I feel ya with the String of turtles. I had the same problem and learned that they are actually crawlers and prefer to creep across the substrate rather than hang like other string of plants. I put my turtles in a large bowl of moss and they are taking over. I get a bit of a dangle moment spilling over the sides but over all its living it's best life growing over itself like a ground cover. Great content as always. ✌😁🌱
Would really love you to do a video on small houseplants. So many of them grow so large but as someone has limited space I would love to know those that stay fairly small. :)
You and your plants are glowing! You look fantastic! Your plants are just beautiful! I love how you have "styled" them in your Milsbro cabinet. Thank you for sharing!
Oh Fern,Love how you styled your cabinet,it looks like a waterfall without the water coming down the middle,I have never seen such a beautiful and natural display of plants inside a cabinet! ❤❤ And it matches the way you displayed your plants on and around the cabinet too! Luv,Luv,Luv it so much! Natalie ❤️❤️🪴🍃👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
As someone who has their degree in horticulture, I admire how well you take care of your plants. They look happy and healthy. Well done. I’ve only been interested in tropicals since I did my course, so I’m fairly new to this. I’m learning a lot from you.
"The whole situation is just so cute to me" 😂 39:24 sooooo lovely, I totally get being this obsessed with plants, it's just awesome to be so passionate about something. loved the video 🌿💕
Ouuuu it’s after midnight here but I have to watch this before I go to bed now 🤣🥰 I love seeing cabinet setups, so I can get inspo for when I can eventually get my own🤞🏻
Hi Fern everyone is doing Wonderful in your Cabinet they love your new Home and there making you Happy And having a Home of your own Is Everything Enjoy and have a day❤😊
GUURRRLLLLLLLL all the plants are sooo beautiful. and our Mag x lux's look so different! I also got mine from north shore tropicals. Also love the heuschkelianaaaaaaaaaaa
Your plants are looking absolutely gorgeous! And the “I guess that was the last one” then it just ends kinda cracked me up. Made me think of some of the old movies where there’s no wrap up, just credits.
Dude that heuschkeliana hoya is everything. Omg. And yes once I started spraying my Wilber graves with the orchid spray now it puts out 5 blooms at a time. Over and over. Same with my calystaphylla!
Hey Fern! Every so often I purposely don’t watch your videos right away because I like them to pile up and then I can have ‘wildfern marathon’ night (usually takes me a week to get caught up) 😂 so I’m just watching this one. I see you have beneficial mites. Have they been helping?
Ok, so I have to agree with a few of the comments about how beautiful and glowy you are!🤩 You have renewed my interest in setting up a cabinet👍🏼🌿thanks for the video♥️it’s all looking fantastic!🌸🪴🌱🌿🍄🌼
Yay the Piper! I love my piper but she is not happy with my efforts yet. I can't figure out the watering, she'll seem dry but when I check the mix there's good 'ol fungi growing from the moisture! I too know the plant specific obsessions. I know mine bc multiple of the same will show up. Like I have 3 silver swords all the sudden, and plenty of African violets and now almost double digit pinguicula ohhh dear 😄
Everything looks great! Have taken many of your tips for the Milsbo tall. My temp inside reaches 85F in the day and humidity of up to 82%. I have Paphiopedilum orchids and a few other species of orchids in it. I use an elechomes humidifier inside on the bottom level. Loving it 🥰
Congratulations Fern on your new home. Your plants are looking so fantastic! All your hard work has paid off. Much happiness to you in your new place ❤.
My silver dragon was so bushy & beautiful 😍 then all of a sudden all the leaves died & now it's one leaf. Idk what I'm doing wrong but luckily it has corms & successful at growing it so I have a baby silver dragon when the one leaf decides to croak on me 😅
I love how much you love the "fuzzy/hairy" plants lol some are so cute to me but some just gross me out 😂 hoya serpens, cute AF! iron cross begonia, no thank you! Lmao idk what it is cause I love me a hairy man. Hairy plants, not so much. 🤣😅
Love a cabinet update video! Re: Jewel Orchid - It kind of looks like there are two kinds in that pot. The Ludisia Discolor and the Ludisia Nigricans. The Discolor has multiple stripes of pink/red on more black leaves and the Nigricans has a single stripe of white on slightly more green leaves. At least, that's what it looks like to me! I have both and seeing your pot made me wonder if you have two different kinds potted together. Either way - gorgeous cabinet!
i find string of turtles does way better when you wrap the strands around and around in the pot to create a sort of nest first, and then let it cascade. like you said the roots are just so shallow and tiny that the weight of it dangling often yanks it out, but if it's somewhat tangled at the crown it keeps everything in place the longer it gets.
I love the placement of your Hoya polyneura on top of Milano tall cabinet. Could you please share your care tips and if it gets supplemental lighting in this current location? It looks like a small light directly behind the polyneura when you’re taking it down to show in the video? It’s my understanding ( and experience ) it typically prefers less light than many Hoyas and certainly does not like direct or super bright light. Would love to know how you keep yours so lovely! Love all your tips and cabinet/Hoya info shared! Thx!
Hi! Thanks for asking. It doesn’t receive any artificial light and is currently growing in pretty low light conditions. There is a high south facing window across from it, but that is on the other side of the room so it only gets low-medium light from it depending on the weather and season. I’ve had good luck growing this plant in a variety of conditions. I find lower light promotes beautiful deep green leaves. Good luck 🌿
Hi Fern! Your plants look amazing wow!! I had a similar problem with my string of turtles. She was struggling.. However, a few weeks ago I saw a lady comment on fb that she was spraying hers everyday and watering about once a week. I usually don't spray my plants BUT I tried with this one (I was desperate) and oh boy did it make a huge difference!! I keep it always moist by spraying the top leaves and top soil every morning and I give it a good drink when I see the soil starting to dry up around the edges of the pot. I have mine in room humidity (35-60%) and now, thanks to that lady, she is thriving. From what I understand, she really doesn't like her roots to dry. Anyway... that was my experience. I hope that helps because you deserve a beautiful lush string of turtles too. I love all your videos btw
Fern 🌿 i hope you had a relaxing camping weekend 🏕🐕 I am glad to have u back, tho! 😅 i started following u actively only some months ago and now i feel i am completely hooked, and cannot go on without you 😂 my anxiety is kicking in this week for some reason so this video was perfect therapy! 💚 actually i fell asleep in the middle, so soothing it was, perfect planty asmr! 💤🌱 when i woke up i just picked up where i left. I feel so blessed that you exist 😊 thank you! 💗
Awww thank you so much. I'm glad that I'm back too. Thank you for watching and I hope the rest of your week is wonderful 💚 More videos to come soon :) Ps I feel blessed that you exist too 🥰
I think that the problem with peperomia prostrata might be that it cant support the weight of its strands so it keeps falling out. Maybe try growing it in a wide shallow pot and lay the strands on soil so they can root and spread by covering the space instead of hanging?
Omg so many pretty plants!🤩💖🌿 Just started to collect some hoyas too😍 I think that to get your hoya to bloom it needs to be rootbounded. But thats the only thing i know about geting hoya to bloom. Hope you get some flowers on your stunning hoyas soon. 🌸
Found out via Really Big Plant recently that string of turtles isn't actually meant to trail, but crawl. Prostrate means to lie face down so it makes a lot more sense and explains why the roots can't hold it when it gets too long.
Once again, a great way to end a rough day with a WildFern video! Cabinet looks great and your plants are all doing so well in it. Love love the adansonii! Was trying to decide if I should trail mine or put it on a pole and after seeing yours, I will definitely trail mine :)
All the plants are just lovely Fern 😍 🪴🌱❤ You are so pretty on that shade of blue 💙 Hope all is well chicky if your ever selling any of your obliqua babies I'd love to get one been looking in 🇨🇦 but haven't seen some yet !
I really like your cabinet, keeps a lot of plants in one area. I love the string of hearts, it is so long. How often do you water? How long have you had it? Do you feed the string of hearts? Thank you for the video Dot
Thank you :) I have had the string of hearts for a couple of years. I started it from a bunch of cuttings and have just let it grow out. I'm currently fertilizing it with Osmocote slow release fertilizer and it seems happy with that. Thanks for watching!
Geee that Caudata is gorgeous!!! What’s your secret? Mine is always struggling. It has bloomed though but I think it was as a last ditch effort because it was dying (but then I saved it!!)…
Mine struggled for a long time before it really took off and I have no idea why. I’ve increased watering and it seems to really like that. Also the high temperatures seem to have really inspired growth for it.

The windows in your house 😍 Would love a video about your experience buying a house and the process! Also are you wearing a mooncat polish? If so which shade?
About the string of turtles, it is a really shallow rooted plant! Also, with my plant strands don't get that long because they break from their own weight. I am not sure if that's normal, does anyone else have that problem?
Your videos are so relaxing to watch. You have a beautiful cabinet set up! ❤ Where did you get your suction cups to hang the wire grids, as well as the white clips to hang pots?
How much humidity 😫 do you give your Hirsch...cause it does give me 😔 grief at low humidity levels...hardly grows...what do you think it needs? 🤔 don't have a cabinet..live in semiarid area of Colorado. .
Mine gets quite high humidity at 70-90%.. I’ve grown it outside of the cabinet too, in regular room conditions, and it’s done well. I think maybe I just got lucky with one with good genetics 🤷♀️

Hi Fern! I recently found out some of my anthuriums and other plants turn a little light and yellow. Not because of watering, but I think it might be my growing lights. New leaves are coming like reddish.. and turning green normally. But now a little yellow. Is the lamp too long on? Or might they stand too close?
You are glowing in this blue 😍😍😍😍😍
thank you so much x

Fittonia and Haworthia. In my opinion easy plants. I only water the fittonia when its leaves are droopy.
That scindapsus giant leaf was absolutely hilarious. So random. Beautiful arrangement, everything looks so lush and happy

Fern, it’s so easy and quick to fix those walls. Your place is so cute, don’t cover it. A little spackle and paint, done.
Yeah I think paint will be a winter project! I’m looking forward to it 😊
