Loved the video! I’ve been waiting on this one I knew it was going to be a great one. I think this is the first time I’ve seen you without glasses I didn’t know who I was watching haha
The only real big trimming difference from what I've been doing since forever is the direction of the mustache cut. Sideburns too, but I got curly hair, so not much of a comparison there, I rather make a 20° solid separation a little under the middle of my ear... just press the trimmer without guard without moving it.
@beardsandbanjos you've got a real nice channel there sir, subscribed. I never new how much I needed to use heat (barbers will never tell us that), soon as I get one I'll share the results here
Is there a time when trimming against the grain makes sense? My beard is about where I want it in terms of length. The whiskers are about one inch long on average. But it’s kinda uneven in places. Would trimming against the grain even it out?
You could try that with the longest guard that you have and slowly go shorter until you hear your trimmer cutting some hairs. In general, you would want to do some tapering around the sideburn areas to keep it shorter than the main part of the beard around the goatee region. Be careful going against the grain as it may take more than you expect.
I'm sad that you can't have a bigger mo. My beard's pretty similar to yours, so it was interesting to see your routine. Ideally I would trim every week, as the white hairs tend to go wild, but I settle for fortnightly with some strategic trimming during week two, to keep it looking tight. And I have a small "English"-style mo which I think really tops it off nicely.
Good video. Very detailed. I use the Phillips Multigroom 7000. I do a 16 mm guard all around, then 12 mm on sides and cheek area. Too scared to use scissors. Lol
I like my beard longer, about 2.5” off the chin. My wife hates it. She likes the business beard but that length seems to not be as enjoyable. I like the beard balms and mustache waxes etc. It becomes somewhat of a hobby. Just took mine down to a half inch and im bored. The beard products seem redundant now
I had business beard for a bit but I think the longer beard looks better on me.
Yeah, we all have to find our own styles. I like the shorter medium lengths for me.

That’s funny. I think I’ve been wearing them for about 3-4 years now. I guess I was just trimming blind…😂
I'm mentally ready for a trim lol. Great video, demonstration, and explanations!
Enjoyed the video. Looking forward to seeing you on Copper Lodge Sunday.
Thanks Jason. It’s going to be a fun time!
Great video & tips here for me a first time full beard grower 👍
Glad I could help. Let me know if you have any questions.

Very helpful. That’s the exact beard style I'm going for.
That's awesome. Let me know if you have any questions.

Awes. Thanks for sharing. Do you trim upwards with the 16mm guard or only down towards the floor?
@@beardsandbanjos down (with the grain) always. I also don’t clean or line up the neck or cheek area. Just kinda go with the natural line.
@@markcress9636 cool. That’s what I figured. Going against the grain takes it really short.
Do you think going with the grain would work on curly/scraggly beards? As far at cutting evenly
You may have to try all different angles while continuously picking out your beard to make it more even.
@beardsandbanjos makes sense! Gonna try that , thanks bro
Do you have a twin brother!😆
Afraid not. That would be cool.

@@markwoodard659 I hear you. I like going between a short professor beard and a medium length. Keeps it interesting.
How often do you do the beard trim?
Every 3-4 weeks. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for stopping by!
I need a haircut bad. 😣
Beardscape Pro!
Do you do it yourself? I tried for a while, but it's so hard to see the back of your own head.
@@beardsandbanjos heck no! I would of had to start young. The only time I would cut my own hair is if I was bald.
this is really helpful
