07:40 Again, something a lot of people get wrong. You don't eat the skin of the white sausage. You cut the skin on one side, and then pull the skin off. It's simply because the skin is sheep. To be more precise, the intestines of sheep and they are very thick and not easy to chew.
Schneider Weisse most popular? Thats 100% not true. Wheat Beer (Weißbier) -> In Munich the most popular wheat beers are Franziskaner followed by Erdinger. After then there might be Paulaner and Augustiner wheat beer. Schneider Weisse is not even close. Thats what a grandma buys because its 10 cents cheaper or something. Normal Beer (Helles) -> Augustiner is the most popular normal beer. And a lot of younger people drink Tegernseer too which is not even from Munich. Then there is a gap and then all the other Munich breweries come. Dark Beer (Dunkles) -> I would say Andechser is the most popular dark beer or maybe Paulaner, since they host the biggest strong beer festival in spring. Andechser is really good in my opinion and the Andechs monastery from where it is is a great destination for a daytrip. Its 30km outside of Munich overlooking the Ammersee (lake). Radler -> The most popular Radler might be the one from Hacker-Pschorr. I dont drink alcohol anymore but im born and raised in Munich and lived almost my whole life there. So i know. You see restaurants have exclusive contracts with breweries so they get the beer cheaper. It depends where you go but you will only see one brewery on the menu. This doesnt mean its the most popular :-).
Hofbräuhaus is horrible!!!! Locals dont go there!!! there are tons of better places: Hofbräukeller am Wiener Platz, Andechser am Dom, Bratwurstglöckl, Wirtshaus in der Au, Emmeramsmühle, Waldwirtschaft, Schlosswirtschaft Thalkirchen to name a few.
Or Menterschwaige... And lots of places that probably don't officially qualify as beer garden but are great places to have a beer outside like the gastropub at Isartalbahnhof Großhesselohe or Preysinggarten in Haidhausen...
Great video! Detailed yet easy to understand!
Thanks 🤗
