Another great and informative video. Thank you! Glad to hear you’re n remission. And your glasses are fun! Nothing wrong with statement glasses. Love it!
Thanks so much! I'm glad you thought the glasses were fun. I thought that when I picked them out. I like a bold touch now and then. I appreciate you watching my channel!
I've lived in my 55 community 18 years. Love it. We look out for each other. Have lots of recreational activities. Of course we see and hear children. Most of us have grandchildren who visit. As far as gossiping goes, if you don't participate in gossiping you don't ever hear any.
I love hearing this! So glad you love it as much as I love my community! I’m not sure why people think we don’t allow kids. My grandkids come over all the time. Appreciate you watching my channel!
I would never live in a 55+ community. It is not a natural environment to me. Nothing pleases us more than hearing the young children across the street sing songs, slide on the snow, bring over little gifts (the last one was a bird house she made). You can have the 55+ community. It would be pure hell for me.
@@Southwest55Plus - A vital society has all ages living in the same community. Segregating society by ages or gated communities is a sign of society in decline.
You might not have a good understanding of how many 55+ communities are setup these days. Lots of them are integrated with all ages communities. The Verrado (Buckeye, AZ) community celebrations for July 4th included activities for all ages. The 55+ section of housing has some things for adults only over 55 but they also use things in the larger overall neighborhood. I don't see any decline in society from this at all. Our societal problems stem from things much worse than adults who choose to be active in their own community.
Yep. I sure cannot imagine not having a mix of people of different ages in your neighborhood. It keeps you younger and connected to the real world. And honestly a lot of old people are really demanding and stuck in their ways. They have forgotten that change is the only constant.
So glad you're in Arizona. Not quite there yet but when I am I intend to reach out to you for an affordable single family residence in Surprise, AZ. Until then, may you be healed of all ailments and live to serve Arizona home buyers long into the future! Respectfully, a 64 year old veteran living in Arizona 🙂
Thank you for your kind words and healing thoughts! I'm doing great and plan to work for a long time! Call me when you're ready. Thank you so much for watching my channel!!
The main reasons why people leave my Phoenix area 55+ community are that they have to go into a nursing home or assisted living, they pass away, or they move in with adult children or in a guest house on the property of their adult children. I'm not sure about the glasses, but if you like them it's all that matters.
@@Southwest55Plus if you have to think about it, you don’t like them. In my opinion, they’re kooky and not flattering. They take over your face rather than enhancing your appearance.
my girlfriend is in Maryland lives in leisure world, a 55 and older. She pays $1044 a month just to live there. That is absolutely ridiculous. That is somebody's whole paycheck almost thank goodness or her husband have good retirement.
That’s excessive for sure. But if the cost of the homes is super low then maybe but I don’t advise people to purchase in those area. You have to buy smart!
Excellent video. After five years our 55+ home is for sale. Craving diversity and worldview more humanistic instead of evangelical/ right wing/ white/ anti gay. Don’t get me wrong this is the nicest newest home I have ever lived in; perfect natural setting too on a creek full of life. Ready for a change, getting back to my roots in the northeast. Had some 35 years or so of the sunbelt.
I think lots of people decide to make changes in their homes and communities. It helps when most of us have good home equity to take out when we sell. I’m happy to hear that you’ve got a plan. That creek sounds enticing as well. Thanks for watching my channel!
You didn't mention dissatisfaction with the community HOA board of directors or the incompetent management company overseeing the community. Sometimes HOA fee go up to higher levels.
Great tips on things to consider first before moving into a 55+ community! On your glasses--- I think you would look friendlier with more feminine glasses that have a little bling at the outer corners. A little bling will highlight your stunning blue eyes!!! No reason to hide them with black glasses....
I’m not thinking that most HOAs will “harass” their residents if they simply follow the rules agreed to at time of purchase. It hadn’t been my experience at all.
Wow, that was an unexpected story at the end - sad. 😥 My opinion on those glasses probably would be to get something a little more subtle. But that's just my taste, doesn't mean it's right.😆 I love your content, thank you!
55+ Communities in AZ are fantastic but we have definitely seen a run up in prices. Still some affordable options though even in the most popular areas. Thanks for watching my channel!
depends on the community. I live in a 55+ apartment complex and one of my wisest decisions ever. Fantastic community. lol and you only hear gossip if you participate in it. We are totally spoiled here by management
@Southwest55Plus My community is wonderful! I sold a condo in Seattle and moved to a less expensive place. I absolutely love living in my 55+ community. We are not isolated with just other old people as some seem to think. Most of us are very active in our churches and wider communities.
The largest retirement community in Florida made the news for having the fasted growing STD rate of any population. I have heard it's pretty wild. This may have something to do with the Gray divorce.
The Villages lol. However, Margaritaville in Daytona Beach is a cesspool of alcohol and debauchery. Old, drunk swingers 24/7 who act like they’re back in middle school.
We rent in the south for winters. just don’t want the stress and commitment like we see others have not to mention the cost! Many that bought high last 3-4 years will lose big money. Glasses are not good. Why people want glasses that hide your face and make people look at the glasses and not you are beside me? Your a pretty older woman.
I'm torn but I don't think I'll wear them out. You know how it is though--you lose them all the time. I order a ton of them so I've always got a pair handy. These are different for sure. Thanks for the input!!
Oh thanks for saying that! I agree that these glasses are ridiculous. I'll save them for an emergency only and keep trying to find some that don't look so goofy! Thanks for watching.
There are much better choices for glasses!! Life is to be lived, no one is promised a certain amount of years, live life to the fullest and expect to meet your maker, that is not sad, but a certainty.
Good video. We live in a retirement community in Australia and we find most leave due to declining health and death. That is life of course and they all loved their time here over the years. Re your glasses, I think they are hiding your face, as in your glasses are wearing you rather than the other way around. Maybe try some alternative frames as you do have a beautiful face. 🙂
Thanks for watching and love your comment! As for the glasses, now that I see myself on my big TV I know I will only use them at home. Too goofy! On to the next pair soon!
You have a very pretty face. Consider wearing glasses that are not as heavy and do not take from your natural looks. Perhaps rectangular timeless glasses. Enjoyed your subject. Recently bought into a 55+. I'm not sure I like it...
Thanks for your honesty! They looked good online but wow not so good on my face! Still trying to find some that are fun but not wacky. Stay tuned for the nect version that I try! Thanks for watching.
