They're all very talented but Patsy Cline? She's on a whole other level. No one can sing like her. Probably the best vocalist in country, folk, rock, pop, soul, R&B, even opera. The way she puts soooo much feeling in her voice. Here and there a slight cry, slight yodel, slight pause, all perfectly timed. No one can duplicate that.

      "...even opera..."
Uh, look, I love Patsy Cline, too, but the demands that opera places upon singers is absolutely unreal. Add to that the requirement for being in costume (sometimes extremely elaborate with period stays, corsets, etc.) and acting and being on the stage for hours.

My brother and I drove from West Virginia to visit her grave. Her voice had a ringing quality that I've never heard in any white singer. Just lovely. Unique in the true meaning of unique.
Plane crash: Piper Comanche, N7000P. Patsy Cline, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Cowboy Copas, Randy Hughes. Hughes was Patsy's manager and the pilot. Not instrument-rated. He was concerned about the weather and stopped to call his wife, who told him the sun was shining in Nashville, so he pressed on in the face of bad weather. Without instrument competency, he lost control in the clouds and crashed, killing everyone.

Her facial expressions and purity of raw feelings are beyond belief! Her early departure from this life was tragic but we must thank God for the time she did have to touch us all and to leave a mark on country musics, a high mark that very few have ever come close to reach. No matter what song Patsy sings, you can feel the depth of character in how she sings it. She was a real vocal artist. She's my favorite singer. Also, there is some attractive quality in Patsy herself.. someone who would be nice to hang out with.

A PURE CRYSTAL harmonious voice with the guitars & violins in the background , that is what I truely consider, the genuine Country-Folk songs & music coming from the USA. JOhnny Cash in the 1957 singing the this version of I WALK THE LINE, a heavenly delight. Thanks. jpier.

They must have rehearsed many hours to present such a good show. All the music, vocal and instrumental, is top notch. The costumes are beautiful. The simple sets let the talent shine through, even if budget was a consideration.
There was not a single mention or sign of a sponsor, at a time when sponsors plastered their names all over. I guess the show was bought by individual stations rather than broadcast by a network.
Imagine so much talent in the same place and time!

Patsy Cline was considered to be the best over all singer in country music, as far as pure skill and technique is concerned, and that is still true to this day. Not saying she is everyone's favorite, everyone has their own favorite songs. I am just saying what many music teachers and musicians have said, about her skill level and technique.
