gotta mention this, but yeah since it's toaplan, and since they are the people who made Batsugan, you can really see how the donpachi series came to be. heck I can see it here.
another cool play by Sensei SCHLAUCHI! one question, tho: which emulator was used for this LP, cause I try to lad it on MAME and it won't run, saying the ROM just won't work! I have the Sega MD/Genesis version, but would like to add the original (this one) to my arcade collection...unless an emulator other than MAME was used, in which case, I guess it won't happen. keep up the great LP's, Team Cubex/Longplays!
Actually not, a lot of shmups by Toaplan prior this were made, Hellfire, Truxton, Twin Cobra, Zero Wing, including their final Shmup, Batsugun witch pioneered danmaku games from that point.
cool game but you didn't use any bombs and didn't die once in some of the most insane barrage of bullets c'mon if you that good i wanna see you play ikaruga arcade or dreamcast
I love games like these especially when you're able to control your ships weapons. I love how you can change the angle of the shots.
0:15 Stage 1 (Ruins)
2:46 Stage 2 (Sky)
6:48 Stage 3 (Desert)
12:09 Stage 4 (City)
17:05 Stage 5 (Base/Organic)
21:43 Final Stage (Space)
27:38 Loop 2 Stage 1
30:13 Loop 2 Stage 2
34:13 Loop 2 Stage 3
39:34 Loop 2 Stage 4
44:25 Loop 2 Stage 5
48:45 Loop 2 Final Stage
54:35 Ending
Especially on loop 2, I can easily see the origins of many stock bullet hell attacks in this game.
Damn bro, that’s some insane horizontal movement!

Holy Bullet Hell, Batman! Especially around minute 31:00
Awesome dodging skills. Some real tight squeezes there :-)

Holy laser beams in outer space Batman!
I always loved the laser beans

Intense. Superb playing.
Still have my Genesis copy of Grind Stormer.
Seems like this game is using an unusual weapon system.
The graphics are nice.
Most impressive!
The 2nd TOAPLAN shmup?!

@@adhitamaprasetya4220 how about snow bros. 2: with new elves?
@@janmanuel4273 that was their final game period but Batsugun was their last shooter.
You need to make it clearer that these are tool-assisted dude...
