Great info. I've been wanting to give plug fishing a go, and this just sold it for me. I'll be grabbing some plugs this weekend.

Thanks 🙏 for watching the video. Glad you are going to give it a try. I sure you will enjoy the fight with the fish more then with a flasher on .

Just a tad faster then when your using flasher. Check the plug to see how it swims at different speeds

Gorgeous day! And great video! I'm not that well versed in plug fishing so found your setup interesting. Your line setup was also interesting with braided mainline to 40' fluorocarbon bumper line, that's almost no stretch! I guess if you're fishing that deep the zero stretch helps, but do you run that same line setup when fishing shallower in the summer?

@@BCFishingJournal Thanks for watching and your comment! Yes I pretty much use that set up year round and in shallow waters . When the fish hits it in shallow waters it mostly takes it off the clip with the braid line , even the smaller coho .

I've never fished with plugs, but I want to try. I have a 602uv and a 645uv - the plugs are Plastic - will pulling that thru-pin not damage/break the plastic plug? I can see it doable if it was a wooden plug.

If you’re careful it won’t damage the plug . If your local and buy them at Rivers Sports they can show you how to pull them

When you connect the 40# flouro to the 25# leader of the plug, are you using a swivel?

    • @RichDueck

I hook my 40 ft of flouro leader with a knot to my braided main line.

@ yes for sure. I thought I heard in the video you then add an additional 25# leader for the plug. Just wondering if there is a swivel for that to the 40#

@andrewcusson1815 Sorry but i only met that i use one 25 lb leader and using a knot to the braid. No swivels used

also, i notice your 602 had black spots along the sides - mine does not. why the difference? Mine is the model 602uvbii

You can buy them with the spots or not. I have both and sometimes one works better than the other. There is also one called the tubby which is fatter then the classic.
