As my dad used to say: "He cleans up well." You gave him a good looking cut. My hair has been receding for years. A couple years ago I noticed the top was thinning -a lot- and the crown had an almost bald spot. I was lucky to find a young barber that does excellent fades. I've found that keeping the crown very short with a high fade does a lot to make the thinning and hair loss less attention grabbing.
James, you guys keep doing what you do! I totally get it. Most people commenting about the crown issue are not taking into consideration your client base. You guys keep killin' it my dudes. Dont pay too much attention to the comments. It's easy to sit back and pick apart someone's mistakes. Or perceived mistakes. You guys are doing a stellar job. One of the big things I think that was getting everyone bent out of shape was the other barber saying, "it doesnt have to be perfect."
I'm envious of this guys beard growth. I would be super happy having that, patches and all. Mine is so thin it looks like pubes gone wild. Still growing it out and rockin it tho. Hoping by 3 months it will look atleast a little better and presentable. Got 6 weeks to go
I never gave any thought to the crown of my hair until I started cutting my own hair during Covid and it drove me nuts trying to blend it so I just started cutting it all off.
While I get your reasoning behind cutting into the crown... I don’t agree that it keeps a cut low-maintenance. When a cut short crown grows out it sticks up which creates more maintenance. Especially when you cut into it with texture shears. Short hair makes long hair stick up. I also don’t think you get a good shape off the head for the cut which effects the overall look and profile as well as negatively impacts the grow out and how long it looks good for the client. Granted, everyone does things different and this isn’t a bad cut at all. I love what you guys do and all. So no hard feelings. But I’m not about cutting into the crown.
I agree with this. The quality of the cut is very good and he clearly looks better than he did before however the hair cut won't last as long as it grows out, which is higher maintenance as he will either have to stick his crown down with product or come back for another hair cut (good news for the barber). Also cutting high in the weight line does round the head off which isn't such a good look. I have thinning hair and hate the texturising shears being used on the top of the head. It makes the hair feel much thinner as it grows out because of the longer and finer hairs that are left. A blunt cut on top works best I find. Still looks good though...for now
liam duffy my crown is think very think so much my scalp shows. Everywhere else grows long. So I decided to buzz my head down to a 2 guard but not over my crown area, that’s like a 2-3 anyway. Man it looks badass! I love it so much.
Both the barbers have great looking beards. The bald headed barber with thebeard looks really smart. Just a quick suggestion. Has anyone seen how Tom Ford has his hair cut. He has a high hair line but crops the fringe quite short. Either way done a good job on the client.
I laugh when my barber asks if the towel is too hot. I always think, “I’m a man, what is too hot”. Then it proceeds to melt my face. But I always tough out that first minute.
Another great looking cut. I think this guy is missing a great opportunity to go with a buzz cut. He's got nice shapped head, small ears, and nose. Buzz cut would look amazing. People just need to get over the fear 😁
I have a real patchy beard, and unironically thanks to this channel and other youtubes videos started to rock what I have... girls always loved the patchy beard... but the ones who claims about it are men ... still using it xd
I have moved three times in the past year, so I know all about finding the perfect barber. They are out there just keep looking and if you are in the CT area hit The Dapper Den up. -Mack
Anyone know what causes the redness at the base of the skull? After shaving my head I noticed the same thing. Is that irritation from the shave or something else?
If you have a receding hairline do you really want to go so short on the top? Wont that just magnify the recession? Seems like you'd want to grow your hair out as long as possible to help cover it up
I am going next week to cut my hair and trim beard. Honesty this is my first beard ever and it gets fuller every week or two. It looks good for me because nature of my beard is that really it grows in perfect line, so I am scared that they will destroy it if there is nothing special to trim, mybe a bit just. One guy gave me suggestion to go to one profesional barber shop so they can trim it....any suggestion, if everything is in line, is it necessary to trim beard?
The important thing is you get the look that you want. If you think your beard looks great and you don't want to change it then don't. However, if you have a style you are looking for make sure you tell the barber what you want to do. The first time you get your beard trimmed can be the scariest. Feel free to message us before or after if you have more questions. -Mack
i always thought the crown was the entire top of head and the cowlick is the swirly bit at back ...when i got my hair cut short my barber cut the swirl/cowlick just like you done this dudes witch i think looks best ,now im growing my hair out the cowlick swirl is a royal pain in the backside LoL
I like a fade on my hair and would consider more length on top except that my hair is so thick and a little course it's difficult to create balance with a fade and usually looks like there's a squirrel on top of my head so the top ends up coming off too.
The barber gave a good trim but I think it's time for the client to go bald. He wouldn't even look bad bald but that hair is like trying to sail a sinking ship - it just ain't gonna happen no matter how many techniques you employ. It's bittersweet but that's life.
This guy has enough hair to pull off this haircut, it looks good imo. I think its bad to impose the standard of a perfect straight hairline for all men, because were fucking men so were gonna lose some of it. Work with what you got. His hair still frames his face nicely. I got a similar haircut for myself with a similar hairline, pretty happy with it
When did you notice your cheeks filling in? I can grow a pretty thick rounded beard, but you can still see some skin on my cheeks. Not patchy, just not as full as the hair on the jawline/chin. Im 23
I request anyone who recognises a song playing in the background to list it down under this comment for others to find it. Thanks for your contribution. Cheers!

Man, how different beards are. My cheeks grow up really high and dense, but my goatie area and mustache are thinner than the rest and I hate how it looks when it grows longer, I just look like a damnterrorist. Wish I had a stache like this!

Pretty early here. So before anyone else mentions it, that's a kick-ass playlist playing in the background
You were the first to mention it, but everyone seems to agree the music is awesome.
-Mack
Avishek Deb was just about to comment they’ve always got a banging playlist every video. Bittersweet symphony what a song 👌🏻
If I never hear Lenny Kravitz again for the rest of my life, itll be too soon. lol. Other than that, great tunes.
Pearl Jam... yes, Jane’s...of course. Smashmouth... ahhh no.
I have seen a few videos from Dapper Den. They have a kick ass radio station playing in the back.
High hairline, patchy beard. I feel you, buddy. Good music btw! Pearl Jam!
Yes good music. All I Want by Toad the Wet Sprocket. EDIT: Basket Case by Green Day too. Great music.
You guys are 2 hours and 41 minutes from me up here in Massachusetts. Definitely worth the trip one of these days for a fade and beard trim.

Love James technique and how he explains the cut and how funny and nice he is with his clients .
Well, that's gotta be the most aesthetically pleasing looking barbershop I've ever seen. Wait, why am I even watching this? How did I get here?
The world may never know.

Would love if this barber shop was close to where I live!!!
At least you know you have a shop to go to if you find yourself in the area. Thanks for watching man.
-Mack
He would also rock with shaved head... has a nice shape of head for it.
yup, he will rock the bald head but i think if he had no patchy beard but a fuller one, then he would kill it
@Jason Avery Samething happen to me. Saw my head on a Walmart security cam and said it's time to shave it off...lucky I have a very thick bread.
Hahaha great minds think alike...
Yeah was gonna comment that lol, plus I think he’ll suit a musketeer, as he has patches in all

This shop looks like it would be hella fun to work at. Good vibes
It’s awesome, and the guys are bullshit non stop, I always have a great time there
Loved hearing the verve in the video! Always great music in your vids!
I never gave any thought to the crown of my hair until I started cutting my own hair during Covid and it drove me nuts trying to blend it so I just started cutting it all off.
new stylist here, not a barber but this was super helpful and fun to watch. nice work!
Wow, what a difference. So much better than when hair is thin and a guy tries to cover the head. He's gonna be very happy later tonight!!! lol
no crown it's the best, really enjoyed this haircut, one of the best barbers ❤️❤️🙏
I get a very similar haircut with my thinning hair. Great job Dapper Den as always.
Wish I had some shops like this around me. Especially one good with beards!
You never know, you could find a hidden gem. Feel free to send us a message and we can see if we can find a great shop!

always keep the crown, also never use thinning scissors on a man thats thinning its a no no, add texture with normal scissors and point cut

The music is so good
Great result ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Awesome haircut.
Aren’t there powders or spray ons to help fill the patchy spots?
The Dapper Den is my fav. Best barbers. 👍🏻😀 handsome client. Did he wink at the end? ☺️
I really want to find a barber like you in my area. How to I find someone like you where I live? I need to find a barber like him in my area.
Enjoyed this one, well done
Thanks for watching man!

Thanks!
To the guy who is getting the cut:
You will look awesome with a shaved head when the day comes my man :) nothing to worry about.
My thoughts too !
Oooo pearl jam playing. Best 90s band.
Whats the wax name that he used??
I laugh when my barber asks if the towel is too hot. I always think, “I’m a man, what is too hot”. Then it proceeds to melt my face. But I always tough out that first minute.

a proper handshake
Nice video. Have you had any challenging hair transplant patients who are scarred up?
Fabulous ,you really know your availability and talent.great job !
I feel like he did an awesome job lining that beard up and taming it cause after he was done it almost looked fuller
Any tricks to grow a beard ? I get to certain growth then trim it 🙄then regret it . Is beard oil any good?
Beard Oil will keep your beard and skin moisturized, but does not stimulate growth. The best thing to do is just to let it grow out!
-Mack
Ok thanks 👍
Welcome too my liberty guys
Flat topping the back will be a good choice as well. No, right or wrong way
I probably wouldn't say this if I had a patchy beard, but I think it builds character. Just look at Sam Hyde's beard, and he don't give a F***
jerszak HE CANT KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT!!

Hi 👋 James
Hey William!
-Mack
Crystal Brook William Hickey
So for the back and sides, what would I ask for in my barbers?
Based on the video they did a one and two fade on the back and sides.
-Mack
High and tight
Always the best music
He should try rogaine on his beard it worked for me

You NC guys know. Especially i85 south. That's hell..
Mad Max on the roads down here. So many gnarly wrecks every day. 2nd worst shy of Houston!
He puts the balm through his hair first, gets loose cut hair all over his hands and then puts it all over the dudes face
cid fan use kiss express for patchy beard or hair fiber ffs
Buzz the top a number 2 guard !!! He’d look imo 100x better
I had that same haircut once but I paid £5
My hair is thinning right in the middle of my fringe so really not sure what style to have
Cant belive you guys no longer ship to the UK I was well looking forward to buying more products. Gutted. No good brands here I know off.

NEVER CUT THE CROWN
Why
Freek but are u In the video 🤷🏻♂️ he wants it like it so
TheMMA Guy it’s about what the customer wants soo shh
Agree. Guys thinnin should avoid the crown at all costs & buzz if down everywhere else. Avoid the crown area!
so everyone who agrees with this dude doesent know how to cut the crown and they are cutting it off,its easier
Good work shia labouf
I wish my barber took such great care.
Verve in background
Low maintenance always. I always get a high and tight, I don't even want to comb my hair.
I also tell my barber to remove the crown hair
Remember not all men develop a full beard early. I'm 40 and my cheeks are filling in fast now.
When did you notice your cheeks filling in? I can grow a pretty thick rounded beard, but you can still see some skin on my cheeks. Not patchy, just not as full as the hair on the jawline/chin. Im 23
