I absolutely love the idea of putting your milsbo wide under the TV. Now whenever ads start, you can just watch the cabinet. Although it may be more difficult to pay attention to a movie instead of plants. Also it's insane to see how well your plants are doing. I had peperomia hope and begonia amphioxus before you and while yours are huge and thriving, mine are dead 😅
Yes, I can't wait for the plant tour in your new house. It's so exciting to see snippets of it in every video. I'm so happy for you and I can feel the fresh and happy energy through the screen.
I really needed a Fern video today! Had to take my cat to urgent care and pay $1000 up front (easy choice but money is tight) amongst several other stressors. Your videos and aura is so calming and helps me calm down and manage my stress better :) You are an absolute beam of sunshine 💗
Oh I’m so sorry about your cat, I hope they are going to be okay 🥺 vet bills are extremely stressful, especially when they’re unexpected. Sending you all of the calm and comforting vibes 🫶
For the polyneura, scrub the node lightly with a toothbrush under running water. If there are broad/flat mites, that'll knock them off. I had like 6 that wouldn't grow until I did that and now I have runners and leaves!
I’m coming to testify to the pure witchcraft that is keiki paste. Every single plant I used it on has been successful and the Hoya respond like it’s their job 😂 Obvi eliminate pests first but I’m now a believer in the paste!
I love Harry's razors. I've used them for about three years now and they are the best. I also, love the shave butter (cream). I love them more than my husband does. Your cabinet looks so good. It is probably drying out from the sun and heat. I find mine has dried out a lot faster this summer then it has in the past. It is so hot in Florida right now and my cabinets are in a sunroom with lots of windows. Thank you for the tour.
My polyneura broget wasn’t doing anything either until….I put it on my porch! It’s put out 4 leaves, is working on the 5th and 6th and a new growth point since late May! I say, put it outside and see if it does something.
I would normally agree with this except for it being so warm out. Polys are cool growing and prefer less heat than some others. I’m in the PNW also currently I think it may be too warm. Definitely worth a try though!
Fern I normally am so relaxed listening to you but as I listen to your list of things to do with your plants I am feeling anxious….. but then again if you have a list of things to do that means more videos!!!!! Yay your loss(list) is our gain(videos)! Get to work girlfriend your viewers are waiting!!!!Living how your new home is looking and so happy for you to be able to spread out! And you look adorable in that dress!!!!
I bought the Sharonaie from Planthaven as well. I chopped mine which it did not enjoy. It's growing new leaves, so that's good. Mine couldn't take the light in my cabinets, so I moved it out to a window. The leaves look better, but now I've got a few crunchy tips-- probably from lack of humidity so I have a humidifier on it. The roots are so small, and they grow slow in my chunky mix. I _think_ that means Great White will help it, and that maybe it good use regular feedings? So far, I definitely think it is happier outside of the cabinet. That's weird because I thought that with small roots it would appreciate extra water in the air. I'm going to venture to say it's a medium light plant. Tiny stems. Tiny roots. She has a delicate disposition. 😆
Hi Fern. I love your IKEA Milsbo wide cabinet!!! I would love to have one. It looks a bit like a giant terrarium. What a gorgeous look for any room. All your plants look very happy and healthy. I love the nepenthes!!! I have one. I put mine outside in summer, on my east facing balcony, for fresh air and of course to catch insects. I water it and mist it every day. Misting helps the pitchers to develop properly. Thanks for the tour!!! 🌱🌱💚💜💚💜
I FINALLY got a begonia amphioxus a few months ago! BTW, it's your fault that I had to have it, lol...the first time I saw one was yours and I fell in love 😍 Anywho, I totally agree...it has been such an easy and satisfying begonia! I have it in my kitchen on a shelf with tree filtered eastern light (Midwest US zone 7a) and just household humidity and it's been growing and even blooming! I have a few other begonias that I've had for a couple of years that haven't bloomed a single time yet for me, lol. It was everything I had hoped for and does not disappoint!
Hey fern regarding your sharonii, i don’t have one but i have a philo tenue (they look similar and grow the same) i also had problems with mine when it first started growing. Mine is now in leca so it is always well watered and has enough moisture when needed. So maybe stay on top of watering for yours. I had mine in a prop box and only then did the leaves come out nice. Once it had one or two leaves, I moved it out and put it underneath my humidifier, put it on a moss pole, and since then it’s been doing amazing so mine is in room humidity however, it is under a humidifier. Keep the feed up and good Light. i hope this helps❤️
I love your set up. Looks great! The cabinet is perfect below the TV. Loved how you displayed the artwork on the TV too. Much better than a blank TV screen. I am going to recommend that to friends and family. You have some beautiful plants. I am just getting started and learning what I like. I had some plants years ago, but now there is so much help available online, I am loving all I am learning. I know how you make your potting "soil" I am wondering with everything drying out so rapidly if maybe you need to add more of things that hold in moisture in addition to the repotting that you are planning? Some of those pots as you said are too tiny now. I have a couple things to repot too. You have been so busy lately, moving and everything else. I don't know how you keep up with it all. Maybe some more of the self-watering moss poles would help too. I would love to see more about them and how they are made under the moss that keeps them watered so well. Have you ever tried the DIY self-watering moss poles? Keep the videos coming. I look forward to seeing them and check each day to be ure I have not missed one. 🙂
need the milsbo tall edition! so excited to watch your vids rn since I’m just getting back into watching plant yt after my recent move and I’m in the same boat in so many ways 🤣 Im also finally catching up on getting my plants organized and I love not being alone!
for the hoya polyneura broget i had one that did the same thing & didnt start growing until i "reset" it by cutting the roots and throwing it in a sphagnum prop box.
Yeah, no Idea why but my sharoniae did nothing for months... in fact it only pushed out miniature leaves. I had it in pon and under a grow light and I only started seeing some progress when it started rooting into a lazy pole 🤷♂️
I also struggle with the Sharoniae. It’s really hard 😂😅 Your plants look amazing regardless of moving house Fern! 💙 I’m looking forward to seeing your Milsbo Tall tour 🥹
Wow that Hoya Wilbur Graves looks stunning 🤩 i see other people’s ones can revert. I am not a fan having a tv hook up to the wall and keep your head up watching tv i prefer on a tv stand watching straight forward. Why use the term partner and insufficient others often see when couples are in a relationship and call them that sounds kinda formal.
Please correct me if I am wrong but there is no such thing as a spent node on Hoya. I had more than 2 growth points come in from one node. Maybe change it up and put it in a different spot to wake it up! Love your videos!
Yes but in an enclosed space that amount of wetness can become an issue. Another great option is decorative fountains or even just vessels of water throughout the space
I would love to get an IKEA cabinet someday! We’re working with limited space and only 3 windows (including the balcony+2 other windows in other rooms), so I’ll have to wait until we eventually move and have more space 😂
hey fern! My partner and I have been thoroughly enjoying watching your videos the past few months and we wanted to get some of your merch! When clicking the link in the description though, it is showing an expired domain with random skin care links -- is there a new place to purchase your merch?
Hi! First of all, thank you so much for the support 🥺 Secondly, there was a glitch while renewing my domain and I’m in a waiting period for it to go through manually. It should be back up in the next week or so and I will post in the community tab when it is! Sorry about that x

Kisses to Olive 💚 also do you have a Hoya Germany? Was wondering if they were easy to care for?
Great news! Peperomia and Hoyas are both pet safe ❤ I’m skeptical they’d try to eat philodendron because they’re irritating to mucous membranes and don’t at all taste good! That’s a terrible loss so I hope this news gives some peace of mind ❤

I don’t have the Milsbo, but I have both the tall and wide Rudsta cabinets and I’ve found that the wider cabinets are easier to light from the top without having some plants super close to the lights and some plants far away. I specifically chose the Rudsta over the Milsbo because the back panel is black metal so you can use magnetic shelves to create levels for your small plants and props and it gives a very dramatic/moody aesthetic. Definitely preference and type of intended use. Pros to the tall are that it’s great for climbing or trailing plants vs the wide for crawling or spreading plants.
