Lionel Santa Fe Super Chief Starter Set

- This is a train set that I wanted for a while. I love the announcements that the engine makes. I've added to cars to make it a five car set which I run around my attic layout.
I bought this set a year or so back. Iam very pleased with it.
No matter how you slice it, no matter how many times you see someone review it, it's still one of the coolest and most iconic sets. I can't wait for the Texas Special set

Thank you! It's fun with the blue led lighting to simulate the moon at night. I've got a lot of reviews to do before all the stuff from the 2023 Lionel Big book stuff comes out at the end of the year.
For a starter set that is some great detail.
I put an l.e.d. strip in the baggage car and passengers in my santa fe, it may not have all the features of a legacy, but a bit of TLC can make this Santa Fe a very nice set to run.

Nice video. I have the same starter set. I also purchased the baggage car and the Vista Dome car and have added passengers to the cars. In addition, I added an LED light to light up the red tail light on the back of the Observation car. Find it really adds to the rear of the train running down the track.
That's cool that you added light to the rear drum. Was it hard to do?
@@jrsoscaletrains after looking at the wiring and not being sure where to connect and not wanting to mess it up , I had my local train store install it for me. It wasn’t expensive and I’m glad they were able to do it for me.

That Texas Special in the 2023 Lionel Big Book looks nice! Why don't you like the controller?

Hey JR! I typically do n-scale but really want to get this for my boys to play with (and me haha). Curious to know if there is a b-unit I can get that matches the A unit? Powered or un-powered.
Currently, Lionel does not offer a B unit that is powered or unpowered

Looks to be ancient though. Guess I could always run a second A unit and try and renumber it haha

I have the same train set JR and like you I always wanted a Santa Fee passenger set. I have the Baggage car and the Dommer car. The Dommer car will relay look great with your set. I like your channel and subscribe. JR Did you have another train layout?
