It's so cool that this cover exists, because the very first time I heard "The Kids are Coming" the trumpet sounds immediately reminded me of Outkast. That entire album is fire.

You're such a beautiful young lady and I just can't get enough of your music. And I know this might sound a little morbid but, every time I listen to dance monkey I pick up my husband's urn and I dance with him because he would always randomly grab my hand and dance and he would have loved to dance monkey. He passed away 17 months ago in a really bad car accident so dance monkey is about the only song that I can dance with my husband's urn.

So I'm 51 years old, can sing but never persued it. Life long viewer of every singing competition show out there whether Xfactor,, The Voice etc. They all teach conventional Orthodox singing styles. Then here comes this girl and takes all these notes, sounds, melodies, and bends the living you know what out of them, scrambles every Orthodox singing rule there is and makes the most beautiful melodic omlets I've ever heard. She just turned conventional singing upside down and made it totally cool to sing this way. What she did with this song considering what it normally sounds like is straight genius!! This girl is just getting started too. Love her.

@@chanelwade9552 , Well back in the day , mostly did covers , Eagles , Doobies, George Thorogood , Bob Segar , But when i formed my own Band called ( Lonely town ) we performed original songs mostly , you would call the Genre probably country rock . We were based on the Gold Coast , received reasonable radio airplay , also played in several battle of the bands , Yamaha rock 90 awards , Playroom gold coast , won our heat etc , performed in both QLD , and NSW for around 25 years or so , but enough of me , with all this Covid deal the usual venues where i live like Splenda ,Byron Blues festival , and Falls festival , are all cancelled so it must be difficult right now for artists like her to gain exposure , feel real sad for young artists in these troubled times , anyway thanks for your question , cheers .
So glad you said this, in another place s/one else said she didn't have any talent (he'd done 3 covers) and I think he missed the point! Technically she may not be brilliant (I'm no judge OR expert) but she knows how to make others feel what she communicates, she reminds you of your vulnerabilities and so you become more 'compassionate' maybe. I'm 66 and I get tears when I listen to her song.
