I'm a french woman and I love your reviews but really your accent in french is just hillarious ^^ Thank you for your amazing videos I really enjoy your way to express and describe the fragrances. A big Thank you from Paris. :)
Haha thank you! French is such a beautiful language, and..so many perfumes have French names! I cringe when I mess the names up Still....I will try to prefect. :)
These spotlights are so helpful! Sometimes it's daunting to start with some houses when they have so many fragrances 👀🙏 The sight of alcohol! 😷 been on whiskey and guniness the last 3 days , and paying for it now. So any frag with a alcohol note is a no go for a few days atleast 😂
Yay..L'artisan Parfumeur! This is one of the houses I've been hoping you'd spotlight cos I'm considering blind-buying either Safran Troublant, Noir Exquisse, Timbuktu, Dzongkha or Bucoliques du Province. Glad you covered at least Noir Exquisse..except that now I'm more in a fix than before! Btw you're hilarious! Thanks for both the review and the entertainment!
Fou basically means crazy lol. My personal favourite from the brand is Tea for Two, such an amazing scent: very realistic. Great video as usual! Have a nice evening.
Point of note to determine the very first issues of any of this house's older frags is that the logo on the gold cap is rather small and the embossing is not a clean as the second bottling where the logos are very large and well defined on the bottle's heavy, gold cap. Anyway, I sure do enjoy Fou D'Absinthe, Timbuctu, Premier Figuer (noted as the finest fig perfume in the world and the first true fig of it's kind - made the young female creator famous, sorry, forgot her name), Dzing! (makes me crazy as I just don't "get" it), and the really interesting Al Oudh, which gets not much mention anywhere but has a certain charm that does make a statement. Hoping to obtain Tea for Two and Merchant Loup soon! Thank you for this very good review!
Thanks!!!! I have heard much about D'ZING! But never smelled it. I know this brand has been through some changes overt the years! I think your comment is going to help people discovering this brand so...I'm gonna pin it!
I like this format, the green screen is sometimes a bit distracting. This is like sitting down and having a chat about frags, loving it! L'Artisan is a bit of a hit and miss for me, I've sampled a lot but I only have 3 bottles from them so far. L'eau de L'Artisan, Caligna and Traverse du Bosphore. The one that's intriguing me still is Amour Nocturne because of the gunpowder note...
I love L'artisan's green fragrances so much! Premier Figuier and Fou d'absinthe are brill, and I like Caligna a lot. I'm glad you got the video up! And hi to the bird!
Hello Thomas, Thank you for this both enjoyable and informative video, keep up with the format, it’s really great! I’m really intrigued by Noir Exquis, particularly by the chestnut and ebony wood notes in it, pretty rare in perfumes, aren’t they? If you have any suggestions of scents that have any of them, I’d much appreciate your expertise:) Also, what is your trickery? You are getting younger in every video that comes out, and I’ve been a loyal sub for maaaaany years now. Do you drink some magical concoction with tuberose and sandalwood infusion and virgin blood hiding somewhere there? Have a beautiful start to your week! Waiting for more videos, they always make me smile and learn something new. Victoria
Love the idea of spotlighting a house. The beautiful Tammy put me onto Safran Troublant. I have sampled Voleur de Roses, it's pleasant, but I have other rose scents I prefer. I recently received a sample of Noir Exquis and it's interesting, however, as we are in summer I will wait until autumn/winter and try it again then. I would like to sample Timbuktu, Dzongka and Iris Pallida ... thanks so much for the video Tom💜
When will you get Chameleon from Zoologist to review? I've had my eye on that one for awhile and really want to check it out. Thanks for another great video. And agree that Passage d'enfer is the best of the bunch along with Safran Troublant.
I got 8 L'Artisans. They are great and affordable. I like all of them, but Fou D'Absinthe and Merchant Loup are my favorites. They make me go for my arms a billion times a day when I wear them. I got a decant of Traversee du Bosphore but it did not agree with me and thought it was too feminine for my liking.
If you want to try some quirky fragrances from this brand, there are two that I highly recommend: Traversee du Bosphore (leather and apples) and Dzing! (meant to smell like a circus) There is also a collection that was released just a few years ago called Explosions d'Emotions, which is interesting all around. They played around with notes like gunpowder and metal. For awhile I had one that smelled like gin, gardenia and Sichuan pepper. (Rappelle-Toi, if you ever want to test that one!) Those are some fascinating scents.
Your description of drinking absinthe in a pine forest made me snort, haha. I love Nuit de Tubereuse, and (oddly) it lasts longer on me than Carnal Flower. 💚
Thanks Mr! Hey....I wanted to do my own "tag" video" coz ya know, all the cool kids are doing it (5 years ago). But I wanted to do a fragrance reviewer "most challenging" fragrances. And wanted to tag yourself, carlos, mrsmelly, lanier smith (coz he's so vintage fabulous) among others. Would ya take part? I know the life of a youtuber is busy lights camera action but ya know...I'm venturing out from my shy corner of youtube and wanna try some new shit. :)
@@ouch110 Yeh for sure! Good to keep innovating. I just shot something today for my channel and it's totally different and took me out of my comfort zone but it felt awesome!
I like a few from L’Artisan, no loves though. D’Zing is interesting, but lacks performance. The tuberose one is great at first, but there’s something in the dry down that makes me nauseous. Noir Exquis is pretty, but I struggle with chestnut in fragrances...not sure why. Nice video, thanks for the hard work😘
How does Histories d'oranges compare to The Serge Lutens orange blossom scent? Never learned to like that one... the cumin in it comes off much too funky for me. I was sitting on a train once after spraying 2 small sprays of it from, and someone sitting next to me literally moved 1 seat away LOL. That was the end of that scent for me.
I have Noir Exquis, Voleur de Roses, and Amour Nocturne. I especially love Amour Nocturne. The gun powder is amazing. Waiting to sample Tea for Two and Passage d'Enfer.
Nuit de Tuberose - they've put the tuberose to bed. Favourites from this line Dzing!, Bois Farine - perfect before bed scent. I've tried the peppers and many others. The limited edition Iris Pallida is great. This brand is wonderful and diversified. Fou = crazy.
I guess they’ve been reformulated ? Some of my older bottles have a little heft to them , you’re right though they’re not anything crazy but just easy to enjoy
Just got their Ive got their UN AIR DE BRETAGNE which is one of the best dark AQUATICS in my collection Ive got BATUCADA on order its another AQUATIC but with a CAIPARINA - LIME/MINT - vibe everything the produce intrigues me thanks for covering the other offerings from this house JIM from MIAMI BEACH
They have a good lavender called Buccoliques de Provence - which reminds me of holidays in Provence. Otherwise they don’t have much that tempts me. The bottle designs also don’t appeal to me that much. However this is useful - well done.
Oh Seville a L'Aube ! I've been waiting for you to review that. The first time I smelled it I literally washed it off my body and thought it was repugnant. Buuuuut, it's a grower. There's an interesting Spanish Lavender oil in it too, which gives it an interesting kick. Did you ever read the official writeup/narration for the perfume ? (it's on the info section at fragrantica). It's... pretty scandalous and out there... which of course made me think that I HAD to buy it. I'd give that a read!!!!!!!!!!! My boyfriend likes to think of it as the "slutty nun" fragrance LOL. Did you ever see Katie Puckrik's review for it?
I only have two from this house, Seville A L'aube (the old versions in the clear bottles), and Nuit de Tubereuse, sadly I have left the rest of the house woefully neglected. Some of their more popular scents have been reformulated so I wonder how I'll like the current versions. The old version of Nuit de Tubereuse does smell like tuberose but it's really spicy and peppery. It sounds like they ruined it, though the old version isn't on any of my top favorites lists either.
L'Artisan are funny with those soliflore names, and then burying the title note so you can't even find it in the fragrance. They did that with Drole de Rose. It should have been called, "Ha Ha, tricked you into buying this by putting Rose in the title." Drole de Rose is a fancier version of Pink Sugar. Maybe they should be called L'Artifice Parfumeur. Thanks for your great reviews.
I smelled recently La chasse aux papillons I love the tubérose in it. I hope you could make a review on it as one day😉. I will go to ask a sample to try it on my skin. Thank you for your videos ☺️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Loved their Vanilia but discontinued ☹️. Voleur de roses is also a good one. Wine and patchouli! Currently enjoy Dzongkha. Makes you smell like a temple. Nuit de Tubereuse on my skin ends up being similar to Loulou by Cacharel 🤔.
Strange, I have Nuit de tubéreuse and it is 100% tuberose bomb! Like overwhelmingly tuberose for me! They may have messed up the samples, I actually have the old version/bottle, it may have changed...
OMG Artisan Parfumeur has so many awesome, delicious and unique fragrances that when I decided to buy one when I visited their concession in a dept. store called Bon Marché in Paris I couldn't pick a favourite. I've decided to get Eau d'Ambre Extreme and Noir Exquis. I still have a few more on my wish list

Thank you so much!

Great video Tom. I've just ordered Timbuktu so looking forward to trying it!
Get the vintage, sir. It is wonderful!
@@m.s.biteth1164 Yes it's the blue label I've got coming. Hopefully!

L’Artisan is a house I love. Everything I’ve tried from them smells great. I wonder if you’d like Mimosa pour Moi.

Satiric Satyr thanks for the tip, will not blind buy that one 👍🏻 I was previously thinking about it
Love velvet underground
i have l´été en douce from them, a breeze in the summer night , i love it!
I have Noir Exquis, Voleur de Roses, and Amour Nocturne. I especially love Amour Nocturne. The gun powder is amazing. Waiting to sample Tea for Two and Passage d'Enfer.
M favorite perfume house ever. They are just so incredible and different.
Dzing! That's the ONE people always mention in comments and messages. still I have never smelled it. :)

I love Safran Troublant... it's light but persistent. It smells like an Indian dessert sweet and a little spicy.

Really? Whoa, I love LouLou, well.....love/hate
ouch110 Fragrance Reviews I hate valour de roses, it was bad blind buy mistake!
I got noir exquis for Christmas is sends me to sleep it’s so comfy
I absolutely love Drôle De Roses 🥀
Yay livestream!!!!!!!
Would you review Bana Banana at some point?! It is supposed to be a nice banana, and I can't wait to hear your view on it!!
I'll answer in my q&a :)
Seville a Laube (I think that's how you spell it lol) ...that one is the only one I tried and I hated it. It instantly reminded me of corn chips.
I love Drole de rose and nuit de tuberose 😏 beautiful fragrances

Passage D'enfer. :)
