A lovely watch as always . Dived in at the end to say hi . Didn’t see the notification in time and was at the cinema anyway but happy to have the chance to view . 😀
Agreed with everything you said here... Rose was the pivot that the marketers and trend forcasters span and still spin around aimlessly and then collectively hit the perfumers over the head with. Reinventing the wheel comes to mind. Im sure the perfumers of 50 years ago and even more so 100 years ago are shakingbtheir heads and laughing at the sheer absurdities being released each year by brands like Tom Ford and Orto Parisi (costing the price of a monthly rent) ito thr willing hands of the dumbed down public who suffer from fear of not being in mode. Crazy. Even the Noble Rose herself is laughing 😑
Great review! I still have enthusiasm for L'Artisan, I would love to sample their new(ish) Ode a L'Oudh. Arquiste is a great house, my fav of theirs is Boutonniere #7.
Thank you for another great review! For me the territory between mainstream and "proper" niche is my favourite. I like scents that are just a bit different, but not too difficult and simply nice to wear. I love many Miller Harris fragrances for this very reason. They'll use a carrot seed but not necessarily a car tire note 😄 I know you have already done a couple, but if you did another Miller Harris review (maybe Peau Santal or L'Air de Rien, or Violet Ida, or Secret Gardenia?) I would be very happy to listen 🤗
Ah, wonderful. I’m not sure I’ve ever tried Kuwait. And I really must fill the gaps in my Nishane knowledge. Once again - thank you so much for saying Hello. It’s always great to be able to see and speak to the people who watch my work.
Another sensational fragrance video from Persolaise. I have never tried Vetiver Java by Perris Monte Carlo.I need to try the fragrance because I love Vetiver. I do love a lot of fragrances from the brand. My favorite is Bois d‘Oud.
Very Nice Persolaise! Its always done well! I never worrie! Very Professional and very Informational too!...I guess i never could understand when people say no its more like a spring rose vs a summer rose???? What really to be honest Persolaise! is the difference there is no such difference from spring to summer other then in spring it still can be chilly at night and in summer for the most part warm everynight so was just wondering because i do not get it Persolaise so bare with me when i say i just don't get when everybody talks that way!....It must be the language of a Di Hard Fragrance lover!
Terry, you raise a fair point. I guess the main difference is that what I would call a ‘summer rose’ would be warmer, balmier, slower, lazier, heavier. Whereas a ‘spring rose’ would be brighter, more water, more energetic, greener, lighter. As always, thanks for watching.
recently popped in to my local perfume store to smell peau, drawn in by the sweet sensuality of the press copy & found it rather generic. blocky, as you say, is very apt
It's a shame that L'Artisan is rarely talked about now. Rebranding seems to be a risky move for brands - long terms fans I know don't connect with the new L'Artisan. Influx of bottles at the discounters didn't help either.

Not to worry, Angela. I hope the movie was good.
@@Persolaise it was ok but a powerhouse performance from Jessica Chastain really carried it . The film was The eyes of Tammy Faye .
Videos from Persolaise always makes my day, thank you Lord P 🔥❤️
And comments from Ryan always make mine.

Let’s see how many of the 2022 roses turn out to be classics.
Thanks for watching.
I love "vintage" love at first scent episode format 👍
Me too 👏

Yes, I have a soft spot for L’Artisan too.
Thanks for watching.

Thanks for this. I think many people enjoy the 'best of both worlds' territory.
Great meeting you and Madame Persolaise in London today! 😁
Tom, it was so kind of you to stop and say hello. I was very touched.
Did you smell anything interesting?
@@Persolaise Roja Kuwait was beautiful, but I think Nishane Favonius was my FAVOurite (pun intended) 😋

@@Persolaise Kuwait is beautiful if you like amber fragrances 😁 It was an honour to meet you, hopefully we’ll cross paths again sometime!

Thank you so much, Ed.
Guerlain has recently released Rose Barbare too. That one I actually like though in general I don’t gravitate to rose.
Rose Barbare is from 2005. It’s now part of this re-designed range.
Thanks for watching.

Some say the Mémoire de Roses is similar to The Coveted Duchess Rose from Penhaligon's
Ah, interesting. I'd have to re-smell the Penhaligon's.

Yes, there is something rather hard and unyielding about it.
Thanks for watching.
@@Persolaise "peau" in the sense of " a hide" i suppose

Yes, such major transitions are always difficult to pull off well.
Thanks very much for watching.
Strange for me, lots of cleaning or clean scents take me back to my childhood.
I think we all have our own ‘nostalgia scent’ references.
