Hope your ok. You have been through alot!!! I was diagnosed with IIH 2007. was on acetazolamide 250mg 2 times a day(lowest dose) for 2 years. Got pregnant with twins came off them cause they are dangerous for babies. Went into remission for 12 years with small flare ups. Hit me again bad May 2021. Back on Diamox 2000mg a day. Vision dodgey but to be honest it just comes with the territory. It's freaky and scary and the panic and anxiety with it is crazy. I've constant whooshing in my right ear. I can relate to an extent as I haven't had surgery but the headaches, fatigue, anxiety, vision problems yes. Hope you doing alot better thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. Aw I’m so sorry to hear that you struggle with it too. It’s awful & I wouldn’t wish it on anybody. My VP shunt has helped with the pressure. But unfortunately my optic nerves have been permanently damaged, so I’m learning to live with a vision impairment. Acetazolamide didn’t agree with me at all so I’m on topirimate, which seems to work ok and helps with the headaches alongside the VP shunt! I’m glad you got remission for such a long time, but I’m so sorry it came back 🥺 fingers crossed you can get it under control again! It sucks everything out of you! Best wishes ❤️❤️
Hi there! I also have IIH/pseudo tumor cerebri, I was diagnosed January 2015 and had my first brain surgery to place my vp shunt April 2015. I also had to have two due to wrong placement however I had mine a day apart. I have now had 7 surgeries regarding revisions.The tubing in my stomach I had trimmed down and eventually they placed a different tubing that my body has no issues with. Hang in there hun, It does get better

Oh bless you. I feel your pain being the sufferer of a rare no cure neurological condition which came on overnight and 4 weeks in hospital like yourself. It takes time to get over and learn to pace yourself. I'm left with a few problems but with time you find a way through. Carry on being as strong as you can. Sending hugs ((🧡))

Omg Chloe sweetie u have been through so much I know you must be feeling so overwhelmed get better and take care of yourself . I had been thinking of you hopefully when they get all the right meds for you and tweak them you will be able to keep it under control and slowly start doing things like eBay that you enjoy doing keep the positive attitude and you will figure it out as far as sourcing I think like u say just look online till you go out with your man or a friend and when kids go back to school just look after yourself big hugs xx.

Yeah... very unfortunate. Feel sorry for you, and I hope your health is going to improve soon.
As for the sourcing, it looks like you'll have to source in bulk and online. With the home delivery. It's not that bad way to do it, to be honest.
So this is the Shunt? They're now doing Stents. I have IIH and they're talking about possibly doing a stent I'm told the shunt is definitely a worse procedure I'm sorry you had to go through that! This condition is just awful! I hope you're doing better these day's. Have you noticed for you anything that you feel is connected to this condition? Like do you feel better with certain vitamins/minerals? To name a few things that has helped me & 1 of my friends with this condition is b12, turmeric, berberine, vitamin e works for her but made me worse!... and magnesium preferably sulfate because this is the one they did a study on that they did a study on that they proved helped repair nerves and its water soluble. Anyways again, I wish you the best!

My story is very similar to yours. Especially about having covid on arrival to the hospital. It was such a nightmare.

My wife has Ben suffering from IIH, she is currently on dilauded for pain and it doesn’t work. She is losing her vision as well.
I’m so sorry to hear this. If things aren’t working, keep telling her doctor! Don’t just accept it. I hope things get better for her
Rather than jumping back onto EBay right now could you claim benefits? ESA, PIP ? They are there to support you over a difficult period like this and would give you time to recover and adapt. I know not everyone qualifies or wants to claim but it’s just a thought.
