its so life changing that youve become so minimalistic. most youtubers wouldnt stay in a hostile-its refreshing!! sounds like your trip was unforgettable!! much love
After months of obsessing over this video, I finally booked my flight for my first solo trip to Iceland! Thanks for inspiring me, Allison! This will definitely be a bit out of my comfort zone, but I can’t wait!
This was so amazing! It is so cool you went on this adventure all by yourself 😊❤️ good for you! I think travelling by yourself is good for the soul! So many amazing experiences
I just did my first solo trip and I LOVE that you’re capturing yours. It’s empowering to see one of you tubers love embracing solo travel. Thanks for sharing! Defiantly adding this to my list.
I love that you are travelling alone! This is one of my things on my bucket list is to travel alone and stop waiting for people to plan trips I want to take! This gives me motivation to do just that ☺️ I really hope you have a great trip!!
Exactly my thinking as well! Everyone has their own schedules and commitments and I realized if I waited for someone to be ready for every trip I want to take in my lifetime, they just weren't going to happen!
Allison Anderson love that! glad someone has the same way of thinking about this as I do! you make it look so easy to travel alone, which I know it’s not so props to you!!
Hi Allison. i have been a fan of yours for so long. at fifty i became disabled with a chronic illness. it was your calm informative videos that has helped. you remind me so much of my daughter, she is around your age. when i saw iceland in video, it was like i was there. being a single mom of two did not leave much travel time. and that was fine, because my son and daughter are everything to me. i have never written. i am now 61 and had to tell u how much i enjoy your videos. You are an amazing young woman. kudos for you to travel and adventure. just always be safe. Love, Edie
This gives me all the feels!! I’ve traveled all over the US solo but been too scared to go overseas solo. This inspires me to go back solo, thank you fo the inspirations. Can’t wait to see your next adventure.
I am really excited about this trip!! I should do more solo trips. As long as you are careful, everything will be fine. ADDED BONUS: you get to do what YOU want to do. There's no compromise on what you do, where you stay, what you eat, and where you go. Kudos to you, Allison!
Wow! A lot of my style (hair color, wear neutrals) was pulled from you wayyyyy back in the day and i just found your channel again. I want to go to Iceland SO BAD and I’m emotional over this?! Ugh how amazing. Starting to binge all the years of videos I’ve missed!
I went to Iceland three years ago and get super nostalgic whenever I see video/pictures about it! Solo traveling is a great resolution, I would like to try to go on a solo city trip this year just to see how I like it :)
Please do a video explaining the details of traveling alone! I know for so many people, including myself, traveling alone is scary and intimidating so a tips video would be so cool!
I used to watch your videos when I was in middle school (the amarixe days). I am now 25, single and ready to travel the world and have so much nostalgia. You are just as beautiful and radiant as ever. I'd love to be able to travel with you sometime LOL! Best of luck.
love it!! my husband and I did this for our honeymoon - rented an old volkswagon camper van and drove around the entire island and camped along the way. I've done a fair bit of traveling and Iceland is my favourite country so far.. so much so that I'm already planning another month long trip once my kids are old enough to do hikes with us :)
This makes me want to go, it’s so beautiful! Please could you make a video about your experience of travelling alone and any tips? Especially as a female.
I''m so much into travel photos and vlog since I cannot travel myself. When I watch other youtubers, I'm never satisfied. But this one is so much different.
Well done for road-tripping solo. I live here and haven't even done that yet...but maybe now I will!! The glaciers are incredibly beautiful, I love hiking on them - glad you got to do it.
Allision your an amazing photographer and film maker, the shots and filing you did is amazing! It looks like a once in a lifetime trip. That’s so cool that’s your new resolution. The quality and how you put your videos together is incredible. You are very talented. You looked so gorgeous and your hair and skin is so pretty.
scott a So, Scott A and ccap321, I challenge you to do it...eat alone in a restaurant. It really isn't as nerve-racking as you think. When I travel for work, I do it a lot. Here are a couple of tips. Eat at the restaurant bar. Oftentimes, I strike up a conversation with another solo eater or the bartenders. Or, bring your phone. It is a good time to clear out emails. Don't be afraid, you can do it!!!
Wow! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful part of the world with us!💓 you are so brave for traveling so far on your own, you are so inspiring!🤗
This is honestly so inspiring. I just want to be as independent as you, doing meaningful things and learning/exploring the world and myself... It's not something a lot of people do. I also resolve to go on solo trips when I can. Thanks for sharing!
This is so inspiring honestly. I use to always think I needed someone like a companion to travel with. But I definitely don’t and this is so amazing! I want to experience life to its fullest and visit places and seeing you do it on your own makes me realize I can too! 😩
Wow ! Love it, Iceland has always been on my list to go, but you did a road trip!!! Another level. Thank you for doing a travel check, sometimes traveling solo has concerns if the place you are going is safe.
Oh my goodness! I have no words to express the beauty you experienced in Iceland. W💛W! Good for you Allison! Glad you shared with all of us for inspiration.
I found your channel through the Charleston video! I recently went to Iceland with my husband and it WAS THE MOST incredible trip ever. We decided to regularly vlog our trips after going to Charleston about a year ago and it was the best decision ever. It is so fun to look back on our memories.
I would love to see how you packed for your trip, if you are willing to share. We like to travel to cold places too, but cold weather gear is so bulky. Tips? :)
Ditto, I am starting my own Solo Travel as well (Just came back From Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama) - Iceland Aug 2018 - also :-) St. Thomas in in Sept. Good trip Have fun!
You inspire me to start my solo trip this year. I always wanted to do it but I keep on procrastinating. Iceland is so beautiful and those horses or ponies are adorable!
Great video! I solo-tripped to Iceland for two weeks in 2015, which included a 9-day road trip. Was June, so I didn't see a dark sky the whole time. One of the best trips of my life.
I think solo travelling once in a while is such a good idea. You learn so much about yourself, not being able to rely on a friend, figuring out everything on your own. If someone says "I could never travel alone!" They should think about doing it nontheless and look at it as an "exercise" :-)
So many feels watching this! The sense of adventure and independence, the stunning scenery and clips, and absolutely precious horses. Looks like such an epic trip. Great video!
It's really amazing how you travel on your own. I'm still not brave enough to travel on my own especially to other continent. Bravo for your boldness.😆👍
I went to Iceland last year and it was one of the best trips I ever had. Such a stunning country! Thanks for sharing this video, watching it brought back so many memories!
Hey Allison I'm a long time follower from Iceland! I'm so glad you liked our country and I'm so happy you went out of the city to explore the beauty of the south coast. You truly were really lucky to get clear skies since from October-April we usually only get like 10 days of sun! Loved this video :D
Wow, if your not the perfect role model for young ladies today, nobody is. It takes so much strength and courage to go traveling like that alone, I definitely admire you!!!!!
I rarely comment but WOW, you go girl for going to a different country alone!! I've gone on weekend trips by myself but have never considered going to a different country alone. You are so inspiring!!! Would you consider doing a video on how you plan trips, especially internationally?? Thanks for sharing your journey, it looked amazing!!!
Ive watched your solo trips now and I must say it is so inspiring to actually see a woman to travel by herself. My dream is to travel around the world but I always wanted someone to go with me but didnt realize how it limits me. Therefor it’s awesome to see you do this and it really inspires me to do the same! Could you do a video on how to travel alone being a woman?
I was in Iceland a few weeks ago and it's genuinely stunning. The horses are so friendly and fluffy. I would say to anyone going to Iceland, if you can don't pay for the tours and hire a car instead. The tours are costly and honestly feel rushed, you'll also be in a cramped coach so it's nice to have the freedom to do and go where you want for as long as you want. Though some of them are operated really well so it's completely up to you. You MUST bring waterproof clothing. I don't care if you think you'll be ok the weather is ridiculous and gets so wet. Get waterproof trousers and coat. Make sure you layer with good quality layers. If you're planning on going to the blue lagoon or any of the geothermal lagoons it's good to know that you are expected to shower completely naked beforehand in gendered communal showers. This shouldn't be an issue for most people, but I know some people have religious reasons or just personal reasons for not wanting to be completely naked in front of others. Lastly please don't get too close to the sea especially in winter. They have sneaker waves and the force is ridiculously strong. People have died and people fall into the waves regularly, which is not pleasant in winter! Most of all though just enjoy Iceland :) it's truly amazing.
Nina Anwamane I would like to add to this. You actually are allowed to go near the sea during winter, it just depends on where you are in Iceland. Also, follow the rules or if someone tells you something is dangerous then do not do it. Just don't. Then last but not least, if you rent a car, do not drive everywhere. Just drive on the roads, that's what roads are for. If you drive outside the roads you ruin the nature (:(
Kristbjorg harpa Ah ok, I personally wouldn't risk it just seeing how strong the waves are. Oh I completely agree with you about driving only on the roads! I should add to that not to litter, Iceland is a beautiful country and we should respect it. People also make the mistake of standing on the moss which then takes from what I remember over 50 years to grow back 😞
Nina Anwamane actually it can take up to 100 years to grow! :/ Also, going to Reynisfjara and near the sea is most of the time just plain stupid, and yes you can die with just doing so. However, going to Nauthólsvík (fx) is completely safe, and there's even staff that work there.
Please make a video on solo travel as a woman, it's something I've always wanted to do but I've been way too scared! It's amazing that you did this, I loved this video! :)
it look so good. Your clip is very professional.I just back from Solo Travel to Machu Picchu (Peru) and San Prado Atacama (Chili). I'm looking for next trip to travel.Your trip so inspired. I might going to make the plan to Iceland.Thank you for sharing your adventure.

I went there a long time ago and I hope I’ll get to go back one day. It’s one of my favorite places in the world.
I went in February and the winter weather really wrecked our plans on driving further but this is making me want to go back ASAP! All the blues!
I went to Iceland around two years ago. It's so beautiful! I'll never forget it😄
You are so brave! Right now I can only dream about solo travel. One day...
Wow Iceland is so beautiful and stunning. I wanna go there and see the cute and adorable ponies and the waterfall.
I am really excited about this trip!! I should do more solo trips. As long as you are careful, everything will be fine. ADDED BONUS: you get to do what YOU want to do. There's no compromise on what you do, where you stay, what you eat, and where you go. Kudos to you, Allison!

Iceland is one of the MOST beautiful country. We visited in Summer 2019 and it’s so tranquil
I've been watching you for years and it's so surreal to see you visit my country. I hope you enjoyed!
I went to Iceland last September also by myself, beautiful country!
I went to Iceland three years ago and get super nostalgic whenever I see video/pictures about it! Solo traveling is a great resolution, I would like to try to go on a solo city trip this year just to see how I like it :)
Very good Allison. Thanks for your beautiful videos.
Idk why but this makes me so emotional. So happy you got to do this and I hope that someday I'll get to see it too!

Jessica Smart Your honeymoon just described my dream trip! How amazing!
This is so beautiful country.Thank you for taking us there like a dream 💭
This makes me want to go, it’s so beautiful! Please could you make a video about your experience of travelling alone and any tips? Especially as a female.
Sapphire D I hear a lot of women buy fake wedding ring set from like Walmart or somewhere really cheap and it helps
Loved this! Can you film a video on what you packed?? I'm mind blown that you packed for such cold weather with so little!
I''m so much into travel photos and vlog since I cannot travel myself. When I watch other youtubers, I'm never satisfied. But this one is so much different.
what an awesome adventure! that ice hiking looked amazing
Thanks Carah! :)

Wow I can’t believe you went all the way to Iceland by yourself! I won’t even go out to eat by myself. 😂
same here
scott a glad I'm not the only one! I always get my food to go. The idea of eating alone makes me super uncomfortable!
I don't think I've ever eaten in a restaurant alone
scott a So, Scott A and ccap321, I challenge you to do it...eat alone in a restaurant. It really isn't as nerve-racking as you think. When I travel for work, I do it a lot. Here are a couple of tips. I had never gone out to eat by myself before Iceland either. After you do it once it's no big deal and now doesn't feel weird to me at all!

Ohh I'm also traveling solo here for the first time in Patagonia. Your video is well-put together and inspiring as always!
I was just there! The ice caves are the most beautiful creation of nature. It’s sad it doesn’t show up as incredible on camera.
Awesome women doing awesome things. Thank you for sharing your trip with us!
Oh my goodness! That looked like so much fun! So cool you took that journey alone.
Beautiful scenery ugh it must have been so peaceful!

That rainbow!
You gotta share how you packed so lightly! And for such cold!
Wow you mustn’t mind driving on the icy roads 😊
- I hope that one day I will be able to visit the capital Reykjavik. It really intrigues me a lot. I'm passionate about it.
Ahhh! This is one of my bucket list destinations. It’s so rad that you went solo! 🤙

You're my idol Allison !! You give me the courage to go on solo trip !
Gorgeous! My now husband and I eloped there in November 😍 Iceland is so beautiful, we felt really lucky to be there x
Oh wow! Thanks for taking the time to share your trip with us! I’d love to know how you packed and what you packed for carryon only? ☺️
Amazing scenery. You are a true adventurer !
I love your videos!!!!!!
what a breathtaking video!
I am one of the girls who answered when you asked for solo travelling tips on twitter a couple of months ago and I am sooo happy for you that you made this trip, allison!did you enjoy it?
Yes! I can't believe I waited this long to start solo traveling. I loved it!
I have found myself newly single and this is SO INSPIRATIONAL ❤️ beautiful landscape
