This was filmed in February, which was a perfect time to visit Joshua Tree! The weather was high 60s, sun was out, and the park wasn't too busy. If you're looking for a good late winter getaway next year, be sure to add this one to your list. Hope you all are staying well 💛
Allison Anderson Thank you for your videos. I see you switched cameras from a fujifilm x-t2 to a sony aiii. I see people switching from a sonyaiii to a fujifilm x-t3. Could you explain why you seitched cameras? Im considering buying but Im currently undecided. Since you have experience with both cameras, what would you suggest?
Greetings from nsw, Australia ☺ : while in q
I was there in February also and visited Cholla Cactus Garden on the most beautiful night ever.
Yucca is pronounced "Yuh Kuh."
Hey I grew up out there , still love it im glad you like the place
As a fellow solo female traveler, you are one of those that I look up to ♡
This felt so so wholesome. I’m 21 and from London and I would absolutely love to go travelling round the national parks in America. I used to go as a kid every year and would do the junior ranger programmes. Watching this video literally made my heart skip a bit because it brings back such amazing memories of my childhood. Can’t wait until I can go back and explore. ❤️
I went to Joshua Tree solo too in december, and it was perfect. I also had an adorable airbnb and I was just so happy to be there. It’s one of my favorite places in the world. ♥️
Larissa Brito omg I want to go sooo bad. lol. Just the way you described it sounds so perfect. This video too. I hope that 1 day it is 1 of my favorite places too! ❤️
You shouldn't be afraid at night at Joshua Tree. It's an Oasis in the High Desert 🏜️ in SoCal ❤️. At night it's like this 👀. Fresh air and freedom from Seattle, Washington. For the price of airfare, I'd fly once a month to our Desert treasure of peace and quiet plus ❤. Beautiful video and photo shoot.
Stunning! I love these videos of your travels! Especially during social distancing. It was a nice break from the real world.
A welcomed breath of fresh air right now as I sit quarantined in my apartment...I absolutely love the diversity of the California landscape.
The week California went into shelter in place was my Joshua Tree trip. I had to cancel it! This video will give me something to look forward soon when I book my trip again.
This was truly so beautiful and joyous, I love the desert landscape
Love Joshua Tree, it's literally the best get away and amazingly beautiful when it's Milky Way season.
Joshua tree looks so beautiful! I would love to visit some day. Now that we are in quarantine my wanderlust is even stronger! ❤️
Same! It's definitely bittersweet posting my last travel video for the foreseeable future. Looking forward to traveling again when it's safe.
Same here, I cannot wait to get out and explore again!
Christina Marie , come on out , it’s beautiful right now ! Stay at The Casita , it’s tucked up in the rocks with a view of forever
Greetings from nsw, Australia ☺
@@allisonanderson They re-opened booking rentals in San Bernadino County :) so you can book in Joshua Tree beginning this week.
My parents used to take me to Joshua Tree and Palm Springs every February when I was young, and this brought back so many good memories. It's such a beautiful time to be out hiking and exploring... loved this so much :)
Thanks! I never realized how amazing the area was in late winter/early spring. May have to make a habit of going more often during that time.
Love the photos that you showed throughout the video! I’m 13 but once I’m able to travel alone I will definitely be adding these places to my list at Joshua Tree
I’m in awe over this video ♥️♥️♥️. You make the most beautiful footage ever, in always so excited to see what you get when you travel!
i live in socal so im able to take a handful of trips to Joshua tree every year. seriously one of the most magical places
A few months back you inspired me to plan my first solo trip! It was actually going to be this week and I was going to visit Bryce, Arches, and other nations parks in Utah. I obviously had to postpone due to covid.
So this video is the cure I needed to help keep the travel bug at bay! ❤️
Thanks, this brought back such wonderful memories. I’ve got to go back there. Loved your confession of walking in desert darkness fear.
I wanted to thank you for this. 10 months ago I watched this and told myself I would get away to the trees when I could finally travel.
I did this last month finally and it was all because of your inspiring video.
This looks wonderful and is on my list. Cannot wait to explore again
you inspire me, as a female about to graduate college (with a major that doesn't really do it for me) I am feeling a little lost at the moment but visiting new places has always been on my mind, and I believe its exactly what I need! I'm in love with the desert and only been to Joshua Tree once and it was magical. I don't have a car at the moment but as soon as I get one I am travelling! Thank you for these beautiful videos
This video was GREAT!
Joshua Tree is one of my favorite places in the world! 🥰
Putting this on my list once we can start traveling again. Wonderful Vlog!! 👍👍👍👍👍
I have been wanting to go to Joshua Tree! Thank you for your video! So beautiful! I have never done a solo trip but after watching your video, I'm definitely inspired to do it.
I’m headed there in April!! I can’t wait! Thank you for getting me even more excited ✌🏻
I love Joshua Tree & yes, the hikes are super nice because they can be enjoyed by so many more people! We really appreciate nicely done trails (been on a lot of trails in our 12,000+ mile loop of the US)!
What a great little trip! I’m kicking myself because I live for a year in San Bernardino and never went.
Great video! We visited in Joshua Tree in February. Camped in our RTT at Hidden Valley for one night. We got to camp in the dark, snowing, temps going down. One of the coldest nights of camping I ever experienced. We made drove the Geology Tour Road in our Jeep and it was amazing! Lots of good pictures and video.
Love all your videos, Allison! Your videography is incredible. We planned our entire Portugal trip based on your recos and loved every minute. ❤️
This video is incredible. Well done! One of the more personal, artistic, and information videos, I've seen in a long time. I love how calm you are in front of the camera as most RUclipsrs are full of this unauthentic energy. I am heading out to Joshua Tree this weekend and although it will be unbearably hot, I'm looking forward to exploring and inspired to catch the sunrise! xx
Hey Allison, I really enjoyed this video. Joshua Tree is one of the places on my list too. Thanks for the tips. Looking forward to seeing more of your travels. Cheers!
Lovely video Allison! Beautiful. I was in Joshua Tree park a few years ago and its stunning there.
Joshua Tree - the place to replenish your soul
This is beautifully done, Allison! Joshua Tree is on my list too! Thanks for all the tips!
Loving the music, your personality & channel vibe 🙌💜
I'm glad you enjoyed our little town 💕
I live in Palm Springs for almost 18 years and this past Saturday I went to Joshua tree by myself for the first time its crazy to think I have never hike there and I love hiking , I went to Joshua tree coffee shop and also to natural sisters restaurant , there is also a farmers market right outside , It was so much fun that I cant wait to go back with my husband !! I am glad you love it and next time spend some days in Palm sprigs !
This is my village ! Joshua tree has wonderful people and places to get to know !
Your travel videos are my favorite! Thanks for sharing about being scared in the dark. That was fun to learn about you!
Just discovered you channel! AND MAN! Your vlogs on your trips are so valuable and I have taken notes for my upcoming trips! THANK YOU FOR THAT!
That was a great video. Joshua Tree is definitely on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing.
You go girl! This is awesome!
I’m an astrophotographer and JT is my go-to for dark skies. I’ve spent many nights alone in the dark in remote locations - but if it makes you feel any better, the first time I tried to get Milky Way shots inside the park, I couldn’t concentrate because it was SO dark and the environment seemed so alien.
Over the years I’ve figured out ways to get past this - shooting near campsites, near the observatory, or at least in parking lots - but JT is freaky at night and I don’t blame you for your reaction.
One of the great things about JT is the abundance of secluded, well-outfitted but inexpensive short-term rentals - these days when I go I just set up in the yard of my rental and get great shots without feeling like I’m in a horror movie.😂
Loved your video! Joshua Tree seems like a really beautiful place. I will definitely be adding this to my bucket list! ❤️
This was soooo super beautiful! And omg that new lens is soooo dreamy! 😍😍♥️♥️♥️
I’ve been going in and out of JT for a few years now and I still leave absolutely amazed by this national park. Today, I checked out the Arch Rock trail and found it super fun hiking on top of huge boulders. I did get an annual pass because I know I’ll want to go back with friends but if not, I’ll go solo just like you. Great video!
Beautiful footage and great narration. Thank you!
Sweet vlog! Can’t wait to return to Joshua, it’s a super relaxing place.
The Airbnb is amazing! Went there last week and it’s definitely a must. The scenery is so eye grabbing. Definitely do plan on going back in the near future, planning a camping trip
Allison, you are an amazing photographer, so well done along with your Yellowstone trip. You are inspiring, thanks for sharing your adventures!
I'm taking my first trip to Joshua Tree in Nov. Absolutely can't wait!!
Looks so beautiful and that first airbnb is stunning. You`re an inspiration for solo travel 🤗 so many places to add to list for once the quarantine ends 🙂
I’ve always wanted to go here!! Thanks for making this video!!!! It looks amazing there!! I think I need to plan a trip for February 😊😊
My favorite place to be... Beautiful scenery the rock is amazing, especially to climb... Wonderful video... My heart always teens for Josh.
Incredible! Thanks

Wow that video was the perfect amount of information/blog thanks!!
What a beautiful place 😍 And that sunrise omg, I need to see that some day!
Thanks Allison for this awesome travelling blog and vlog! The info you provided, helps me a lot to know what I should do in desert cities and JTNP. I am always your followers on RUclips!
I teach at the high school in Joshua Tree/Twentynine Palms. It is in the middle of freaking nowhere. The park is gorgeous because of it!
Otherworldly trip. Fantastic footage. Outstanding editing. Flawless experience. How can anybody dislike it? Just came across your channel and already a fan.
I really loved this video. Im actually going to JT on a solo trip and this gave me so much courage. Thanks
The area is so gorgeous. Thanks for sharing
Happy to find your video. Planning a trip there in the next few weeks as weather permits.
I’ll be there next Saturday. Definitely gonna try and stay at the Airbnb you mentioned. Thank you!
Really nice video, I like how you put the information to anyone who wants to visit. Thanks
literal goalssssss
Outstanding!!!!
Lol I’m staying here too and was scared to go out the first time I came but I became comfortable after and the stars are beautiful to see when you walk up a hill
Thanks for the vlog. Been wanting to visit joshua tree again. Last visit was when I was a teenager. Just waiting for the parks to open again. Hopefully soon.
Glad you explained how you take those solo selfies! Thanks for the tutorial.
I really enjoyed JT from the perspective of a visitor. My mom and her sister came to 29 Palms in 1938 for water color work. The stayed a few weeks every year, so the high desert was always known to me. I was born in San Francisco and later worked in LA, but hated city confinement. 15 years living outside Spokane made me dedicated to more open space. In 2006 I had a house built on the JT Natl Park boundary near Indian Cove. When completed I moved me, my horses and mule to JT. Every day here is different and beautiful. It never becomes routine to me, but I continue to love every day here.
You inspire me to take solo trips! 💕
Good work Allison. I live in Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree area and love it here. Glad to see someone enjoy it.
Give you girls props to whoever travels by themselves yall are brave 👏👏👏👏
Thank you for sharing this video!! It’s especially nice to see when the only traveling I’m doing is from my bedroom to the kitchen 😂. You inspire me to travel more in the U.S and you got some amazing nature shots!! Thank you ❤️
I’ll be going this weekend .. now u have made me more excited 😊
Awesome video..I am going there today for a few days...thanks again..
Hi Allison!! Pls make more travel videos even if you’re not traveling, just talking about these things gets me excited w ideas and hope. Could you maybe do a video of places you’ve been or suggestions of pleased people can go that doesn’t require driving to get around? I don’t have a car or a license so I always feel like my choices are limited. Thanks!!
Adding this to my travel list!! The desert is so beautiful and underrated!
right, def adding this to my list!
if you do i recommend coming when it's a little cooler. it can get very hot here and you would probably enjoy yourself when it is cooler. Joshua Tree National Park is literally in my backyard and it is so so beautiful. bring lots of water either way and NEVER leave the trail. safe travels :))
Just came back. Was amazing and stayed in Palm Springs. Love the quality of your video
Awesome. I love those videos.
Joshua Tree is amazing. Recently found your channel and I thoroughly enjoy your video style :)
I just took a solo trip to Joshua Tree. Very breathtaking scenery and good for rock climbing. I went in June and the Mojave Desert is HOT. Bring lots of fluids to drink when you go during the day, especially during the summer. It's cool to drive through. Bring sunscreen too.
Wow America is soooooooo beautiful!!! It's on my wish list..... Love and hugs from Cape Town South Africa 💜🌹💚
I'm going to Joshua Tree and staying at an airbnb there for my birthday in the next few weeks!! Your shots of the park are stunning and the video is getting me so excited, can't wait to visit soon 😊
I live like 6 mins from the north entrance, in 29!! We go at least once a week to the park,, I absolutely love living out here! So excited to see that you appreciated it ❤️❤️
I live in 29, too!
Im in Joshua Tree!!

Magnificent video shoot 😲😲
That sunrise was breathtaking. May have to visit solely for that
Love Joshua Tree! We’ve camped in our small trailer inside the park a few times - had our Labrador retriever with us, so did do several drives. I would do the short hikes & my husband would hang with the dog at the truck. Then drive some more!
Wow just started watching your videos simply goosebumps for this solo trip and tempting to go around there
Thank you for keeping us motivated
Your photography/videography is so good Allison! That new lens looks amazing
loved it!
I am a solo traveler also. Glad i came across your channel. I have a bucket list myself. I look forward to follow you for inside tips.
Slick production skills --- in the best sense of the word. Thank you.
I completely understand being scared of the dark. Despite that, my first real solo trip was to Moro Rock in Sequoia in the middle of the night to catch the sunrise and take pictures. I completely fell in love with the feeling of solitude and made my way to Bright Angel Point on the Grand Canyon’s North Rim within a week to try my hand at astrophotography. I hope to make it back out west soon to check out places I missed, but in the mean time I’ll just enjoy traveling through your videos. Thank you!!
Thank you Allison for making this film. As a female its really encouraging to see you take this trip solo although I pray for your continued safety I beg you to please at least take a buddy along with you for safety and for fellowship
