I had something horrible happen in my life recently and I'm just trying to deal, I thought to myself, I should watch some Justin. As soon as I saw your face and heard your voice I cracked a little smile. It makes me happy to see you eating too, I'm one of those ladies who's always trying to feed everyone all the time =) Take care JS we love you.
I will be sad when these Route 66 videos are over! You are so knowledgeable about the facts/history of Route 66 and present it so well. It's awesome to hear you talk about everything with such passion. I was born in the late 70s so I appreciate a lot of your jokes and references.. I love Back to the future too!
Yes, most people today have know idea how hard the life of a cowboy was. Even today its pretty labor intensive. Back in my younger days, I'm 56 now, I worked summers on a ranch. Mostly fixing fence and riding herd, on a horse... And even today many cowboys/ranch hands carry a rifle when they go out onto the range.
I was just watching a few episodes of Huell Howser on KCET, and Justin--I realized that you could honestly be a 2017 version of him. You have the same level of enthusiasm about going to random places and meeting interesting people. Randomland....the 2010s reboot of California's Gold!
I often watched Huell Howser while visiting my parents in California (couldn't get him in Michigan), and when I discovered Justin Scarred, I found him to have many similarities to Huell. Justin doesn't do as many actual interviews as Howser, but both of them have an exquisite wonderment about everything they see, and are eager to share their findings with viewers. My late parents were big fans of Huell, and I wish I could introduce them to Justin. They'd LOVE him!
This used to be called the cowboy hall of fame but the last time was there it no where near as big. Major renovations and additions it would seem. I must go back now! I live about 100 miles west of OKC just south of Route 66.
The hotel Cheyenne at Disneyland Paris is themed around a western town and the rooms are in the separate buildings, you can stay in the bank building or the saloon
living in Oklahoma the oil well is still used but only when the price of oil goes high enough to make a profit. also the cowboy hall of fame surprised me when I visited the first time. like you video blogs.
Looks like you missed the oldest School House in Oklahoma which was in Edmond. Tons of history where you are going thru. They also have a huge statue of Shannon Miller, the gold gymnast, that is in Edmond.
Paper boy was the 80's (not the 90's)...lol....I Was thinking about doing the 2000 mile Route 66 tour, but you did such a good job documenting your travels that it might not be necessary now.....Maybe I will just order some souvenirs from a few of the different states and call it a day.................
They did do a remake called "Super Paperboy", though. Of course, the original game already had a sequel "Paperboy 2", so "Super" was more or less a reboot of the 8-bit classic on 16-bit hardware.
Another great Route 66 ( only 8 mentions, lowest so far ) episode, can't think of anyone else on here that puts so much effort and research into their road trips, keep up the good work fella,
i was just in the chorus i played a student but it was still so much fun but i'd love to see it and i'm from canada but PEI is like a 18 hour drive from my place not including stops and traffic and stuff.
I'm from USA although right now I would wish that weren't true. It has been a dream of mine for many years to visit Canada, especially PEI. Someday I will make it there! Well, as long as Canada will still let us visit (although I wouldn't blame any country for barring US citizens at this point).
Anne (with an E) of Green Gables is Prince Edward Island's equivalency of Sweden's Pippi Longstocking (or rather, Pippi Langstump) minus Pippilotta's insane super-strength.
The words Buckaroo and Buccaneer have a similar origin interestingly-both having to do with cattle. Buccaneers were originally like island cowboys or maybe more specifically island cattle hunters... and of course the term later became associated with pirates.
that was fun! My husband and I moved to that area as newlyweds and raised our family there. Wonderful place to live! We no longer live there but it will always be home!! BOOMER SOONERS!!
Hey man, love your videos. This one tripped me out though. I grew up in Vegas and my parents took me to disneyland all the time so I naturally liked your videos. With that said, almost a year ago my girlfriend and I moved to Edmond to go to graduate school. I live on that street in Edmond and to have been to all the places you show in this video and to see that in your videos is a trip. Trust me though, living in the old OK state is not fun, especially to someone from the left side of the map.
If we send a rodeo champ back in time to the old west, I imagine it would be a lot like bttf3. "Doc are you sure this is authentic?" "Sure! Haven't you seen the movies?"
Yes, got the "pew, pew" comment on earlier as well. Aw, someone else noticed Napoleon talon comment. Was expecting Ally to jump out on that "Oooooooooollldd West" line...Nice bronze statues in town...perhaps showing kids what they did before video?
I got the pew pew joke from the the last video, for the record - thought it was pretty witty! thanks for the videos - and thanks for keeping them clean - my 6 year old loves watching. We don't watch the Waltons, we sit around and watch Justin Scarred lol. When she does her reading homework, if she comes across the word "old" in any context, she'll say "ooooooooooooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllldddddddddddddddddddddddddd"! She will also see large things out and about and say "would you look at the size of this?" lol - tell Ally we miss her and Mika!
Hey Justin that oil well is the old Wild Mary. They do still get oil from it. I live over a vein of the wild mary and own the rights to it. I get a check of about 60.00 a year in oil rights.
Justin, you MUST stop at POPS Restaurant! It's a more recent addition to Route 66, about 8 miles northeast of Edmond, and they have soady pops from all over the country! In front is a garrrrrr-gantuan pop bottle made of light rings, which is spectacular at night. The food's good too. I'd bet that they have some gluten-free offerings as well. Just down the road from there is the Round Barn, another Route 66 curiosity. And yes, it IS round! Very cool experience! Keep up the excellent work!
Are those pearl snaps on a plaid shirt?? LOL reminds me of my dad and Uncle back when Good Days, good thoughts :D Would love to see ya in a Hawaiian shirt.
If you want to get into miniature modeling you have one of the best hobby shops in California in Garden Grove. Brookhurst Hobbies, just south of Champman on the eastern side of Brookhurst. Check it out!
Oh no, I got the "pew" joke right off the bat. The bank one was pretty good also. Keep them coming. Also watch the weather out there, it can change at the drop of a hat. Slight pun intended, but it can get wicked real fast. My family has friends who ranch out there. They've been in a few harsh storms so be careful.
I wondered where they all went to after Winnie the Pooh took their spot in DL (they still remain at WDW, however, as Pooh took over Toad Hall [Mr. Toad's Wild Ride] instead).
Your voices and stories really bring things together. Love it
Love Justin doing the old time voice....Sarsssaparilla!!! lol Thumb's up 👍
I'm loving all your road trip videos Justin!
I had something horrible happen in my life recently and I'm just trying to deal, I thought to myself, I should watch some Justin. Wow! I haven't seen anyone document that place! Awesome find!!!!
Wow, that indoor cowboy town was awesome.
Oklahoma has some pretty cool spots to stop and go through/absorb.
The "pew-pew-pew" joke on the other video made me facepalm, but I didn't comment.
Also, dat Napoleon Dynamite reference.
I could buy Ann a new dress with puff sleeves! Lol! Thanks for sharing justin. That was cthe coolest place ever!

That western town is always something I recommend people seeing! Best thing there although there are some legendary graves out back as well!
Dude your awesome. I can't believe how much information you give on the locations. Plus you make me laugh. Keep up the good work.
Also - really enjoying the drone shots!! Also the editing is fun too - good job!

Justin is amazin! =)
Glad you enjoyed my hometown of Edmond! Wish I could have met you and suggested more places to go. Safe travels!
That is one awesome Cowboy Museum. Thanks so much for sharing.
This used to be called the cowboy hall of fame but the last time was there it no where near as big. Major renovations and additions it would seem. I must go back now! I live about 100 miles west of OKC just south of Route 66.
If I ever make it to Oklahoma I will need to check out that cowboy museum!
So glad you went to the cowboy museum! It's one of my favorites!
Totally got the 'pew' joke! Was funny both times, actually :)
Thanks for the fun and safe travels!
Another awesome day on ollllllllllllldddddd Route 66 . Great job Justin!
The hotel Cheyenne at Disneyland Paris is themed around a western town and the rooms are in the separate buildings, you can stay in the bank building or the saloon
Dagnabbit! You're making me jealouser and jealouser with every Route 66 episode. Awesome (in the truest sense of the word) ending.
Fantastic video! I might need to build that hotel you were talking about! also, love the outro!
I LOVED the Anne of green gables reference Justin!! 😊
Your last Video you stopped in Geary, that's where my Grandparents live. Thanks for letting me see what it looks like I have never been there!!!!
living in Oklahoma the oil well is still used but only when the price of oil goes high enough to make a profit. also the cowboy hall of fame surprised me when I visited the first time. like you video blogs.

Loving this road trip.
This is my most favorite video yet, Justin! Awesome! Thanks for this one!

Good job on this trip. You can rent "Prosperity Junction" event space for about $1800. Cheaper then some of the Disney Suites. Stay healthy....
The OoooooOOOoooooOoold West! haha, everytime.
Thanks for the Anne of Green Gables reference - I've always loved those books and movies! Keep the adventures coming! Safe travels!
dragongrl07 love the books and movies too, I did the musical when I was in high schools a long time ago
wanupgurl That show is on my theatre bucket list - even just seeing it (although I would love to be in it)!
i was just in the chorus i played a student but it was still so much fun but i'd love to see it and i'm from canada but PEI is like a 18 hour drive from my place not including stops and traffic and stuff.

The heat humidity storms is called summer time in the Midwest
The words Buckaroo and Buccaneer have a similar origin interestingly-both having to do with cattle. Buccaneers were originally like island cowboys or maybe more specifically island cattle hunters... and of course the term later became associated with pirates.
If you ever get a chance when you're in Oklahoma again, Try stopping by Robbers Cave, good place to stretch the legs and get a view of the landscape.
Cool video Justin. Safe travels!
We have a saying here in Oklahoma, if you don't like the weather in Oklahoma, give it a minute, it'll change.
You are so funny! Thanks for another great video.
There use to be and might still be a place called Dry Gulch in southern Oklahoma. We use to go there once a year. Very cool old west town.
Nevermind. Looks like its a summer camp now :(
Jennifer McCall what camp
Uh I'm not sure
Welcome to OKC! My home city!
haha. Ally wasn't there to cover your mouth when you say, "the Oooooooold West." Loved the video.

Great Video, spending half a day making a brass of yourself in Edmond

Without video games we wouldn't know how to say, "All your base are belong to us."
Go to the train in Tulsa, OK.
If you want to get into miniature modeling you have one of the best hobby shops in California in Garden Grove. Brookhurst Hobbies, just south of Champman on the eastern side of Brookhurst. Check it out!

Woo new upload!!
Too bad you missed Frontier City in OKC. They have some of the animatronics from Disneyland's Country Bear Jamboree
I wondered where they all went to after Winnie the Pooh took their spot in DL (they still remain at WDW, however, as Pooh took over Toad Hall [Mr. Toad's Wild Ride] instead).
Liberace's cowboy outfit is where? Adam the Woo learned the McGuffey way.
i like the duck branding iron as long as they don't brand the ducks. also cows are females so it should be cowgirls and bullboys.
Darth Humpty.. he's more machine now than shell.
Justin, you would like Westworld... If it was more like a Disney park and there was no killing n stuff...
Cowboy Up!
Your diet seems to be helping your skin! Maybe we should all follow that diet. I will study it. Thanks for the great work you do.
