  • Here's a clip of 1950's rockabilly duo The Collins Kids doing the Hank Williams classic "Kaw-Liga". It's from an apperance on Tex Ritters Ranch Party TV show. The kids were Lawrencine "Lorrie" Collins (born 5/7/42) and her younger brother Lawrence "Larry" Collins (born 10/4/44). Lorrrie was Rick Nelson's first steady girlfriend and Larry went on to become a songwriter including hits like "Delta Dawn" & "Your The Reason God Made Oklahoma".

Larry Collins was a virtuoso guitar player by the time he was 10 years old. His older sister, Lorrie and he were appearing on television shows starting in 1957.
The song Kaw-Liga was written by Hank Williams. I hope you know enough to respect his name and his music history.
Far from being “embarrassing,” the Collins Kids were groundbreakers in Rockabilly music. It’s a shame that, because you don’t like Kaw-Liga, or you don’t like them, or maybe you don’t like country music of any kind, you couldn’t resist saying something nasty about people you know nothing about. Now that’s embarrassing. Hopefully you’ve gained some wisdom after you planted your foot in your mouth.
