kevin.I'm glad someone said this.they are truly a GREAT rock & roll band...I've seen them 4 times & I'm a 45 year old "Stuck in the 60's & 70's music guy"(at least according to a millenial..lol). These guys are a REAL group of kids who truly love rock music & play it insanely good.I could possibly see them as a band to open the door to put rock music back on the radio & music charts...
That's what I mean with 'real music'. Most kids these days just _like_ music of the popular kind (auto-tuned disposable pop music), especially when they are the age of the Greta Van Fleet guys. So it is refreshing when you hear these guys talk about craftsmanship music in a world where most others are giving 123 million plays to a horrible 'artist' by the name "Lil' Peep".
I'm not trying to sound like one of those "I wAs BoRn iN tHe wRoNg GeNeRaTIon!!1!" kids, but Im 14 and my favourite kind of music is definitely the old stuff like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Abba, Cream, Black Sabbath, Cat Stevens, Buddy Holly ect.. I can't stand the auto tuned rubbish that comes out now. i guess what I'm trying to say is there are still some kids who like good music :)
Always nice to get another video of these guys. As much as I love their interviews, they usually talk about the same thing due to being asked similar questions, so it’s nice to see them having fun and showing their passion for music.
A breathe of fresh air with these young cats...classic rock with their modern day views...pretty solid lyrics and the guitarist and drummer seem to keep getting better and better! Lead singer is already legit as fuck! Always have their music on repeat!
When listening to Greta Van Fleet's music, the word "nostalgic" comes to mind. Great chemistry between band members, they are very cultured, especially for people of my generation.
When Sam asks "What's the song stuck in your head first thing eaking up from a comfy sleep?" My answer is GVF! lol. No joke for the passed 2 weeks straight 💗💗
Very nice! Wish I was nearby and could visit this store - love a good vinyl creation... There are no substitutes for true analog vinyl - Jeff Beck, Muddy Waters, Rod Stewart and the Small Faces... I could go on and on... Nice choices Danny and Sam...
I miss all the vinyl stores Sydney used to have - my sister and I would go to a great place that specialised in repressed 45s of 50s and 60s stuff. There was a great place in the city you could spend all day in. There is nothing better than flipping through vinyl. Glad I kept all of mine.
Som's records is a really unique place in D.C. From the underground entrance to the wide variety of options of records. It is not a record store for everyone since their collection is mainly jazz, blues, and underground, but it is a must visit place in DC
I'm 13 and I collect vinyls, I have: Michael Jackson got to be there Michael Jackson Ben Styx the grand illusion Styx pieces of the eight Styx paradise theater The doors greatest hits Steve Miller band book of dreams Jefferson Starship Red octopus and the debut titled album of Boston! I also have from the fires of GVF, and I'm going to buy there new album
Bat, From the fires will be on vinyl on record store day dude!! ✌🤘 Also, a little advice, about the Doors greatest hits... don't ever buy greatest hits on vinyl man. It's a rookie mistake. You have to get the full albums.
Somebody tell them that they are millinials, they should be playing fortnite and wasting their time in Facebook; not making gritty rock, and enjoying great music, they are like from another Era , love em
Cool i respect your opinion!, but all bands steal something from another band; the bands that i have been is always sprinkled with other influences, i dont consider ít a ripoff ( even Metallica sound like Budgie, Black Sabbath, Diamond head etc) ; even Zeppelin stole a lot of riffs from other artist; lets see if they sue GvF. In other hand there are a lot of bands that i love that sound similar to other bands; but if i like them, well i like them. In this case , i love that this guys GVF, the Struts ( clearly influenced by Queen) and Rival sons; for this generation and for older people ( like me) there a breath of fresh air of the modern music heard in radio; i support them
🥺 :( I wish I had friends to go to the shop. One time I actually dragged my friends to some random shop I found in the city. They actually recommended some artists and they were great! Danny and Sam or Jake SORRY, have great taste!
Word dude. You gotta introduce your future children to these guys, the Doors, Creedence, Beatles definitely, Bad Company, Cage the Elephant, the Black Keys, etc. Etc.
What a dreadful band, only where they are cos mammy and daddy paid for their management when they were about 14. There are so many better, and more interesting, new bands out there than this one (and ones that people my age are actually listening to, to boot).
@@danielandrew4035 The Lemon Twigs, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Ty Segall, White Fence, Wand, The Murlocs, Hockey Dad, The Babe Rainbow, Kevin Morby, Ryley Walker just to name a few...
I love how everybody around Bay City say that. WTF? Their management is key (William Morris Endeavor), but their parents are not rich. Maybe their grandma is loaded. Anyway, the Lemmon Twigs rock!
You’re a pretentious dick. The bands named here are literally based off of not trying to get famous. You can’t compare these guys to fuzz-rock bands who do shit like piss on their records for the art effect

Give it time
They have 100% done psychedelics and smoke weed often, just look at them and their music and theme, they are hardcore hippies.
@@likbezlik well better then rapping about coke deals and shootings

Anna Robinson = Stupid Girl
(2nd song on Side 1)
yes, I'm aware that's a song
I listen to A LOT of music, but I clearly need to listen to more.

right! it’s like the more u listen to the more u realize how little listening u have actually done.
Sammy and Danny are underrated
Kevin Shaffe Danny Wagner is amazing. he's got that bonham sound that so many modern drummers don't have

Lamborghini Diablo SV 5150 Definitely! He’s a talented heavy-hitter
Kevin Shaffe yeah i love that sound
This interview just gives me more respect for the members of Greta Van Fleet.
I love these guys, so passionate about real music. So rare these days, unfortunately.
MichelleR. There’s a ton of people passionate about music today, just the wrong kind of music.

GVF need to cover the song “Come Together”
Hmm. Yeah that could be good. Why that song in particular though?...just curious👍
4:54 is their Black Smoke Rising EP in the top right of the screen
It looks like it
I just love their authenticity and passion.

Great band rock is back thank you
I can relate on how socially awkward they are 😂🙏
GVF have such old souls! They could definitely hang with my pops listening to great blues, jazz and r&b! Long live vinyl!!

Are you single
Cause if you like music nerds I'm your guy
Tyler Paris unfortunately for you she dont give a shit
Tyler Paris You're more thirsty than a gypsy in the Sahara.
I could actually watch a 24h long video of them just browsing through vinyls
3:06-3:24 hit me hard.
I agree which makes me hate new artists even more since there is barely any soul in music and all they care about is fame and money
I feel like I just stepped back in time to the 70's watching this
These guys give me so much hope for the future of music.
I love their little singer with huge voice!
Cool store; these two are a blast from the past - reminds me of myself at the GoodWill:)
I’ve been to this store so many times!

Nice choices Danny and Sam...
I noticed Heart's Little Queen in there which they overlooked - a great album from 1977 - maybe a little to recent for them ;)
I was at the show at The Anthem!! Was amazing.
I love these guys so much please come back to Michigan soon
From all the interviews I have watched, I got the impression that these boys feel a little alienated by the shallowness of the modern world.
modern world is shit
i mean they aren't alone in that sentiment
Well sam the bassist is a big fan of justin bieber, so...
Cringe

Good to see that the guys are not covered in INK !
Just when I couldn’t be more proud of these guys.... you know, they have brains. Rifling through old vinyl. Love it!
I'm very very familiar with much of the music they found because I'm now 66 years old an still rocking!

Did they buy all the vinyls that they like??
LP's! LP's! Nobody ever called them "vinyls"; "Vinyl" is plural and singular. People called them "LP's"
Good to know!!! I even did not know what vinyl or LP's were, until I watched this video.
